Chapter 336: Domineering Attitude Over the World
Outside the Golden City, Edward dodged a strike, panting as he watched the Dragon spin around like a confused pinwheel.
During this chaotic time, he had been using every ounce of speed left to dance around the Dragon, trying to survive amidst a buffet of dangers—sort of like dodging kitchen knives while trying to cook dinner.
The Dragon found this pesky little insect annoying but didn’t forget to keep raining attacks on the Golden City like a toddler throwing a tantrum with a toy hammer.
With the relentless barrage, the Golden City’s barrier was down to less than 20% durability. Oops!
Edward felt truly helpless. He couldn’t fully stop the Dragon, so he was just stretching out the inevitable like a rubber band about to snap.
But now, his magical powers were all but spent, and the only strength he could rely on was about to take a long vacation.
Without the support of his dragon phoenix magic, and battling the aftereffects of his earlier hustle, he could barely keep up the charade.
What was going on inside the Golden City?
Had Yuliya already left the party?
With the barrier in place, he couldn’t sense anything. Talk about a solid WiFi blocker.
Suddenly, the Dragon let out a roar toward the Golden City—a sound dripping with deep and profound resentment, like a cat whose dinner had been stolen.
Next thing he knew, it stopped paying attention to Edward and let out another ear-splitting howl, opening its massive mouth to gather energy like a kid filling their piggy bank.
Its scales shimmered ominously, dark light swirling towards its chest like a mini tornado of bad vibes.
A terrifying wave of energy rippled from its body, causing the Monsters on the ground to huddle tighter than sardines in a can.
Even the folks within the Golden City’s barrier felt the immense pressure and a deep-seated fear creeping in. Yep, this could be the end!
Edward’s existential dread was on a different level. He understood this was going to be the Dragon’s ultimate power hit.
“Must… stop… it!”
He surged forward with one last sprint but tripped over his own feet, nearly taking a dive into the dirt like a clumsy gymnast.
Yeah, his energy tank was practically running on fumes; there was no way he could actually stop this attack.
Or could he?
Legends say that a strong body could serve as a weapon or a shield—a real Swiss Army kn*fe kind of deal.
He flashed a care-free smile. Ah, the thrill of battling a seemingly unbeatable foe brought back the youthful bravado he thought he’d lost!
Those days of glory lived on in his heart—when he was sharp, bold, and flourishing!
And just as the energy reached a boiling point, the Dragon paused, its mouth gaping wide like it just saw the world’s biggest pizza.
Catastrophic energy surged from its chest, racing along its long neck to create a black beam aimed straight for the Golden City.
But wait—Edward had darted right in front of it, sword at the ready: “Release!”
This sword was legendary too, packed with the might of heaven and earth itself. Maybe, just maybe, he could throw a punch back at this beast.
With the dragon’s breath almost upon him, his expression grew steely as he prepared to shout out.
But then, in a flash, a strange yet somewhat familiar power wrapped around him like a cozy blanket.
The next moment, he found himself inside the Golden City. Surprise, surprise!
Simultaneously, a crisp yet cold voice boomed in his ears, dripping with authority.
“Teacher, you take a breather. I’ll handle this next part.”
Upon hearing this call, Edward stammered in disbelief, “Yuliya?”
But there was no reply—just silence, like in the middle of a library when someone drops a book.
The Dragon’s breath reached the Golden City a moment later, barreling toward the barrier with unmatched ferocity.
However, a figure suddenly appeared outside the barrier, standing defiantly in front of the deadly breath—a tiny frame as if it were going to take on the universe itself.
She looked utterly unbothered, standing still like a statue made of iron.
The next instant, a brilliant white light ignited in front of her, creating a stark contrast to the black energy—a visual showdown of good versus evil, with popcorn included.
The suffocating breath of the Black Dragon slammed into the white light, yet it stood firm, like the sun and moon hanging in the sky.
Eventually, the breath subsided, and the oppressive darkness vanished without a trace.
“Wait… blocked?!”
“Who’s this divine powerhouse?”
“Big shoutout to the goddess! Long live the goddess!”
The crowd inside the Golden City buzzed with excitement, relief washing over them like a warm bath after a long day in the trenches—shouts of joy echoing through the air.
But some looked at the petite figure hovering mid-air, suspicions creeping in among the cheers.
Now that silhouette looked oddly familiar…
Though the outfit was drastically different, it… felt kinda like…
Edward, however, could see clearly. That was Yuliya!
But instead of the previous version he knew, the current Yuliya radiated an aura that screamed, “I own this place!”
Even facing the terrifying Dragon, her gaze was laced with pure disdain. Talk about confidence!
She wore a phoenix crown, draped in a regal red robe accentuated with gold trims, which screamed “royalty” and “stay out of my way.”
But the outfit’s change was only secondary; her unfathomable power and the commanding presence she emitted were the real showstoppers.
So strong! Like, can I get that bottle of confidence?!
After the Dragon’s hit, it looked a little worse for wear.
Its furious glare bore down on Yuliya, a recognition dawning on it that she was the Golden Princess—the last hope of the Golden Kingdom, the most essential person to eliminate.
Yet, Yuliya remained unfazed.
With a simple flick of her hand, white light surged again, forming a swirling vortex.
From this vortex, the black energy rushed back towards the Dragon, as if it were a boomerang with a vendetta.
The Dragon’s breath was hurled right back, crashing directly into its own chest. Ouch!
It stumbled back and forth, its flapping wings utterly ineffective as it crash-landed in a cloud of dust and sand.
Yuliya didn’t even spare it a glance; she turned to inspect the barrier instead.
Good news! The barrier held strong.
The Golden City was standing tall, with just a few bruises decorating the walls but nothing too severe.
She reached out to touch the barrier, which glowed golden in response.
Its durability began to bounce back—20% shot up to 60% faster than Edward at a buffet!
Just then, a high-pitched dragon roar echoed from afar, with the massive black figure charging toward them like a freight train.
“Annoying creature,” Yuliya muttered, retracting her hand before zipping toward the Dragon.
Taking down this beast might take some effort—it was best to keep the battlefield a tad wider, after all!
