### Chapter 162: Now It’s Time to Get Serious!
Yuliya stepped out of the Teleportation Array and found a cozy spot to hide.
She had gained a decent understanding of this forest dungeon.
The forest had several layers, each with different environments and challenges.
The first layer was mainly full of fog and lurking monsters. Figure out the truth behind the fog, and you could breeze right through.
But if you couldn’t, well, no matter how many people you brought, you’d be done for.
Even if you somehow managed to stumble through, you’d be so drained of time and energy that pushing on would be next to impossible.
As for the second layer, she couldn’t tell much just yet—she’d have to wait for her scouting party to poke around.
There was usually a Teleportation Array connecting each layer, sending players off to tackle the next challenge.
For someone like Yuliya, who preferred climbing through windows rather than using the front door, this was a devastating blow.
She felt like she was being specifically targeted.
This only strengthened her resolve to stick with the organization and the team.
Meanwhile, Fiery Conflict Across the Sky, after debating with himself, decided to take the Teleportation Array after all.
Before moving the main group, he sent several smaller teams to scout the area, confirming there was no danger, and then the entire army moved out.
After the 3,000-man raid team had walked a good distance from the Teleportation Array, a tremendous commotion erupted from deep within the forest.
The ground shook violently, chaos erupted with the sounds of crashing footsteps and roars, and thick smoke billowed into the sky.
At the same time, a scout, covered in dirt and dust, rushed back.
“Report! It’s a beast tide! An actual beast tide!”
“How many?”
“Not sure on the specifics, but it looks like it’s several times our numbers.”
“All personnel, go into battle mode! All teams, tighten the formation. The front line team, take the lead; the rest arrange in a triangle, prepare for impact!”
This was no minor skirmish—the enemy outnumbered them by several folds.
Everyone stood ready, power building in their hands, eyes glued to the front.
“Enemy! One thousand meters!”
“Five hundred meters!”
“Two hundred meters!”
“One hundred meters!”
“Fifty meters!”
“Twenty meters! First wave of magic attacks!”
A barrage of ranged attacks exploded like fireworks, inflicting devastating damage on the enemies.
The results were pretty solid, but still woefully insufficient.
The number of enemies that went down was nothing compared to their sheer size.
Before the smoke from the bombardment had even cleared, the remaining monsters charged straight at them.
“Hold the formation!”
And thus, close combat officially commenced.
Thanks to the formation chosen by Fiery Conflict Across the Sky, the number of monsters the raid team faced right off the bat wasn’t actually overwhelming.
Most of the beasts surged past from the sides.
Since this was a massive beast tide, the monsters couldn’t instantly turn around. They needed considerable space to pivot, which would take some time.
They had effectively split the monster tide into thirds, only needing to deal with a third initially.
But if they didn’t wipe out the ones in front before the side monsters could return, they would face a three-sided ambush.
However, Yuliya wasn’t worried at all.
Never underestimate the combat power of a player swarm!
It was just a few thousand or even tens of thousands of monsters; a little grinding would take care of them.
So, she slyly slipped off to explore the depths of this place.
The second layer of the forest was likely just a monster grind with no real challenge. She’d leave that to her buddy, Fiery Conflict Across the Sky.
See? This is the upside of following an organization.
Yuliya kept striding deeper into the forest.
On her way, she encountered many monsters charging toward the main group.
“The numbers are truly staggering. If it were up to me, I wouldn’t know when I’d finish battling.”
She glanced back at the battlefield, a cacophony of shouts and swirling dust, nodding to herself.
“These points are super precious; I should let my comrades take them first. I’m just here playing ketchup; how could I possibly jump in?”
With that, she turned and kept walking.
After a long time of wandering, she found only some meaningless chests.
No elite monsters, no Teleportation Array.
With no other choice, she headed back to the group.
Even though I’ve always been on the outskirts, my heart has been right there with the organization.
At that moment, the battle between the raid team and the monsters had reached a boiling point.
While there had been some casualties, the situation stabilized, beginning to tilt in favor of the players.
She believed it wouldn’t be long before they cleared out the monsters.
Just then, a thunderous roar echoed from deep within the forest, followed by a tremor that shook the earth.
Several scouts hovering on the fringes quickly moved to investigate the source of the noise.
Before long, word came back.
“Report! A few giant elite monsters spawned! They’re charging this way! They’re really fast!”
Before the raid team could react, a massive figure emerged in the distance.
It was a colossal beast resembling a mammoth, towering over twenty meters, its legs as thick as pillars, shaking the ground with every thunderous step.
It was barreling towards them. Despite its seemingly clumsy movement, it was incredibly speedy.
At this rate, it wouldn’t take a minute to reach them.
When that happened, the raid team’s formation would face catastrophic impact, shattering the stabilizing situation.
The team would be thrown into disarray, taking even more casualties.
“Everyone, concentrate your attacks on the mammoth’s legs! Stop it at all costs!”
The raid team redirected their firepower, aiming straight for the mammoth beast.
A medley of magical attacks erupted violently, brilliant lights bursting forth.
Everyone fixated on that direction, hoping the concentrated assault could halt or even take down the behemoth.
However, in the next instant, the ground continued to shake, and the thundering sound of its charge approached ominously.
The massive silhouette burst through the dust cloud, shimmering with a faint yellow glow.
Unstoppable: it entered an invulnerable state, suffering 90% damage reduction.
Everyone’s hearts sank. Just moments earlier, their concentrated fire couldn’t even take off half its health.
And that was a large-scale attack launched by the entire raid team! There was no way they could pull that off again in such a short time.
Many spots suffered new losses due to the gap in firepower.
Oh no! If that beast’s hoof lands, it’ll be catastrophic!
Many had already envisioned the brutal scene that awaited them.
They would be embroiled in a chaotic melee with the monsters, casualties guaranteed.
Even if they did win in the end, the cost would be monumental.
Seeing the mammoth burst forward with irresistible force, it was now only a thousand meters away in the blink of an eye.
Five hundred meters!
Three hundred meters…
The players at the front were filled with despair; under the crushing hooves of the giant, they were certain to perish.
Two hundred… Boom!!!
An explosion sounded out amidst the chaotic frenzy, seeming ordinary, yet ringing loud in the ears of the players.
After the blast came another rumble, sounding more like the crash of the creature hitting the ground.
Followed by a great, sorrowful trumpet sound.
They saw it—the silhouette of the giant had completely toppled.
“Oh, thank goodness I made it in time!”
A shadowy figure descended from the sky, diving into the thick smoke created by the explosion and collision.
What seemed like a small figure was now incredibly imposing.
“It’s the Wind God! The Wind God is at it again!”
“The Wind God is awesome!”
“The Wind God is my daddy! My momma!”
