Chapter 29: One Line Makes a Man Spend Three Million for Me
Another day passed, and Xu Xiaofeng was still living her salty fish life, just like yesterday.
Not that she didn’t want to work hard, but she was afraid that hard work might lead to problems.
She could definitely use the afternoon to level up and grind some monsters.
But, two things held her back: first, players were monitoring her like hawks, and in such a small town, someone was always following her around.
Second, the experience gained from the last BOSS k*ll was massive. With the auto-leveling experience, she could very well be the first player to hit level eight.
The leaderboard ranks players based on the time they hit a certain level, so right now, no one knew that if it purely came down to experience, “Wind” was already number one.
Yet, if she leveled up to eight too quickly, the whole BOSS stealing incident would certainly come to light.
Currently, attracting so much attention as a player wasn’t the wisest choice.
When she made it to the main city, the map was much larger, and finding a quiet corner would be a lot easier. She could wait it out until then.
By then, the advantage of auto-leveling would be even more pronounced; she wouldn’t be able to hide it anyway.
“Sigh, Fiery Conflict Across the Sky, can you put in a bit of effort and level up to eight already? Stop dragging your feet!”
Xu Xiaofeng felt like whipping him from behind to hurry him up.
Wait, a whip? No good, that’s not harmonious. It might attract some weirdos; who knows how many people online would want her to whip them.
While she was bored out of her mind, Xu Xiaofeng suddenly felt a very concealed gaze upon her.
There were lots of similar gazes, but this one felt different.
Following the gaze, she spotted a player crouching not far away, ID: Bear Mountain g*n God.
Hmm? Looking at me so openly? That’s odd.
Wait, the gaze was still on her.
Xu Xiaofeng squinted, eventually locking in on the player’s chest area.
A bad feeling started creeping in…
After some thought, she walked over.
“Big Brother, what are you doing here?”
At the same time, in a popular live stream titled — “Nuclear Bomb Little Sister’s Only Designated Live Room,” the chat exploded.
‘Nuclear Bomb Little Sister is looking at me! She has feelings for me!’
‘Nonsense, she’s clearly looking at me; you can even see my reflection in her eyes.’
‘Dude in front, are you out of your mind? It’s just a live stream. She’s actually at my house!’
‘Stop chatting in this barbershop!’
‘Here, let me show everyone our marriage certificate.jpg’
‘She’s coming over! So close! AWSL!’
‘I heard her voice; it’s so cute!’
‘Oh no, the BA I’ve been playing just lost its charm. Two years of hard work!’
‘Hahaha, luckily I was playing BL, different tracks, I’m making a profit!’
Xu Xiaofeng had no idea about the live stream; she just thought that the gaze felt strange, so she kept staring.
g*n God stood there, momentarily stunned, then pretended to admire the scenery: “I’m not doing anything, just looking around.”
“Just looking around, huh…”
Xu Xiaofeng circled him, noticing she could only feel that gaze when facing him directly.
After thinking for a moment, she innocently asked, “You’re here to take a dump, aren’t you?”
As soon as she said that, g*n God froze. The live stream also paused in shock.
Then came a flurry of “What the heck!” comments.
‘Main package, main package, your perspective is all wrong, could it be…’
‘He’s crouching; he’s really crouching!’
‘Blind monk discovers the secret spot; the anchor is actually doing that in public.’
g*n God turned bright green with anger upon seeing the chat. He stood up and shouted, “Get lost!”
But that shouted sounded like he was yelling at Xu Xiaofeng.
That yell made many onlookers become restless. They had just been laughing, after all.
“What’s with the attitude? Why so fierce?”
He quickly looked down and apologized, “I’m sorry, I wasn’t talking to Little Sister. I meant the chat.”
The chat!
Hearing this, Xu Xiaofeng understood; he was secretly filming! No wonder she felt so uncomfortable. But wait, this might be a new way to make money!
But she had to play it cool: “What’s a chat?”
g*n God quickly explained live streaming and the chat to her.
Xu Xiaofeng pretended to ponder: “So, you’re saying a lot of people are watching you?”
“Yeah.”
“But why would someone want others to watch them?”
“Uh…” g*n God stuttered. That was actually a really good question. He genuinely didn’t know how to answer.
Meanwhile, the chat was in chaos.
‘Could it be the anchor secretly filmed without obtaining permission for half the morning?’
‘That’s a crime! Real-life consequences could hit you with three years at minimum!’
‘I knew something was off; suddenly this live stream pops up, uniquely designated? Bold name choice!’
Seeing these comments, g*n God panicked.
He had initially only wanted to test the waters, and about the title, anyone could be catchy.
Next thing he knew, his stream shot up to the hot list.
All thanks to the popularity of Nuclear Bomb Little Sister; only players from 66 Village could actually see her in person. The other ninety-nine percent of players were only seeing her pictures. Now they had a live stream? No wonder it was a hit!
And for g*n God, such a hot stream wasn’t something to be tossed aside easily.
“Little Sister, what can we do to let others keep watching you?”
Hey! Isn’t that right to the point!
Xu Xiaofeng felt a surge of joy within but pretended to frown: “I still need to work hard; it can easily affect my job.”
She laid extra emphasis on the word “work,” even repeating it.
g*n God immediately caught on, gritting his teeth, “How about this: I’ll give you five gold coins every day.”
To him, she was basically a billboard girl; whether she got paid was up in the air. Five gold coins were already a hefty price.
But Xu Xiaofeng was cursing him out in her mind. What a cheap way to bribe her! With this traffic, she was eclipsing those so-called stars!
“No way, no way! Grandpa Bond lets me help; I must do it right. Big Brother, you can leave now.”
This guy totally doesn’t get it. I’ll find someone savvy next time. Many people would want to do this.
“Wait, Little Sister, what can we do to get your agreement?”
“This live stream is pretty much the same as watching a theater performance, right?”
“Right, you can understand it that way.”
“I heard from a certain uncle that theater performances need tickets and… what’s it called… tips! If I could earn some money, Grandpa Bond would be really happy.”
Xu Xiaofeng knew these dullards wouldn’t get her riddle and just laid it out flat.
g*n God glanced at the chat and nodded after seeing the positive reactions.
“Alright! Let’s do it that way; we’ll split it fifty-fifty!”
Hearing “fifty-fifty,” Xu Xiaofeng didn’t even have time to voice her opinion before the chat and crowd nearby were already against it.
When you’re just streaming and doing nothing, why on earth should you get half? Get a grip!
Seeing the opportunity, Xu Xiaofeng smirked slightly: “Big Brother, half is already a lot; it’s enough.”
“No way! How can I take advantage of Little Sister?”
Someone shouted loudly, “Sister, here’s the deal! I’ll help you stream, and I only want ten percent.”
“I want half!”
“I don’t want that! Just give me twenty gold coins a day, and that’s it!”
“I’ll take ten gold coins!”
“Five gold coins!”
“Two gold coins!”
Seeing the situation spiral out of control, g*n God shouted, “I’ll do it for free!”
In an instant, everyone quieted down.
They came back to their senses and thought about it, then reacted. Free streaming was definitely enticing! Traffic galore, that’s pure gold; if they could snag even a drop, it’d be enough to thrive.
But since he called out “free” first, joining in wouldn’t mean anything.
Thus, the true designated live stream of Nuclear Bomb Little Sister was born, and Bear Mountain g*n God became an overnight sensation, going from a bathroom streamer to a top-tier anchor.
“Come on, Little Sister, look this way, and give everyone a greeting!”
“Uh-huh.” Xu Xiaofeng thought for a moment, then waved at the camera smiling, “Hello everyone, I’m the little girl selling nuclear bombs.”
With her stunning looks, paired with a pure smile and innocent gestures, the viewers in the live room were obliterated, taking critical hits.
In an instant, the chat flooded, and gifts poured down like rain.
Just one line made the viewers spend three million.
