**Chapter 146: Two Bosses**
Sogriede’s head got blasted through, but he quickly recovered. Talk about a thick skull!
The moment he snapped back to reality, he felt countless invisible attacks zooming toward him.
He raised a hand, and black mist clumped together into a barrier.
After a few muffled thuds, the barrier exploded into tiny particles!
At the same time, Sogriede teleported, conjuring two spiraling energy orbs—one red, one black—that rocketed toward Yuliya.
Yuliya easily dodged them but realized something strange. In an instant, she vanished, reappearing twenty meters away.
Where she had just stood was now covered in a whirlwind of dual-colored energy.
“Spatial magic? Oh, I see! This is my first time witnessing such advanced spatial sorcery.”
“Then let me show you some more magic tricks!”
Yuliya raised her right hand, hovering it down.
Boom!
The small space Sogriede occupied compressed downward, like a thousand-pound weight slamming onto him.
His knees buckled, and he nearly dropped to the ground, but his eye caught a glimmer of something rippling toward him.
He let out a yell as black mist surged upward from the ground, deflecting the incoming attack and shattering the spatial pressure at the same time.
The two began darting around each other, launching fierce attacks.
On one end, there was the silent erosion and devouring of red and black energy; on the other, invisible waves unleashed explosive blasts, slicing, and piercing through.
Sogriede could rise from the ground to initiate attacks; any patch of land could become his battlefield.
Yuliya, on the other hand, had simple and straightforward spatial control—where you go, I lock on.
They had to keep moving; standing still made you the perfect target!
But in terms of mobility, Yuliya held the upper hand.
Not only was she faster than Sogriede, but she could also warp (teleport), hide in a pocket dimension (space concealment), and flicker (blink) around.
After several rounds of combat, Sogriede hadn’t landed a single hit on Yuliya, while she had landed quite a few blows on him.
But he wasn’t worried.
This was his turf, and he had strong healing capabilities.
While she didn’t have any recovery, it was well-known that spatial magic consumed a lot of energy.
So, as long as this dragged on, she would definitely collapse first.
Yuliya was indeed facing that dilemma. Although her higher-tier spatial magic, the Golden Law, consumed much less mana, it was still draining.
Her attacks, aside from the first one that caught Sogriede off guard, had either been canceled out or only managed to hit harmless spots, inflicting minimal damage.
At this rate, even if she drained her mana, defeating this boss was still a long shot.
So, time to blow up the competition!
Yuliya suddenly accelerated, charging directly at Sogriede.
Sogriede frowned.
What was she up to now? Trying to play close combat?
He knew close combat was not his forte.
Though he once dreamed of it, that dream was shattered, leaving him as a mage through and through.
Maintaining his proper speed, he slammed his hand down onto the ground.
A burst of black mist enveloped him, moving alongside him.
This mist obscured external vision, but he could see clearly.
Then he was shocked to see her still charging straight at him.
Was she not worried about the poison?
Suddenly, a rock was hurled at him.
It was very much a rock, a bona fide rock!
A rock? Oh no! I’ve taken those at the church before!
The next moment, there was a deafening explosion.
The storm blew the black mist away, revealing a coughing Sogriede clutching his chest.
Seeing this, Yuliya flashed a grin.
Blink!
Dragon Fist!
Sogriede was sent flying into the air with a punch.
“Try to dodge THIS! I dare you!”
Not good at sniping from a distance? Then I’ll shove the barrel right in your face!
If hand-to-hand combat is my strength, then close-range shooting is also MY strength!
Guns sh**t fast at seven paces, but within seven paces? They’re fast AND accurate!
With Sogriede floating mid-air, Yuliya jumped in front of him, slapping spatial magic right into his face.
He was charging energy; the black mist erupted, aiming to blow everything away.
But I’m just going to stuff a bomb right down your throat and run!
With another explosive boom, the black mist dispersed.
Then came an all-out combo!
Don’t say I’m bullying you; you’re a mage, and so am I. You can only blame yourself for not being good at close combat.
A mage with a one-track mind is NOT a good mage.
Facing such a cheeky blast of magic straight to the face, Sogriede found himself rather helpless.
He could feel his body deteriorating; the injuries were piling up.
At this rate, this could get deadly for him.
Yuliya kept a constant eye on Sogriede’s health bar.
He was the lord of this city, the final boss; she had to be on guard against whatever trump card he might have—his so-called second stage.
No way he doesn’t have a second stage! Even the elite monsters do!
After a flurry of magical projectiles, Sogriede’s health plummeted rapidly.
He struggled and fought back several times, even managing to escape on a few occasions.
But it was pointless; he couldn’t keep up with her speed; there was no escape, and he continued to get bombarded by close-combat magic.
Finally, his health dropped to half.
“Damnit!!! You’ve forced my hand!!”
He burst out, his voice trembling with rage.
“You’ve ruined my path to godhood! I’m going to shred you into pieces and devour your very soul!”
Yuliya grew cautious as she stepped back, creating some distance with a flicker.
The next second, the ground started to shake, and booming sounds resounded from deep underground.
That direction led to the Lord’s Mansion.
Roar!!!
An angry growl echoed from the depths, growing closer.
Suddenly, the ground beneath her feet shattered, and a row of sharp teeth erupted from the earth, tearing through the soil.
This was…that worm!
Yuliya realized instantly.
This was the giant worm she had been keeping an eye on ever since she saw it once before.
But it hadn’t appeared since that first time—turns out it was on the lord’s side!
Seeing that worm only gave Yuliya a sigh of relief.
She didn’t panic at all and, after blinking, casually stepped back a couple of paces, easily evading the worm’s gaping maw.
Then, standing just a few meters away, she watched as its long body continued to emerge from the ground.
It took about ten seconds for this spectacle to complete.
Judging by the size, that worm was at least two hundred meters long.
Once the creature burrowed back into the ground from another spot, Yuliya finally had the chance to check its stats.
**[Name: Abyssal Worm (Blue Boss)

It turns out Black Raven City had TWO bosses!
