Chapter 168: A Stroll With the Boss
“We can see that the Wind God has already pushed the monster off the cliff for the fourth time. It can’t be this complicated when she’s normally grinding, so she must be plotting something!”
“Is she planning to use terrain advantages? Does she want to push that level 40 BOSS off too?”
“Very likely!”
“But pulling that off is quite the challenge. We all know that beast-type BOSSes in ‘Otherworld’ are pretty sharp. Let’s see what the Wind God does next!”
The newly formed commentary duo was incredibly fired up, their chemistry as tight as a stand-up comic duo.
As for the guest commentator, he had some clout and strength, having recently battled and gloriously fallen in the Illusion Forest. But now that he was in the commentary seat, he dared not voice too many thoughts.
When the perspective switched to others, he could drop a comment here and there, but when it came to the Wind God? Silence.
“She… Uh? What’s she doing? Is that a skill?”
The commentators instinctively glanced at the guest.
He pretended to check out the scenery.
Don’t ask me; I can’t figure out the Wind God either. If I could, I’d still be battling inside!
“In any case, let’s trust her. The Wind God must have some deep reasoning behind this.”
At that moment, Yuliya was indeed casting skills, her mana bar dropping rapidly.
Knowing her mana wouldn’t last long, she planned ahead, casting her skills first and then waiting to recover.
The whole process took nearly an hour.
She could’ve wrapped it up in half that time, but better safe than sorry, right?
Once her mana hit eighty percent, Yuliya rose, eyeing the direction of the BOSS.
“Next up, it’s hunting time.”
Yuliya radiated a fierce vibe, the invisible wind rustling the leaves.
She blended seamlessly into the shadows.
Adjusting herself to peak condition.
And then…

Oh look, the BOSS was still snoozing.
She activated her Golden Eyes, meticulously inspecting the BOSS’s state.
Suddenly, the BOSS seemed to sense something and lifted its head.
Yuliya vanished instantly.
Even in slumber, this brute was on high alert.
But that was the point—alertness was key!
Yuliya concealed herself, snapping her fingers lightly.
The next moment, an unseen wave shot from the distant woods straight toward the Three-tailed Demon Fox.
At the moment of attack, the Three-tailed Demon Fox sprang awake, taking a hit right on the snout.
-851!
The fox let out a furious snarl, hissing in outrage.
The damage wasn’t high, but the insult was off the charts—it smacked its nose hard!
Its eyes zeroed in on the attack’s origin.
Suddenly, another identical invisible attack zoomed in.
The Three-tailed Demon Fox turned its head to dodge.
And… wham! Right on the forehead!
-1042!
Now that was a proper insult.
“Roar—!”
It couldn’t take it anymore, the Three-tailed Demon Fox howled, its form a blur of black lightning as it charged into the woods.
This beast had ruled these parts for centuries, and it was the first time some unknown guy dared to challenge its authority.
It had to crush this little pest!
“Tsk, that speed is insane!”
The Three-tailed Demon Fox stood about four meters tall and seven meters long without its tails, each one stretching five meters with a half-meter girth—a massive creature, indeed!
With that size and speed, it was basically Sogriede Third Phase: Plus Edition!
Even without considering the level gap, its strength was at least 1.5 Sogs.
Good thing Yuliya wasn’t looking for a direct confrontation; otherwise, she’d be running for the hills by now.
The chaos in the woods erupted as the Three-tailed Demon Fox barreled through the trees.
Once the ruckus was a good distance away, Yuliya revealed herself.
She gazed at where the BOSS had been lounging—there was a treasure chest there.
“It’s practically a rule; if you sleep on it, it must be good stuff. And now it’s mine.”
She had spotted something beneath the BOSS long ago and had been itching to claim it.
Yuliya sneaked up to the treasure chest, reached out, and… nothing happened.
It was stuck, sealed with some kind of magic barrier.
At that moment, the nearby Three-tailed Demon Fox felt something amiss and whipped around, heading straight for her.
At its lightning speed, it would be here in five seconds.
Yuliya rolled her eyes.
The more it zeroed in on her, the more she wanted it all for herself.
Since there was a seal, she’d just take the whole deal along with it!
Yuliya gestured dramatically, slicing a large stone from below.
Done! Time to skedaddle!
As the Three-tailed Demon Fox burst from the trees, she flipped it the bird and vanished from sight.
The fox pounced hard but completely missed.
It threw its head back in a titanic roar that shook the mountains, startling all the beasts around.
Even Fiery Conflict Across the Sky, far off in the bamboo grove, caught the sound.
And because of that roar, the BOSS they were currently attacking suddenly dropped to the ground with a howling whimper.
“What a chance! Everyone attack!”
Though they didn’t know what was happening, it was definitely a good thing!
Yuliya, a good distance away, had to cover her ears—the roar left her head buzzing.
“Shut up! Too loud!”
With a flick of her wrist, several delayed spatial magic arrows shot toward the BOSS’s throat.
Sure enough, the shout was cut short, but it also gave the Three-tailed Demon Fox a target to chase.
The fox dashed forward, lunged, and—missed again!
Every inch of the BOSS zone was lined with delayed magic arrows Yuliya had thoughtfully prepared.
After spending some mana to set those up, she only needed a tiny bit more to fire them off.
But the duration of the delayed magic arrows wasn’t infinite—they consumed a decent amount of mana, so she couldn’t simply rely on them to take the BOSS down.
Even if she couldn’t k*ll the BOSS outright, they were fantastic for pulling aggro.
Now that she had not only provoked the Three-tailed Demon Fox repeatedly but had also stolen its treasure, it was utterly furious—this was a battle to the bitter end.
Just how she wanted it!
Another stroll around the park; different ingredients but the same old flavor.
“The Wind God really has the BOSS walking on a leash! She’s taking it for a walk!”
“Now, all the Wind God has to do is pop her head out occasionally, giving the BOSS the false impression that it’s still on the right track, and she can guide it right to the edge of the cliff!”
“But the Wind God needs to be cautious; this is a purple-tier BOSS with a high level of intelligence. She must keep her distance and watch out for its counterattacks.”
“And the final headache—once it’s at the cliff’s edge, how the heck does she push it off?”
“I believe the Wind God has already figured this all out. It’s been part of her plan all along. We just have to wait and enjoy the show!”
