Chapter 164: My Cheat Can’t Be Stopped!
“Maze, huh… and it’s one that changes all the time, flipping between reality and illusion.”
“Oh boy, this is going to be a pain…”
She could use her Golden Eyes to examine every bamboo stalk closely and brute force her way through the maze.
But doing that would drain her resources, and it would take ages.
And what if the maze changes halfway through? That’d be a total waste of effort!
In short, Yuliya felt like she was being targeted yet again.
No choice but to roll with the maze’s whims and just walk forward.
After a few steps, she suddenly sniffed the air, as if catching a whiff of something.
She concentrated, taking a deep sniff.
“This is… magic!”
Yuliya is super sensitive to this scent! You could say a dog couldn’t sniff better than her.
This is a good thing!
If she could smell this, it meant points were coming her way!
Anything touching magic is bound to score high points.
Although the enemies would be stronger, she’d just check it out and see.
If trouble arises, she can make a run for it.
Following the scent, Yuliya advanced through the maze.
Occasionally glancing back, and sure enough, the path behind her changed again.
But she was chill about it now.
When there’s a will, there’s a way! If her x-ray cheat isn’t working, she’s still got a locator!
Maze, maze, you may confuse the path and the eyes, but you can’t bamboozle the nose!
After walking a bit, Yuliya knew she was nearing her target.
By the old rules, she quietly crept behind a row of bamboo and peeked out to see what goodies awaited her.
Let’s see what you got hiding!
Wow! A black wolf!
With her Golden Eyes sweeping in, all the info popped up: stats, skills, movement patterns – everything laid bare.
An elite monster, time to attack!
Yuliya sprung forth like a ninja, ready for a sneak attack.
BAM! A brutal ambush hit!
Then another sneak attack, and yet another!
Five surprise attacks later, each one landing a fatal blow.
With a loud howl, the black wolf vanished, and Yuliya snagged her points.
Nice and easy, a thousand points.
Next!
Yuliya continued deeper into the maze.
The farther she went, the more potent the magical scents became.
Couldn’t tell the good from the bad, so she just picked the closest target, but they were all great for racking up points.
Finally, she got back into her groove!
The first two layers of this Illusion Forest had really worn her down.
She was so fast, yet had to wait for the slowpoke strategy team to lazily move ahead.
She was strong, yet most of the little monsters she found were utterly useless, giving only a flimsy sense of relief to her thirsty heart.
If it weren’t for her itchy hands, she wouldn’t have put in the hard hits she did.
Six hours since leaving Ashen City, and you wanna know how I’ve passed these six hours?
I’ve been fishing for points like crazy!
While Yuliya was busy racking them up, Fiery Conflict Across the Sky’s strategy team just finished cleaning up the little monsters and was ready to head to the Teleportation Array.
Someone randomly glanced at the points leaderboard.
“Whoa! The Wind God’s points are shooting up again!”
“Brothers! The Teleportation Array is a hunting ground for points!”
“Charge!”
Fiery Conflict Across the Sky didn’t hesitate, leading the troops onward.
With the Wind God scouting ahead, he felt no pressure.
Then…
“Where are we?”
“Lost!”
“Where’s our scout? Why hasn’t he come back?”
“The scouts we sent out have gone dark, and the markers along the way are all messed up. The terrain here seems to keep shifting.”
Oh no!
Everyone’s hearts sank.
Others getting lost doesn’t matter, but in this situation, wouldn’t we also miss the Wind God?
“Brothers, if we think positively, we don’t have to fight over monsters with the Wind God anymore.”
“True, ha ha!”
“Ha ha ha…”
All they could do was continue moving forward with a mix of dread and hilarity.
Yuliya followed the magic scent, scoring points like a champ.
The deeper she went into the bamboo forest, the tougher the monsters became, and the higher the points!
First, a monster gave a thousand points, then two thousand, and now it’s three thousand!
She could take the thousand-point monsters down with just two quick pokes, but the two-thousanders needed a real fight, and as for the three-thousanders? Well, they had some serious bulk!
As long as they were beefy, the monsters had a chance to fight back against Yuliya.
And anything related to magic hit hard, with the classic rage mode coming into play.
The magic-horned deer before her was such a beast.
Its eyes blazed red, horns sprouting branches that shot out like darts all around.
Once it’s shot some out, it could grow back in no time.
At the same time, the magic horned deer moved fast, its strong build not being bulky but equipped with an extreme sense of danger.
Since it went berserk, Yuliya hadn’t even gotten a chance to zap it yet.
In the end, she had to pound it to d*ath with her bare fists.
“I just wanted to save some equipment durability! Can’t you just d*e quietly?!”
Fuming, Yuliya pressed on to the next spot.
This time, before she even got close, she felt the unusual atmosphere around her.
It had the feel of a domain.
“Could it be a BOSS…?”
Yuliya’s expression turned serious.
First off, this wasn’t the guardian BOSS of the bamboo forest, not even the main BOSS of the Illusion Forest.
Similar vibes lingered in other areas as well.
Being stealthy, she peeked to check the monster’s info.
Overall, roughly assessed, its combat strength seemed to be around 0.4 Sogriede.
She poked her forehead in concern.
I’m starting to worry about the strategy team.
In this bamboo forest environment, with so many people, they would definitely end up scattered. In the end, barely a hundred in each wave would be pushing it.
A team of fewer than a hundred facing off against a BOSS might just be doable, but if there’s more than one? That’s a different ball game.
The BOSS in Ashen City was around 0.6 Sogriede, and with over twenty thousand players, it took at least half an hour to down it.
Though only about 10% of those players might actually be engaging, roughly two thousand. Toss in the chance of getting in each other’s way, and you’ve got an effective force of six hundred, at most.
Six hundred against 0.6 Sogriede takes half an hour; imagine what it’d take for a hundred against 0.4 Sogriede—over an hour for sure!
When you’re fighting a BOSS and draw in other BOSSes, it’s basically game over.
Well, forget that; there’s nothing I can do now but hope for good luck, stay sharp, and bolt if things seem off.
A 0.4 Sogriede BOSS isn’t too scary for Yuliya, especially since she had a rough idea of the locations of the other elite monsters and BOSSes, so there was no danger of massive monster mobs swarming her.
Beast-type BOSSes usually have high health compared to humanoid ones.
But that also made their action patterns relatively simple, making them easier to catch off guard.
Yuliya spent about half an hour dealing with a BOSS, earning six thousand points.
This amount of points is fairly average; after all, Sogriede and Bug Brother contributed eighteen thousand altogether.
Once again, she missed her good old friend Sogriede.
