Chapter 100: You Two Are Actually Quite Good!
“Shh!!”
Linyan quickly scurried over to the window. After confirming no one was outside, he shut the window and drew the curtains.
Luo Chen explained from the side, “Brother Bai, this isn’t just any old girl’s outfit—you don’t think these few dresses look kinda familiar, do you?”
“…Master Chun Qiu’s works on women’s clothing, huh?”
Bai Feng wasn’t just thinking they looked familiar; he’d already seen something similar over at Yu Yao’s place.
“I knew you’d recognize it easily, Brother Bai.” Linyan pulled out one outfit after another from his storage pouch, even handed two to Bai Feng. “Bro, these are yours. Don’t say I’m not showing brotherly kindness!”
Bai Feng… was speechless.
He stared at the two dresses in his hands, feeling utterly dumbfounded.
Should I say thank you? You guys are actually quite good at this!
“By the way,” Bai Feng lowered the dresses he was holding and eyed Linyan and Luo Chen doubtfully. “Who are these dresses for? Don’t tell me you’re planning to wear them yourselves!”
“No way,” Linyan shook his head. He raised the dresses, eyes sparkling. “Of course, they’re for collection. I even plan to carve a puppet with a carpenter for display purposes.”
At that moment, Luo Chen spoke in a confused tone, “Huh? Aren’t they bought for yourselves?”
Bai Feng and Linyan: “?”
Little bro, what’s your deal?
Linyan’s face turned weird. He silently moved two steps closer to Bai Feng. “No wonder Luo Brother’s clothes are much bigger—I thought you had a very… unique taste!”
“Cough, Brother Luo, we understand you’ve been heartbroken by women, but you can’t just give up entirely!” Bai Feng also moved two steps, forming a united front.
Linyan nodded in agreement. “Yeah, yeah. There are still plenty of good women out there. Brother Luo, you just had some bad luck.”
“What are you talking about?” Luo Chen twitched at the corner of his mouth, showing some embarrassment. “I’ve come to terms with it a long time ago. Besides, you guys told me to think of myself more, find some hobbies or something.”
“We did say that,” Bai Feng added, “but that doesn’t mean you should go around wearing dresses!”
Bai Feng side-eyed Linyan, as if asking whether he’d said something weird to Luo Chen.
Linyan shook his head lightly, looking a bit gloomy, as if he also didn’t understand why Luo Chen was into dresses.
“Hmm, I thought my idea was pretty good,” Luo Chen shrugged, seeming to give up on the dress idea. “Looks like I need to buy a few smaller-sized outfits.”
Seeing Luo Chen give up on the dress plans, Bai Feng and Linyan both relaxed, sighing in relief.
“By the way, Brother Lin, you might want to prepare a few more puppets,” Bai Feng suggested after learning Luo Chen’s thoughts. “I heard Yu Ling Long and Master Chun Qiu have advanced their cooperation. Master Chun Qiu made some new illustrations and outfits for Yu Ling Long—you should be able to buy them in a few days.”
“Yay!” Linyan clenched his fist excitedly. “When I go back, I’ll find a good carpenter to carve me some puppets!”
Bai Feng looked at the two ‘Child of Destiny’ with a complicated expression.
When did these two start going off the rails?
One turned into a homebody obsessed with changing puppet outfits, and the other almost became a dress-wearing queen.
Bai Feng glanced at the system interface.
Phew, good thing the system didn’t give him some weird notification.
“Oh—and I almost forgot the main thing,” Bai Feng took out two Array Disks from his storage pouch. “These are my portable Array Disks. One’s a Multi-Function Fire Array, and the other is an Illusion Array. With some Demon Path folks around, if you run into trouble, don’t hesitate—just activate these.”
“Recently, everyone’s been talking about how the portable Array Disk is made by Bai Brother, huh?” Linyan looked amazed, reaching out to take the Fire Array Disk. “In that case, I won’t be polite—I’ll send you any Pill you need.”
Luo Chen sighed. “Sadly, I don’t know alchemy or forging, so I have nothing much to offer in return.”
Suddenly, Bai Feng instinctively thought of Luo Chen’s dresses and shivered involuntarily. He quickly waved his hands and said, “Guys, why overthink this? Brother Luo, if you feel guilty, just k*ll a few more Demon Path guys when you encounter them!”
“Yeah, got it,” Luo Chen nodded without false modesty after taking the Array Disk.
“Oh, and please keep this under wraps—I don’t want to reveal myself for now,” Bai Feng added.
Linyan thought for a few seconds before asking with a puzzled look, “But we’re all in the Heavenly Sword Sect. Won’t others easily guess your identity, Bai Brother?”
“It’s fine. They’ll just guess my master, Master Liu,” Bai Feng waved dismissively. He wasn’t worried.
After all, he was just a Golden Core Stage disciple. No matter how talented, it was unlikely he could craft a portable Array with five stars by himself.
So, the only suspicious person would be his master, Liu Meng.
Having a caring master who looks out for his apprentice is truly important.
Linyan nodded. “Since Bai Brother and Master Liu already have plans, I don’t need to worry either.”
……
“About this Array Disk—I’m not planning to make it into a reusable one, so I won’t restrict it to just one Array Disk,” Bai Feng explained to Su Lan Qian. “This part isn’t difficult; I want you to help me handle it.”
Su Lan Qian quickly nodded. “Okay.”
“If you have questions, just ask me. Once you get proficient, I’ll teach you other parts.”
“Alright.”
After chatting for a bit, Bai Feng resumed his work on a new round of Array Disks.
He decided not to produce fifth-rank arrays anymore, focusing instead on third- and fourth-rank arrays.
After selling two fifth-rank arrays, it would be unwise to flood the market again with them so soon. How would his customers feel?
So, he planned to reduce fifth-rank Array sales, increasing third- and fourth-rank ones to keep the prices high and stable.
Once he mastered sixth-rank arrays, he’d ramp up the sale of fifth-rank arrays again.
Plus, the multi-functional Animation Stones, expanded from the Animation Stone, were already in development. Once ready, they’d be released together with Chun Qiu’s new books and could fetch a good price.
If he managed to perfect multi-functional Animation Stones, they’d probably make more money than portable Array Disks in the future.
Just as Bai Feng finished a few portable Array Disks and was about to research Animation Stones, there was a sudden knock on the door.
“Brother Bai, I’ve made up my mind!” Gu Yue Qing opened the door and stood outside, visibly excited. “I want the Golden Armor Array. Better if it can be a bit smaller!”
