Transformed Into a Fallen Princess, I Sell Nuclear Bombs at the Beginner Village – Chapter 455

Chapter 455: History of the Races

Yuliya had no idea that she had become the big cheese at the news agency; even the president had to watch her expression!

Even if she found out later, she would just shrug it off.

That was her style—don’t bother me unless it’s important, and if it is, figure it out yourself!

Everyone was a mature journalist now, and should learn to self-review.

Currently, she was on her way to the History Academy’s research building.

After class yesterday, she had spent some time chatting with her mentor, Danny, asking a few questions, and now she was here to grab some documents.

Upon arriving at the building, she just waltzed in.

Inside, there were only a few people scattered around, a stark contrast to the bustling Magic Academy.

The History Academy had always been sparsely populated, and with the mentors often off gallivanting to ancient ruins, it barely had enough staff to keep things running.

Yuliya found the right room by the door number and knocked.

“Mentor Danny, it’s Riya.”

“Come in.”

With that response, Yuliya opened the door and stepped in.

Before her were several rows of cabinets filled with what looked like ancient treasures, and a mountain of papers piled beside them.

The whole room was crammed, leaving just a walkway and a tiny spot cleared on the desk.

This setup was a far cry from her own office, which, by the way, was basically a ghost town. No mentor would ever have an office as barren as Euphilia’s.

Danny pushed aside a pile of documents, creating a spot for Yuliya. “Ha! It’s a bit of a mess, my apologies.”

Yuliya chuckled and shook her head, indicating it was no big deal.

Danny handed her several books from the side. “These are the materials you asked for about the origins of various races, but a lot of it is just hearsay and lacks solid historical evidence. After all, the origins of races are closely tied to major secrets, so it’s tough to find the real deal.”

“And we can’t trace back the origins of the human race; it’s way too ancient.”

“It’s kind of laughable, isn’t it? Here we are, part of the human race, and we can’t even see our own history.”

Danny’s expression was a mix of melancholy and resignation.

This was the tragedy of every human.

“It’s fine. History is easily concealed and distorted. The fact that we’ve achieved this much means the mentors here are working really hard,” Yuliya tried to offer some comfort.

She felt a twinge of sorrow herself.

Deep down, she knew that the history of the human race was purposely obscured by those celestial beings.

The ancient human race held too many secrets.

Once, the Golden Kingdom was so prosperous it was coveted and feared.

And in that golden era, besides the Golden Kingdom, there were four other human kingdoms of similar size.

They might have been overshadowed by the Golden Kingdom, but any one of them would be something to marvel at today, colossal and majestic like mountains.

Not just the celestial beings; she herself was also concealing some truths.

Those in the know wouldn’t spill, while the ignorant couldn’t even begin to fathom the splendor of that bygone world.

The human kingdoms stood shoulder to shoulder with the mighty celestial beings.

Yuliya casually flipped through the books.

After a moment, Danny said, “Now that it’s a bit quiet, let me give you a brief rundown on the history of the races.”

First, of course, was the human race. According to Danny, they appeared in this world at least ten thousand years ago, but traces of the past had completely vanished. The oldest human ruins currently found are estimated to be around eight thousand years old.

Yuliya could understand the disappearance of past traces, but why on earth were the oldest ruins only eight thousand years old?

The Jade Emperor Kingdom had existed for nearly ten thousand years!

“I’ve heard some rumors that there are obscure, ancient places where countries have existed for over five thousand years? Is the oldest ruin only eight thousand years?”

“Who have you heard that from? I haven’t come across anything like that!”

“…”

How was she supposed to respond to that?

Forget it. No response.

“Perhaps I misheard.”

But Yuliya confirmed that they genuinely had no idea about the situation in the Jade Emperor Kingdom.

Well done, Sister Tong!

Danny resumed his explanation.

As he said, other races, besides humans, had some rough historical development.

The Beastmen appeared about five thousand years ago, claiming to be a race created by the celestial beings.

However, based on various investigations, they likely originated from beast tribes. Maybe the celestial beings did give them a push, evolving them from “beasts” to “beastmen.”

The other races like dwarves, crystal beings, and three-eyed tribes migrated from outside the world between three thousand to five thousand years ago, gradually growing and flourishing.

And let’s not forget the Elves.

They also came from beyond the world, specifically from the so-called Elf Forest.

They were the last to arrive, and while they can’t be called flourishing, they had a certain high-esteem despite their small numbers, boasting significant influence among the races.

This related to Saint Felis Academy, but whether they were esteemed enough to establish it or became prestigious afterward was unprovable.

At this point, Yuliya’s eyes began to narrow.

She thought of a possibility.

Since the gods really existed in this world, and the Elf god was indeed very powerful, if the gods could come to a consensus, many things would become much easier to manage.

But there was one thing Yuliya couldn’t fully grasp.

Why did the beast gods push for the transformation from “beasts” to “beastmen”?

Theoretically, beastmen were their favored children, so why bother creating beastmen? It seemed unnecessary.

Such a transformation wasn’t something a celestial being could just decree; it required payment, and transforming a race of such massive numbers came at a great cost.

Moreover, after becoming beastmen, they posed a potential threat—higher intelligence made them harder to control.

“Now this is quite an interesting situation,” Yuliya muttered.

“History has always been interesting,” Danny chuckled in agreement.

He was quite pleased with Riya as a student.

Young people who earnestly study history and actively research it are a rare breed.

Most students at the History Academy learn history simply because they can’t keep up in other departments and were forced to come.

Many are short-sighted, hoping to find lost technologies and powers in the past, rushing in and out of ruins without taking the time to think.

But in Danny’s view, that was a bit of a foolish endeavor.

History is wise. It’s the source of power; mastering the source is key to developing a system. Once all is dissected and understood, everything from the past is laid before you.

And not just chasing after spells and artifacts.

“Next week, I’ll be heading to an ancient beastmen ruin. If you’re interested, Riya, you can join me.”

Yuliya’s eyes lit up at that: “Awesome! Please, Mentor Danny, take me with you!”
