Transformed Into a Fallen Princess, I Sell Nuclear Bombs at the Beginner Village – Chapter 460

Chapter 460: Battlefield Ruins

Danny first took Yuliya to the Lord’s Mansion in the city.

As representatives of Saint Felis Academy, it was only polite to report their business to the locals.

The battlefield ruins might be open to the public, but it was always better to give the homeowner a heads-up — you never know when trouble might pop up and needing a helping hand could come in handy.

Such was the privilege enjoyed by the students of Saint Felis Academy.

Once they wrapped up their business and exited the city, strolling across the deserted fields, Danny continued from where he left off.

His theory that a Divine Being was intentionally directing the racial wars was based on a multitude of information pieced together.

First off, this was during the period when the Divine Being was perceived as watching over the world.

It was said that if you were lucky, you might catch a glimpse of their figure if you looked up.

But for the human race, that time was more like an agonizing trial.

Naturally, the gods of other races had no pity for humans, whose living space was steadily being squeezed.

In contrast, the Beastmen had plenty of room to roam.

Danny had investigated, and during that time, the Beastmen were living large, with everything going their way.

The sea was wide enough for fish to leap, the sky high enough for birds to fly.

With no survival pressure and all conditions perfectly suited for their growth, they were thriving.

Yet, amidst this, there arose an astonishing war between two major factions of the Beastmen.

Typically, the primary goal of most wars is to snatch up survival resources, followed by desires like conquest and vendettas.

But none of these conditions for war applied to the Beastmen back then.

While these were side arguments based on the context of the situation, they still weren’t enough for Danny to jump to the unimaginable conclusion of “the gods are leading the war.”

He hadn’t really considered it during his last visit either.

What really sealed the deal for him was the discovery of a new area not long ago.

“In simple terms, this new area is heavily infused with religious elements. It’s quite strange to see such things on a battlefield. It’s hard to explain, but once you see it, you’ll feel it.”

Danny shared his recent research findings with Yuliya, leaving nothing out.

He thought highly of this student.

At the same time, he hoped to gain some insight from her.

He knew that Riya had earned the label of “Excellence” mostly due to her keen insight and imagination.

These two traits were essential in research.

Exceptional insight allows you to see what others can’t, and exceptional imagination lets you think what others dare not.

Not just for history researchers — this applies to all kinds of study.

Yuliya nodded thoughtfully.

What Danny was saying was quite fascinating.

She was ready to think outside the box, but it was still up to Danny for the proof.

“Teacher, I understand, but we really need to see the ruins to grasp the specifics.”

“Hahaha, naturally! But once we reach the ruins, do stick close to me.”

The two exchanged no more words and headed straight for the ruins.

After half a day’s trek, Yuliya noticed the sky ahead was dark, with occasional flashes of lightning, a clear sign they were nearing the destination.

“There it is! This kind of celestial phenomenon is caused by the various forces accumulated within the ruins. It will fade slowly, but it’ll take a long time.”

“The power of the main ruins has long dissipated, but the newly uncovered area is still overflowing with power. We initially found that area due to a chance display of this power. But please, do not wander around inside the ruins. It’s dangerous.”

Yuliya nodded in response.

She was well aware of the dangers lurking within the ruins.

Especially one that had recently been unearthed; the forces inside had brewed for who knows how long, intertwining in a complex mess that the average person simply couldn’t handle.

“There are others.”

Yuliya suddenly pointed into the distance, spotting a few tiny figures.

“Seeing others is normal — it is an open ruin, after all. But most of them are just opportunists looking to snag treasures. Many like them have eternally laid to rest within these ruins.”

Danny expressed his disdain.

He was an old scholar after all, and naturally looked down on such people.

But Yuliya found them endearing; they were adventurers!

Adventure was all about heading into danger.

“Teacher, should we go over and say hi?”

Danny shook his head. “I don’t see the point. We can just head straight into the ruins; others will only hold us back.”

“I don’t think so,” Yuliya grinned at the figures. “Sure, going directly into the ruins is efficient. But there are bound to be troublesome spots inside, and having adventurers’ help might be better then.”

“Don’t worry, I have plenty of adventuring experience; I can handle any problems.”

Even though Danny dedicated himself to history, in this world, researchers also had to pack a punch.

To pursue research, one had to first reach the pinnacle of their own strength.

Yuliya noticed that Danny’s prowess was at least close to legendary.

Danny preferred not to take shortcuts; he didn’t chase the powers of history blindly, focusing instead on the overall historical system.

He was the type who built slowly but surely; maybe once he figured out the historical context of this situation, he could burst through to legendary status in one go.

“I totally trust you can handle it, but sometimes getting your hands dirty can be rather messy, right? Sometimes allowing others to assist could be more effective.”

Danny was the type who wanted to handle everything himself, believing his involvement was the safest bet.

But sometimes that approach could actually lead to a loss of efficiency, like a professor picking off low-level monsters.

Yuliya was different; she would delegate whenever possible.

Like now, her main job was to be a student, not an adventurer, so of course, all the adventure stuff in the ruins should be left to the adventurers!

Slacking off? No, no, no, that’s not slacking, that’s conserving energy, getting ready to strike when the time is right!

After mulling over Yuliya’s insistence, Danny finally nodded.

He had brought her along to see her perspectives.

Even ideas on small matters could be respected.

“Working with adventurers is fine, but we can’t let them derail our main goal.”

“Don’t worry, Teacher! I have a plan. As long as we keep our roles clear, our goals won’t conflict.”

“But what if we discover something vital inside the ruins, and they want it too?”

Yuliya shrugged and replied nonchalantly, “Then we’ll just kick them aside when the time comes.”

“Uh… this…” Danny was at a loss for words.

Is it really okay for a little girl to be this ruthless in her approach?

But on second thought, maybe that was entirely reasonable — that’s just how it should be!
