### Chapter 333: It Has Finally Arrived
The ramp of monsters was constructed with a massive beast as the cornerstone, surrounded by numerous smaller creatures connecting the whole setup.
This created a sturdy ramp that was not easily vulnerable to collapse.
The explosive power from Fiery Conflict Across the Sky and Can’t Sleep wasn’t quite enough to instant-k*ll those large elite monsters.
These critters were meatier than your average elite, sporting sturdy life bars.
However, the smaller elite monsters and regular small critters were reduced to ashes in an instant.
Even those “cornerstones” suffered varying degrees of damage.
The players on the city wall took advantage of the timing, launching a fierce assault that quickly obliterated the entire ramp.
The cornerstone and connections were basically wiped clean off the map.
With a thunderous crash, both ramps crumbled into dust, reduced to nothingness.
The surrounding Bosses noticed the commotion and turned their attention.
At that moment, the third volunteer was ready for action.
Edward merely made a sideways push, and WZC suddenly felt the world cracking like glass.
But it was just an illusion from the super-accelerated moment; he quickly regained his composure.
Edward’s power was precisely controlled, evenly distributed across WZC’s body, or else he wouldn’t have survived the shove.
In an instant, WZC flew a hundred meters.
He glanced down at the horde of monsters and the few Bosses not too far off.
This was the largest monster ramp, the most intense battleground.
And he was about to send this whole section of monsters along with the three Bosses to hell.
The only bummer was that he wouldn’t be able to see it unfold with his own eyes.
With a precise timing, WZC pressed the button, then closed his eyes tight.
The next moment, a spike shot through, piercing right through his chest.
Just as he felt the pain, he lost consciousness, but a smile lingered on his lips.
The last two eggs were his doing too—back when he was just self-indulging, feeling all the thrills.
But this time, he felt complete.
A flash of white light, and WZC reappeared inside the Golden City. He didn’t check his status right away but continued counting down.
The moment he yelled “zero,” a blazing white light ignited on the horizon.
The explosion was like taking a mere nibble out of a gigantic black circle.
Though it wasn’t a big bite, the impact on the monsters was quite something.
The largest ramp dissolved; they would need to rebuild it.
Three Bosses died in an instant, which made the other Bosses more apprehensive.
But they wouldn’t stop.
Breaking through the Golden City was always their primary goal.
The monsters regrouped.
And regrouping took time, giving the folks in the Golden City a breather.
This strike shocked other players too.
Is this a new tactic? Are we playing the same game?
But thanks to this, the city was still holding on.
Edward was equally astonished.
He realized this had to be a legendary super-area magic. If more showed up, clearing all the monsters wouldn’t be out of the question.
The reason he felt he couldn’t influence the situation much was that, as a swordsman, he was better at targeting individual foes and lacked large-area attack capabilities.
Now this magic could do it, but it was obvious it couldn’t be used multiple times.
The three resurrected individuals joined the others again, with them explaining to Edward and Yuliya that they had special life-saving items.
To that explanation, the two didn’t pry.
Then, Yuliya pulled out two items, one in each hand, and handed them over.
“This is better suited for you guys.”
They look at each other.
Holy cow! There’s more!
“This is really the last bit. There’s nothing left now.”
This time, she had indeed emptied her little bamboo basket.
Looking at the two little items Yuliya had handed over, and then watching the Adventurers busy resupplying on the city wall during the pause, Edward suddenly realized he was losing track of the situation.
Did he misjudge after all? Was there a chance they could actually hold on?
First off, the strength assessment was definitely accurate; the Golden City side was at a clear disadvantage.
But the variable was that they didn’t need to defeat the monsters. Their ultimate goal was just to stall for time until the ritual was complete.
Edward had no clue what would happen when the ritual finished, but like the Adventurers, he firmly believed there would be a power that could instantly reverse everything.
Now, there were about ninety minutes left until the ritual concluded, and the barrier’s durability was still over sixty percent.
This was fought for by the Adventurers’ countless sacrifices.
Though his presence made those big monsters hesitant to make reckless moves, what mattered most was undoubtedly the efforts of the Adventurers themselves.
You could say it was entirely their miracle.
In the coming time, the Adventurers would definitely start to show weaknesses, while the monsters would surge like a tide. If they were pressured, even the big ones would charge recklessly.
But if he could exert a bit more strength then, Yuliya would definitely ask him to pitch in as well.
As long as Yuliya stayed inside the barrier, she was safe.
So, maybe, just maybe, there was a chance to hold the city after all!
At least, from Edward’s perspective, he had begun to see a glimmer of victory.
This was hope, and it was enough to be called a miracle.
Soon, the siege continued, with the Adventurers still holding strong.

They didn’t possess Edward’s knack for analyzing the situation thoroughly; they just knew to make each step in front of them count.
The remaining two eggs were used by others to take down the monster ramp one after another.
Same old story: stall for time!
The battle flowed in the direction Edward anticipated; with one hour remaining, the barrier’s durability was at 40%.
Could it be? There’s a real chance for victory!
At that moment, the Bosses outside finally couldn’t sit still anymore.
They made their move; they were ready to charge all at once.
“Heh, looks like it’s time for this old man to help the youngsters a bit.”
Edward muttered under his breath.
Just as he prepared to move, he suddenly sensed something, jerking his head up with a serious expression.
Yuliya, a moment later, followed suit and looked toward the horizon.
Dark clouds were gathering, a storm brewing ominously.
Not just them; even the monsters sensed something, some raised their heads and squeaked a couple of times, then gradually crouched down.
What’s going on?
The players were perplexed but also looked up to see the dark clouds.
In just a few seconds, the clouds had already covered half of the sky above the Golden City.
A thunderclap echoed, swirling within the clouds, with purple lightning and ghostly red light flickering sporadically.
“Is this… Calamity?”
Edward’s eyes widened in disbelief.
How could a calamity appear in this desolate land?!
Yuliya’s expression darkened even further. “It has finally arrived.”
At the same time, the system notification rang in every player’s mind.
Ding! World Boss is about to descend. All players, prepare yourselves!
