Chapter 364: A Mind Like a Steel Trap
After a brief moment, Yuliya’s figure appeared outside Emerald City.
She still had one last task left to tie up.
She glanced at her quest log. Even though her game character was deleted, the quest log was still here, hanging around like that one relative who never knows when to leave.
And there it was, the last remaining quest—“Tragedy of Blue Moon City.”
A group of people, whom she had once saved, were waiting for a proper home.
Yuliya showed up at the cave. It looked pretty much the same as before, except the folks inside seemed to be living just a tad better.
She had been through countless experiences, but the common folk of the Jade Emperor Kingdom remained stagnant like a couch potato binge-watching reality TV.
She gathered everyone there.
After a few months apart, the villagers seemed to miss “Miss Wind” — or Princess of Radiant Sun, if we’re being formal. They greeted her with enthusiasm, like puppies that hadn’t seen their owner in ages.
After returning their warm welcomes, Yuliya got to the point.
“I’m here today to hope you all move to Emerald City. I’ll be away for a long time, and I hope during that time, you’ll thrive.”
“Are you leaving, Your Highness?”
“Can we come with you?”
“We don’t want to go to the city!”
Yuliya was about to flat-out say “no” when suddenly her eyebrows furrowed, drawn to a statue in the center of the village.
“What is that?”
“Well…” Morey scratched his head sheepishly, “It’s a statue the villagers made for you, Your Highness. But our craftsmanship is… uh, a bit lacking. It turned out quite… unique. Please don’t punish us.”
Yuliya jumped in front of the statue for a closer inspection.
Indeed, it was more like a human-shaped blob than a statue.
However, her eyes glimmered with golden light as she perceived something deeper.
“Is this… could it be wish power?!”
Pure wish power!
She had seen this before in Golden City during her awakening ceremony.
“Never thought I’d see something like this…” Yuliya murmured in awe.
Finally, she turned to all the villagers: “Do you really want to come with me?”
“Absolutely!”
“I’m going far, far away. The journey might be filled with danger. You still want to tag along?”
“We owe our lives to Your Highness; we must repay you with all we have! Even if it means jumping into the fiery pit, we’re in!”
“Alright then.”
Yuliya sighed heavily, “If you want to come with me, you’ll need to change your living situation. I have a much better place for you. It’s called Golden City.”
The villagers chorused, “We’ll follow Your Highness’s arrangements!”
“Then let’s go.”
With her hands crossed in front of her, Yuliya erupted in golden light, whisking the villagers and their belongings off to Golden City like a magic show gone right.
Ding!
The long-lost system notification chimed in.
The “Tragedy of Blue Moon City” quest series has been completed. Congratulations, you’ve received a reward—Great Wish Technique.
“Great Wish Technique? A skill book?”
Yuliya tried to pull it out to take a look, but the skill melded right into her body instead.
At the same time, she realized she now had the power to control wish energy.
The skill’s grade? Grey.
Was it locked? Or just incomplete?
“Sister Tong, what’s going on here?”
“Your Highness, this is the last thing I can give you. It’s one of the most important secrets of the Golden Kingdom, so keep it under wraps—I’m not even fully acquainted with it myself.”
“Got it.”
Even if she didn’t understand it now, she was sure her past self, along with her father and mother, had plans in place.
With everything wrapped up in Emerald City, it was time to set sail!
Yuliya leaped to Emerald City, stocked up on sufficient supplies, then headed to the Teleportation Array to journey to the imperial western border.
On the map, the Jade Emperor Kingdom sat in the lower right of the shattered Human Race continent, with vast new worlds waiting to be explored to the west and north.
In the Emerald City Royal Palace, Edward knocked on a door before stepping in.
Elia merely lifted her gaze for a moment, then returned her focus to the documents on the table, casually asking, “Did Little Yuliya leave?”
“Yeah, she’s gone.”
Elia nodded, unfazed.
“She asked me to give you these two items before she left.”
Elia shot her head up like a cat seeing a laser pointer, “What is it?”
Edward handed over a jade stone and a ring.
Elia quickly took them, giving them a once-over.
The jade stone was confusing, but the ring was obviously a space ring crystal, likely packed with goodies.
She slipped the ring on and extended her senses.
“What is…?”
With a flash of white light, everything inside the ring popped out.
The first thing that caught her eye was a… life-sized doll of Yuliya.
Elia picked up the other two scrolls.
One was a user manual for the doll, or rather a final farewell letter disguised as a manual.
In the letter, Yuliya’s tone was much lighter, sounding more mischievous, as if she were talking in person.
“Goodbye, Big Sis! I’m setting off on a great adventure today. Don’t worry about me; I’ve got oars of happiness and wisdom.”
The letter also mentioned that this doll was essentially her clone, crafted with tremendous effort.
Placing it in the palace not only allowed for some entertainment, but it could also ward off disasters and evil. Who knows, maybe one day Little Yuliya would pop out from this clone!
The other scroll was about the jade stone, describing it as a formation.
Following the steps in the scroll, Elia spread her perception through the jade.
In the next moment, she was astounded to find it covered the entire imperial city.
Hearing her read it so casually, one might think it was just a fun little game.
This formation was very advanced and powerful, and Elia could barely comprehend a fraction of its defensive capabilities.
She retracted her awareness and looked down the scroll, gasping in shock.
Not only was this formation defensive, but it also had surveillance capabilities and could perform a one-time large-scale teleportation if necessary.
The defense could withstand three full-force attacks like the calamity from the Desert Realm last time.
With surveillance precision, Elia, holding the jade stone, could instantly grasp the situation of everyone and everything in the imperial city.
Lastly, the teleportation could send all people in the imperial city to… the Verdant Empire!
Elia opened her mouth, then shook her head with a chuckle, “When did she orchestrate something this grand? I had no idea at all.”
She handed the formation’s manual to Edward.
Edward skimmed it quickly, drawing in a sharp breath.
“This little girl really knows how to worry! Not only does she care for us, but she’s also looking out for you and the empire.”
“Knowing she’s so meticulous puts my mind at ease. Looks like we won’t have to worry about her out there.”
“She’ll return safely.”
“Yeah.” Elia looked out the window at the sky, “She’ll come back with new hope.”
After a moment of silence, Edward suddenly waved his hand, “Oh, right. I need to introduce you to someone; it’s a girl Yuliya brought from the Verdant Empire. I think you’ll like her.”
“Hmm?”
“Alisa, come in!”
