Chapter 487: The Pervert
When it comes to everyday activities like these—what’s been going on, who’s been hanging out with who—let’s face it, it’s all about snooping for gossip!
And if you want to check out the juiciest gossip, nothing beats the feisty Feihua News Agency.
Way more professional than the student council or even the academy!
Our girl Yuliya, in her role as the chief editor, took it upon herself to gather the info, and her excuse? She was hunting for a big scoop!
As soon as “big news” was mentioned, everyone perked up faster than a cat spotting a laser pointer. They wrapped up the data collection in less than a day!
You’ve got to admire the speed of gossip hunting.
Yuliya meticulously sifted through the information.
According to the intel, Nancy and Mevis were known as the “good kids” at the Martial Arts Academy, with Mevis snagging rave reviews and top-notch grades.
These two were as regular as clockwork. Mevis’s routine was so rigid it could raise eyebrows.
Up at six for an hour of morning exercises, no matter if it was sunny, rainy, or even if they were out adventuring or frolicking.
Nancy wasn’t as extreme, but she usually tagged along with Mevis during school hours.
So, one point for ruling them out as suspects.
Yulphilia initially thought the same.
Next, it was all about digging into their social circles.
Mevis was your classic quiet good student, shy and hardly ever reaching out to others. You could even tell this from her brief interactions with Yulphilia.
On the flip side, Nancy was as lively and bubbly as a soda pop! She might not be a social butterfly, but she was friendly enough with everyone.
When paired together, Nancy usually took the lead, dragging Mevis along for fun.
Their different personalities complemented each other, and they were quite the popular duo at the academy.
This meant they had a fair few acquaintances, especially thanks to Nancy.
Yuliya scrolled down her notes, hunting for suspicious characters.
At this point in the investigation, if they were off the table, that left only the possibility of an acquaintance as the culprit.
And in that list of familiar faces, Yuliya had her eyes on quite a few unusual suspects.
Even if everything seemed above board, no problem—she’d just check everyone out.
After all, combing through a dozen or so suspects wouldn’t take that long—a quick chat about their whereabouts, and something would surely slip.
So, she highlighted a few key suspects, added the rest, and compiled a list.
Then she handed it over to the Security Team for some sleuthing.
After a spell, they eventually uncovered the final suspect.
He was brought to the Security Team, and right in front of the team, the barrier maintenance group, Yulphilia, Nancy, Mevis, and the academy head Mitina, a final trial took place.
Mitina had caught wind of the situation and dropped in for a look.
An entire month of antics happening right under their noses, and Mitina had heard about it multiple times.
As soon as she arrived, she sternly demanded that Yulphilia take this matter seriously.
But Yulphilia shot back a question: “What’s the progress on the barrier reconstruction plan?”
That stumped Mitina; she fumbled through excuses about how the urgent matter at hand was more important and all that jazz about focusing on the now.
Yulphilia shrugged; let’s cut Mitina some slack and consider this a break for her.
In the impromptu courtroom, Mitina and Yulphilia claimed the prime seats at the front, with other teachers lined up beside them and key figures from the Security Team and student council hovering around.
At a glance, it really gave off an aura of seriousness, with just enough pressure to make anyone sweat.
With a bang on the table, Mitina declared, “Confess everything you’ve done and what your plans are, no lying!”
Yulphilia shot Mitina a glare.
She didn’t even know the student’s name! For a bunch of them, it was the same story.
Isn’t the first step in an interrogation to get names and IDs?
But Mitina’s authority was undeniable. A stern reprimand had the student folding like a deck of cards.
And so he confessed.
This student was Galqi, male, and ID number… okay, that one was missing.
In any case, he was the one causing all the ruckus in room 316 of that building every day!
This had been going on for over a month, barring a few days when things felt dicey.
He hadn’t done anything too wild—just been testing out his self-created magic.
And the motivation behind it? Drumroll, please… he liked Mevis!
That’s right, he and Mevis were in the same club and frequently crossed paths during activities.
Mevis was smart, good-looking, gentle, but also quite determined—just brimming with all sorts of admirable traits.
After a while together, he started feeling lovey-dovey and decided it was time to confess.
But he’d heard that Mevis had shot down several admirers before; if he went for a simple “hi, I like you!” he risked the same fate.
So, he thought, why not pull off a grand gesture? Something romantic, innovative, and unforgettable.
He dedicated loads of time to inventing a special magic for this.
Here’s the catch, though, the magic only showed good results at night.
And at night, students were usually banned from roaming outside, and the dorm’s barrier restricted magic levels.
So, he had to figure out a way to cast his spells in Mevis’s dorm and, oh, wouldn’t you know it, they had a spare room!
The final headache was how to dodge the big barrier’s alarms.
For the past month, all he had been doing was testing ways to avoid the alarms.
After hearing Galqi’s explanation, everyone in the room went quiet.
It was somewhat abstract yet totally reasonable.
There had been many records of people confessing to Mevis and/or Nancy in the intel they gathered.
Of course, this linked back to Feihua News Agency’s snooping; they had their sights on this angle.
Looking at the list of confessors, it included a mix of names, each with its brief description, culminating in a uniform “rejected” stamp.
Yulphilia put her hands on her hips and sighed.
Ah, youth! Isn’t it grand to be young?
Galqi wasn’t on that list because he hadn’t confessed yet.
But let’s be real! Dude, for the sake of confessing, you’ve been sneaking into their dorm every night for a month while they’re asleep to pull this off?
Are you here to profess love or collect souls?
Even the Grim Reaper wasn’t this industrious!
And of course, Mevis’s face was a mask of horror as she huddled in the back, almost screaming the magic words:
“Pervert!”
Yulphilia facepalmed, utterly bewildered.
All this fuss, and it was all for that.
But after a moment’s thought, she finally said, “Since you’ve put in this much effort, why don’t you show us what your magic is like?”
Even if he clearly had no chance, it’d be a waste not to showcase the result of all that hard work.
Others perked up out of curiosity.
Galqi pointed towards the window, “But it only works at night…”
Yulphilia snapped her fingers, and the room dimmed, “Go ahead, it’s showtime!”
Galqi gave Mevis a glance and started chanting his magic.
When the magic burst into brilliance, everyone saw a half-n*ked guy with a rose in his mouth—a striking resemblance to Galqi himself!
And then he… started flexing.
With a final smooch and a saucy wink, a line of text popped up—“Baby, I like you.”
The crowd: …
Mevis: “Ahhh! There’s a pervert!”
