Transformed Into a Fallen Princess, I Sell Nuclear Bombs at the Beginner Village – Chapter 473

Chapter 473: The Elves’ Mission

At the entrance of the ruins, Danny and the gang had already been waiting forever.

Sifann had just returned, bringing along a few people. Some entered the underground ruins while others, like them, stayed put.

After all this time, Danny was surprisingly calm. His protective aura was still buzzing with energy.

This indicated that Riya was safe and sound.

In the short term, it didn’t mean much, but with the time stretching on, it at least confirmed that she was keeping her snacks up to date and could fend for herself down there.

Maybe the situation wasn’t as dire as he had feared.

Just when they thought they would be stuck waiting indefinitely, the ground suddenly began to tremble like it was auditioning for a earthquake role.

“What’s happening?”

“Something’s up underground!”

“This level of shaking can’t just be a minor issue; something big has to be going down!”

After a spell, people started emerging from the entrance.

“What’s going on? What happened?”

“No clue! The ground shook and the monsters below went berserk! We just bolted out!”

“How could they go berserk out of nowhere? They should have cleared this place a hundred times by now!”

While many were pouring out and discussing the chaos, a dense black smoke erupted from the entrance, swirling with a nasty necromantic vibe.

Nearby folks practically jumped back like they were avoiding a flying banana peel. That much d*ath energy wasn’t just a mild inconvenience—it was a hard pass!

The d*ath energy gushed out like an overzealous fountain, growing thicker by the second.

Before they knew it, spooky skeletal monsters started oozing out along with the black smoke.

But before they could start a monster party, the sunlight gave them a swift kick back into the shadows.

However, as the black smoke kept pouring out like a dramatic villain in a movie, dark clouds began to blanket the sky, casting a murky shadow over the land.

It was as if the cheerful daylight got dunked in a bucket of gray paint and was out for the day.

Everyone stared at this sudden shift in the scene, eyebrows merging in confusion.

It felt like something was about to crawl out of a graveyard for a midday snack.

Danny was staring daggers at the ruins’ entrance, his expression darker than his morning coffee.

Jaine and Sifann moved closer. “Professor, what’s going on?”

Danny shot Jaine a glance that could make a lesser man quiver but answered in a serious tone, “I’m not entirely sure… The d*ath energy is surging outward, which might just be a recurring phenomenon for this area. But there’s a chance something is pushing out from below.”

“Pushing out?” Sifann scratched his head, “What could shove d*ath energy out like it’s ordering takeout?”

“Like, a massive power explosion.”

And just like that, it was clear why special things always came with their own dramatic flair—a balance being upended could lead to a glorious mess of chaos spewing from the ruins.

As soon as Danny finished speaking, the ground shook violently again, nearly knocking everyone off their feet.

At the same time, the entrance exploded with an even larger wave of d*ath energy, and there came a gold-level monster crashing out.

Following the monster, a searing heat rushed forward—a black shadow flickered without a hint of flame.

Everyone was shoved backward again, but this time with a twist: cracks started to spread across the ground.

Now and then, d*ath energy seeped out through these cracks, giving everyone the heebie-jeebies.

After that explosion, the sky was completely enveloped in ominous clouds, and sunlight was as forgotten as last year’s fashion.

Within that murky coverage, purple-black lightning danced wickedly.

At this point, everyone was laser-focused on the reality—this was definitely no seasonal event, that much was certain. Something abnormal had definitely been unleashed in the ruins.

“You two keep waiting here, I’m going back!”

Danny tossed his indecisive tendencies aside and bolted in the direction he’d just come from.

The only reason he had stuck around was that if he strayed too far from Riya’s aura, he’d lose his guide to her well-being.

But now, with the ruins throwing a tantrum, he couldn’t wait any longer.

Sifann crossed his arms and glared at Jaine, “I shouldn’t have trusted you. Look at this mess we’re in now!”

Jaine shrugged, “I didn’t think things would escalate this much!”

He squinted up at the chaotic sky.

He knew something would happen, but this was like a surprise party no one wanted to attend.

If he had known it would blow up this way, he would’ve stayed home with a bag of chips.

He glanced around, ready to make a run for it, but just as he did, he was grabbed by a hand.

Sifann glared at him, “You want to bail now? A bit late for that, don’t you think?”

Jaine sighed, “Alright, guess we’ll keep waiting a little longer.”

Above the battlefield, the skies were growing more dramatic by the second, and soon many towers across Rensyi Kingdom were buzzing with reports of the anomaly.

“Has it started?” An elderly wolfman peered from a height, murmuring, “I thought it would have failed by now, but there are always some fools clinging to hope.”

Across from him, an elder from the Leopardmen tribe sighed, “Who knows how many casualties we’ll have this time around?”

Both their races had been the most brutally impacted before, so they understood the pain, but not everyone could relate; hence, things like this kept happening.

Inside Saint Felis Academy, in the headmaster’s office, Mitina was reading through the recent edition of the Saint Felis Daily.

The latest issue was quite amusing, even if the content was the same as always—something about it just made her giggle and want to read again.

Suddenly, she sensed something and jolted to her feet.

She discarded the newspaper, confirmed no one was around to interrupt, then whirled around to open a cupboard behind her.

Out came a beautifully decorated box.

After some intense puzzle-solving to open it, she revealed a compass inside.

One corner of the compass began to glow red.

Aligning it with the direction, she gazed out the window at the sky and sighed, “How long has it been since something like this happened?”

This was her, or more accurately, the elves’ responsibility here: to prevent divine beings from directly meddling in this land.

Every time something similar happened, it left chaos and ruin in its wake.

Divine beings were only to be gazed upon from a distance; if they got too close, it was like getting a dose of toxic waste, and d*ath was the only end.

And trying to stop a divine being? Easier said than done. What price must they pay?

Mitina gazed anxiously at the sky.

Then, she thought of someone.

In a way, she was one of them.

If it were her, maybe it would be a bit easier!

With determination, Mitina pocketed the compass, activated the teleportation array in her room, and headed straight to the Magic Academy’s research building.

She quickly arrived outside Euphilia’s research lab.

Then… bang!

She bumped right into something.

“A barrier?” She stared at the transparent barrier in front of her, feeling a bit speechless.

What was even more speechless was that she had no way to deal with this barrier anytime soon!

“Headmistress? What are you doing here?” Okor peeked out in surprise after sensing some commotion.

“I’m looking for her. What’s going on?” Mitina pointed at the barrier.

“Professor Euphilia doesn’t want to be disturbed right now…”

Mitina furrowed her brow, “Then how do I get to her?”

“Uh… you wait! I’ll go find someone!”

Okor dashed off to find Kaise.
