Chapter 152: Sogriede’s Ramblings
Manager: “The Boss has entered phase three!”
“The Wind God gave it a shot, and the damage is decent.”
“But now the Boss is both offensive and defensive, high on health and damage, and fast as a cheetah! The Wind God seems to be at a loss!”
“The Wind God can only dance around it, but now he’s stuck in the same predicament as before. The Boss can drag this out, but the players can’t just keep flailing about.”
“It seems the Wind God has thought of a way! He starts to kite!”
“This is textbook kiting! I drain your resources while you have no idea what to do!”
“Exactly how he should play! My hands are long and nimble, and you’re just too cumbersome for me to mess with.”
“We’re now in a long tug-of-war, and we can see the Boss chasing like a rabid dog, ready to gnaw its own teeth off.”
“And the Wind God? He even has the nerve to turn back and taunt! What a shrimp!”
Huang seizes the moment to steer the conversation.
“The Wind God has demonstrated a complete strategy for dealing with a big, dumb Boss. Did our audience catch that?”
The chat exploded with agreement: “I’m taking notes! Can a mere human really solo a Boss like this?”
“If I had such skills, I’d clear all the small mobs on the map. I’d be raking in points for an easy first place, why bother struggling against this Boss?”
“We came to enjoy the live stream, not to learn some kind of wizardry!”
They all shared a common understanding: even if they were given the Wind God’s panels, gear, and skills, they wouldn’t dare say they could solo this Boss.
Just watch how the Wind God glides between buildings, barely dodging the Boss’s attacks! Who could replicate that?
Not to mention planning routes and leading the Boss around!
It takes absolute awareness and skill, combined with a calm and confident mindset to pull off.
What would an average player do?
Of course, they’d just gather a bunch of people for a mob fight while they toss bombs and spells like a stationary cannon.
Suddenly, Huang exclaimed, “Look at the map! It seems other players are getting close!”
“They’re right in the path between the Wind God and the Boss!”
“Oh no, could there be trouble brewing?”
“They’ve crossed paths! And they… got one-shot by the Boss.”
“And now the Wind God is leading the Boss back the way he came.”
Manager: “Um… so, Young Master Hua, as another top player, what’s your assessment of this?”
Young Master Hua felt distressed.
Seriously, don’t put the spotlight on me! Being invisible sounds really nice right about now.
“I’d say, when gods fight, mortals suffer. It’s just bad luck for those who wandered into the gods’ battlefield.”
Others felt the same way.
Having watched the stream, they empathized with that inexplicable one-shot experience.
The Wind God does this to small mobs, and now the Boss treats other players like they’re just smaller mobs.
Wait… hold on, it seems there’s an elite mob mixed in with the small fries.
But the Boss didn’t finish her off—she’s still alive!
Then everyone saw her head into danger again.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the screen, the Wind God and the Boss played a game of bungee jumping.
The Boss’s health bar was rapidly plummeting.
That first lap took away over 20% of its health, and this return trip knocked off another 30%! The Boss’s health was below 40% now.
Suddenly, the Wind God stopped, seemingly ready to confront the Boss head-on.
This decision baffled many viewers.
After one exchange, just as Manager was gearing up for commentary, Huang noticed something: “This spot looks familiar.”
And in the next moment, classic déjà vu hit.
A massive explosion of white light filled the live stream, forcing everyone to shield their eyes temporarily.
Though they couldn’t see the screen, everyone could guess the outcome, and Manager’s voice rose to match the explosion’s roar.
“Again, it’s this spot—familiar formula, familiar flavor, the place where it all began! How many traps did the Wind God lay here?!”
“This blast is way stronger than all the previous ones combined; even the Boss won’t just be wounded, it’ll be utterly obliterated!”
“The Wind God led the Boss in circles just to return here! That’s some next-level strategy!”
When the explosion cleared, everyone looked at the aftermath—a ground that no longer resembled its former self—and collectively gasped.
Not only did they defeat the Boss, but they also leveled the poor Boss’s home!
Decisive! Ruthless!
“Honestly, I feel despair for this Boss.”
“You can’t even land a hit! Zero chance of winning.”
“That thing hits harder, moves faster, brawls better, and snipes more accurately. It can strategize while being a hard-hitter—bigger bombs for clearing the path, and dodging without leaving a trace.”
“You just can’t win against this. If I were that Boss, I’d raise my hands and surrender, giving away points willingly.”
But the Wind’s final blow didn’t garner much attention.
Mostly because no one understood it—a phantom sword strike, an invisible attack, and the Boss detonating was just another d*ath animation.
Thus, the first Boss of the dungeon “Ruinous Country” was defeated.
The audience roared in applause.
Yuliya received the notification sound—just points, no extra rewards.
Sogriede and the Abyssal Worm counted as separate entities: the former worth 10,000 points, the latter 8,000.
After all, this was just a little Boss in the dungeon. There were still six more cities and at least six more little bosses to tackle.
As for the deep exploration points of the map, that was left for another day.
Yuliya approached the spot where Sogriede had fallen, finding a purple chest below.
Now that was the real loot!
She opened the chest to find some potions—a decent amount of health and mana recovery.
Then a few pieces of gear emerged.
And hold the phone—there was a purple piece!
She pulled it out: a black robe, similar to the one she was already wearing.
Purple gear, oh baby!
Forget about the stats; at least the durability was sturdy!
The blue gear she wore had already lost some durability, even without taking much damage.
The worst-off robe was down to half durability!
Putting on the purple black robe, Yuliya’s expression was hidden, transforming her back into an emotionless killer.
She swapped out the other gear for high-durability replacements.
Then she examined the last item in the chest—a scroll.
She opened it up and read.
“The situation among the countries is getting tense; Senra and other major countries have considerable conflicts, and even gold can’t mediate—looks like the world is on the brink of chaos.”
“The King is ill; that’s a heavy blow for us.”
“The King has recovered—good news.”
“The King seems a bit strange now.”
“He’s become increasingly bizarre, pushing out laws that are hard to understand.”
“We haven’t managed to see the King, but I had a strange dream last night where I saw gods and demons.”
“I feel a bit odd too; I want to save the people.”
“I can save them—I will become a god!”
…
“d*e!!!”
