Chapter 183: One Wants to Fight, the Other Gets Hit
When it comes to Yuliya, the pint-sized humanoid BOSSes are the best kinds to tackle.
When the big BOSS rolls over, Yuliya has no choice but to skedaddle.
But with small BOSSes, she has the option to face them head-on.
Like right now, she could choose to forcibly interrupt the BOSS’s casting.
However, what she didn’t expect was that the Nightmare God stubbornly endured, even while getting knocked around, determined to finish its casting.
It has thick health; it can take a beating.
Looks like she laid off a bit too much. The Rising Dragon was meant to set up for a combo, with the interruption being just an afterthought.
If only she had swung harder and smashed its head in, it definitely wouldn’t have been able to finish casting.
Yuliya charged in, swung her sword, but instead sliced right through empty air.
In front of her, the Nightmare God split into four, creating four clones.
Yuliya squinted; they all looked real.
But each clone had lower stats than the original Nightmare God.
In the next moment, all four clones lunged at Yuliya.
What kind of BOSS can’t take a hit and starts a mob fight?
Unfortunately, Yuliya wasn’t particularly worried about being mobbed.
If they were four level 38 Nightmare Gods, then sure, she’d be sweating.
But with these stats, their mobbing was hardly a cause for concern.
As the four surrounded Yuliya, she handled it with poise.
The hardest part about mobs is the chaos, but Yuliya’s back was covered by something with eyes; she could clearly sense the movements of everyone in a certain radius around her.
She created time gaps between her movements, dodging swiftly and striking each one.
Thud, thud, thud, thud, BAM!
The four-person mobbing ended in a retreat for all four.
That’s how Yuliya operates when her enemies have weaker stats than her—she goes in hard.
But suddenly, she turned, and a sword flew out.
Ding! The sword was parried, and Yuliya was already airborne, slicing down.
The shadows slowly faded, revealing a fifth Nightmare God, sword drawn, locked in a stalemate with Yuliya.
Yuliya smirked, “Sneak past me? Not a chance!”
She could sense the movements of everyone around her, including those who thought they were hidden.
The Nightmare God released four weak clones just to mask the true body’s movements.
Yuliya saw right through the ruse; the reason she kept battling the clones was purely to rack up damage.
After all, the total damage would eventually show up on the BOSS’s health bar.
Now that the Nightmare God was discovered, it didn’t bother hiding anymore.
It stepped back, regrouping all five, and charged at Yuliya.
The four clones served as support to cover the real body’s retreat back into the Nightmare Domain.
It had a reason to return; even if it meant letting this little golden guy get away for a bit.
The five charged, while Yuliya stood her ground.
But she was a single warrior against all odds!
“Golden Technique Five—Earth Splitter!”
Yuliya raised her sword high, gripping it with both hands, and slammed it into the ground.
The five charging in immediately shifted into defensive postures.
The next moment, all four clones soared away while the original took the hit.
So it came down to a one-on-one.
“Golden Technique Seven—Shadow Strike!”
Yuliya emerged from behind the Nightmare God’s shadow, delivering a fierce horizontal slash.
The Nightmare God raised its sword to block but was swept away by the massive force.
Before it could regain its composure, another round of attacks sprang forth from the shadows.
And as for its four clones? Before they even got close, they were sent flying by the Earth Splitter—a real waste of their attributes that got distributed for no effect.
After being chased and beaten for a while, the Nightmare God finally canceled its clones, returning to its original form.
This way, at least it wouldn’t be bullied like a cornered rat.
It realized it wasn’t a match for this golden warrior in close combat.
If melee wasn’t working, time for some ranged attacks!
After being smacked away again, the Nightmare God detonated its bl**d-red sword, buying a brief moment of respite.
Then, it raised a hand, and multiple magic circles unfolded, unleashing a barrage of magical projectiles.
And then… it only made things worse for itself.
Ranged magic? Really?
Yuliya sneered at this.
You haven’t landed a hit on me with your magic in the domain, and you think you can reverse the tides out of it?
And against a rogue assassin, are you seriously trying to switch to being a mage?
Buddy, your little brain must be overheating!
So, the BOSS tried everything to break through the defense and return to the BOSS zone;
And Yuliya not only held the line but pushed the BOSS back further.
No matter what tricks you try, it all amounts to nothing, and you’ll still get smacked around.
The only problem is, BOSS health is annoyingly thick. After all that, aside from the 5% it hurt itself, it only lost 4% health.
Physical attacks had only partial real damage; the non-real part still suffered from level suppression.
As for dealing pure real damage, the energy drain was just too much to keep up.
And the BOSS? Things were even more frustrating.
Since stepping out of the Nightmare Domain, it hadn’t landed a single hit on this golden warrior.
Not once.
Honestly, it was tempted to take self-damage and go all out in a desperate last stand.
But it just couldn’t do it.
Rage mode reduces health but doesn’t last long. The hit the warrior was dealing looked intense, but it seemed there was some sort of limit on their power; every hit was just a scratch.
Purely tickling!
If Yuliya knew that the Nightmare God was thinking that, she would’ve let loose a string of expletives.
Little master, there’s more to this chapter, please click the next page to continue reading, and the action gets even better!
If you dare match my level without leaning on your godly powers to suppress me and then adjust the health of the World Boss downwards,
Just wait until I beat you to the point your own mother wouldn’t recognize you!
No worries; Yuliya wasn’t in a rush anymore.
This was the true final BOSS, and with over ten hours left to play, she would tire it out!
Both sides were feeling an indescribable frustration.
Yuliya even started to ease up a bit as she prepared for a long fight.
The Nightmare God, Yekis, was struggling to break through this wall, sinking into a semi-defeated state.
Yet, this battle was still gripping to the viewers in the live room.
Both sides were skilled mages, the kind that excels in close combat.
The melee exchanges were fierce, and the ranged duels were no slouches either.
“While the Nightmare God fights valiantly and shows great resilience, the Wind God still holds the advantage.”
“A respectable opponent, but alas, it’s up against the Wind God.”
Of course, this calm banter was only happening because the Wind God had a clear edge.
If the Wind God were struggling, you’d see nothing but a barrage of complaints about the game developers filling the screen.
When the player coalition’s large force arrived nearby, witnessing one overpowering the other, they were all left dumbfounded.
Wait… what’s going on here?
Aren’t we supposed to be here to help rescue? Is this really necessary?
Meanwhile, everyone pondered a deeper question.
In this showdown, which one of these two was truly the BOSS?
