### Chapter 387: A Shared Aura
Yuliya appeared outside the Golden Gate.
She glanced at Rowlin and Dora; their life force was weak—almost on its last legs.
Martina and Gillian were doing better, though.
Yuliya placed her hands on their foreheads, injecting some energy to stabilize their vital signs, then suppressed the curse clinging to them.
“You two stay right here, don’t move. I’ll be back soon.”
With that, she set up a barrier just in case and slipped back into the inner space.
Inside, the place was deserted; Eber had vanished, leaving behind a few wisps of black energy.
Corrupted by the forces of gods and demons, everything just faded away upon d*ath.
Sighing, she stopped worrying about that and shifted her focus to the empty space before her.
After sweeping inch by inch, she found herself towards the back of the center.
She had seen through the mechanisms; several layers of space were stacked together, and different triggers would draw out different things.
For the Golden Kingdom, this setup was a piece of cake.
She directly approached the most precious treasure and gently touched it.
A small magic array unfolded, revealing two little boxes.
One was long and the other was square.
She opened the long box first.
Uh… it was empty.
Seems like the “Dragon and Phoenix Power” had been taken.
Next, she opened the square box.
Inside was… an egg.
Yuliya took the egg out, inspecting it from left to right.
A legendary egg?
What a find!
So, do I need to hatch this egg?
But how on earth do I do that?
Staring at the egg that was roughly the size of her head, Yuliya pondered for a moment.
How about sitting on it?
Wait, no! I’d just be a broody hen! Too embarrassing!
After thinking a bit more, she decided to cradle it in her arms.
Let my broad bosom warm you!
Yuliya sat on the ground with the egg in her lap and began channeling energy into it.
The egg quickly responded, beginning to absorb her power.
After nearly ten minutes of this, Yuliya was starting to feel drained, but the egg’s energy consumption finally tapered off.
She hurriedly took the egg into her hands to inspect it.
Crack, crack, crack—several fissures appeared on the surface.
The cracks widened rapidly until they pierced the whole egg.
Suddenly, pop! The egg split open, revealing two small black eyes, blinking back at Yuliya in a wide-eyed stare.
“Ga? Ga!”
Without warning, the top of the eggshell shot off, and a yellow blur sprang out, darting up Yuliya’s arm and landing on her shoulder.
It spun around on her shoulder before hopping to her other hand.
“What a lively little guy! Looks like a sable, a golden sable!” Yuliya chuckled at it.
Then, it opened its mouth and tried to bite her thumb.
Yuliya’s smile froze on her face as she yanked her hand away, grabbing the little creature by the scruff, pulling it close for a face-off.
Yuliya puffed her cheeks, sealed her lips, and glared intensely—definitely not pleased.
The little guy mirrored her expression, wide-eyed and whining, also not pleased.
“Uh? What’s going on here?”
Yuliya blinked.
The little creature kept opening its mouth and yelling, “Ga ga!”
“Uh… are you… hungry? Makes sense; you just hatched.”
Looking around, Yuliya spotted the eggshell and floated it over to the little guy’s mouth.
But it just blew it away with a puff, continuing its ruckus.
“Won’t eat? I thought most newborn animals chomp on their eggshells! Why are you so picky?”
Yuliya frowned, contemplating, “Could it be… you still want to absorb my power?”
After a moment’s thought, she sent some energy from her hands to it.
The little creature stopped crying instantly, squinting its eyes in pure bliss.
“Look at this little… thing,” Yuliya laughed, “Eating like that is just too cute.”
Who squints and enjoys their food this much?
Laugh riot.
But after a while, she found it hard to keep laughing.
This little critter… seems to have a big appetite!
Hatching it drained her some, and now it was back for seconds, feeling like an endless energy vacuum.
Honestly, I might not be able to keep up… Who knows how long it’ll keep eating? I’ve got things to do, you know!
So, Yuliya decided to take a break.
“Ga? Ga!”
The little guy protested.
“Hey! No food? Child ab*se!”
Yuliya and the little guy shared some kind of unique bond, clearly reading each other’s thoughts.
Her forehead twitched as she hoisted it up to her face: “I was thinking you were abusing me! What if you s*ck me dry?!”
“Goo…”
The little creature looked pitiful.
It was already sad, but Yuliya felt even sorrier!
But wait, it was a newborn!
Suddenly, Yuliya seemed to have an idea.
You want energy, huh? What about some other energy? Dessert after dinner!
She reached into her pocket and pulled out a little ball.
Oh, to be precise, a transparent, soul-white thing she had rolled up into a sphere.
“Want to give this a try?”
“Ga?” The little guy hesitated, but eventually leaned in, opened its mouth, and licked it.
It could lick it! Most people couldn’t even touch a soul! Truly a masterpiece from my Golden Kingdom.
“How is it?”
“Ga!”
“Great! Go ahead, enjoy!”
The little guy immediately bit into it.
Yuliya noticed that every time it took a bite, the strange soul quivered violently.
Definitely not your average snack!
Perfect for repurposing.
“Little guy… I think I’ll call you Huang from now on.”
The little creature looked up and squeaked, “Ga!”
“Not a fan? Then… how about Ga?”
“Goo!!!”
“Alright, alright. Then… Li! I’ll be Yuliya, and you’ll be Li; it works out perfectly.”
The name seemed to please the little guy, and thus it was settled.
Yuliya watched as Li chowed down on its treat.
But as she kept watching, her own stomach started grumbling.
What could she do… being drained too much by Li!
“What a glutton! At this rate, I’ll go broke feeding you! If I’m poor, it’ll be totally your fault!”
But Li wasn’t having any of that, continuing to savor its dessert.
Yuliya rubbed her tummy, glancing around, thinking it couldn’t just go and nibble on that old monster’s soul, right?
Suddenly, her eyes lit up as she spotted… an eggshell.
Can that thing be eaten?
Looks like it could be!
She stealthily reached out and cleaned it up, then took a lick.
Hmm… not bad? Chocolate flavor?
She glanced at Li, who was also looking back at her.
Finally, they both turned, biting into their respective snacks.
In the next moment, they both squinted their eyes in bliss.
Delicious! What a delight!
