**Chapter 122: Bai Feng’s Increasing Skillfulness**
“Whew… whew…”
Bai Yu Mo stood atop the lifeless body of an enemy, bl**d dripping from the tip of her sword like a leaky faucet.
Around her, a mountain of fallen foes lay scattered.
“Still haven’t found that person…” she muttered, glancing around before taking two steps forward, only to stumble and kneel on the ground, propping herself up on her sword.
After high-intensity battles, her spirit power was nearly depleted, and her body bore numerous wounds—her white robe was stained a delightful shade of red.
After a few seconds of panting, she managed to rise again and continued forward.
“Yu Mo, maybe take a breather?” Yu Yao suggested, eyeing the corpses on the ground and recalling how Bai Yu Mo had recently lost her marbles. A hint of fear crept onto her face. “At this point, even if you found that person, you wouldn’t be able to beat her!”
“…Yeah,” Bai Yu Mo quietly nodded. Yu Yao was right; even if she found Bai Feng now, she’d just be a hindrance.
So, she popped a pill into her mouth without a care for the bl**d-soaked ground, plopping down cross-legged to recover her spirit power.
Seeing Bai Yu Mo hadn’t completely lost her sanity over Bai Feng’s disappearance, Yu Yao breathed a little easier.
‘Little junior brother, you better come back safe!’ she silently prayed while staying close to Bai Yu Mo. ‘I still have so many outfits I want to show you…’
Meanwhile, suspended in mid-air and taking a beating from Black Lotus, Chu Ning Yan suddenly paused. A tired smirk cracked her face. “Looks like your plan went belly up.”
Black Lotus stayed silent, her previously relaxed demeanor replaced with an ice-cold expression. “Hmph, a bunch of useless trash.”
She glanced at the numerous fallen demon faction members, saw no further opportunity, and left without a word. A body fell from the sky, landing with a squishy thud.
With Black Lotus gone, Chu Ning Yan finally relaxed her tense body. The fatigue on her face was no longer something she could hide.
“No wonder the Divine Monarch of the Demon Path can go toe-to-toe with those holy sects; she is really tough to handle.”
She landed on the ground and leaned against a wall to catch her breath.
Although Black Lotus was using the body of a Transformation God, the techniques she wielded were not limited to just that stage. Chu Ning Yan suspected her true strength was probably at the late stage of Fusion; otherwise, the fight wouldn’t have been so grueling.
At that moment, Yu Yao, who had been monitoring the battlefield, noticed Black Lotus leaving and dashed over excitedly.
“Master, little junior brother has been…”
Before she could finish her sentence, Chu Ning Yan waved her hand, laughing. “Don’t worry, Bai Feng has… oh, he’s already here.”
As she spoke, she pointed towards the street, where Bai Feng and Su Lan Qian were hurrying over.
Yu Yao followed Chu Ning Yan’s gaze, her face lighting up with surprise. She waved her hands and quickly rushed toward Bai Feng. “Little junior brother!”
But someone was even faster; in the blink of an eye, Bai Yu Mo sprang up from the ground and raced to Bai Feng’s side.
“Brother…”
She reached out in excitement, but then halted, realizing she was covered in bl**d. A bit too messy, wasn’t it?
“I’m back,” Bai Feng said with a smile, opening his arms wide for a hug, “Sorry to worry you!”
“Wah…” Bai Yu Mo’s resolve crumbled, throwing her arms around him and resting her head on his shoulder, quietly sniffling, “I’m sorry, I still couldn’t protect you…”
“It’s okay; this batch of enemies was too strong, it’s not your fault.” Bai Feng gently patted her back in comfort, “If you really feel guilty, turn that feeling into motivation to get stronger.”
“Yeah…”
Bai Yu Mo nodded softly, and under Bai Feng’s comfort, her wave of guilt began to ebb.
*Good, emotions are stabilizing.*
Bai Feng smiled slightly; at this point, he was getting quite skilled at comforting Bai Yu Mo.
Ah, Master, this time I won’t let you find any opportunity!
As Bai Yu Mo composed herself, a blush crept onto her face, and she quickly released Bai Feng. “S-sorry, I got a bit too excited.”
Bai Feng waved his hand with a grin. “No problem, little sister relying on big brother is perfectly normal; just remember, I’ve only got one shoulder to lend!”
“Uh…” Bai Yu Mo’s mood suddenly sank a bit, but she still managed a smile and then noticed the bl**d on Bai Feng’s clothes, feeling a bit shy. “Brother, when we get back, can you take off your shirt, and I’ll wash it for you?”
“We’ll talk about that later.” Bai Feng glanced at his bl**d-stained attire with apathy, then turned to Yu Yao, whose clothes remained relatively clean, sporting a bright smile. “Sister, look at the trouble I went through to escape. Isn’t it time for a hug for your little junior brother?”
“You…” Yu Yao’s eyes widened, staring at Bai Feng’s dirty clothes, her expression filled with disdain. “After I worried so much about you, you just want to see me humiliated, don’t you?!”
Though she pretended to be annoyed, she stepped forward and jumped onto him, wrapping her arms around his neck. It was less of a hug and more like she was hanging on him. With a hint of irritation, she asked, “Is this enough?”
“Uh… I was just joking.” Bai Feng chuckled awkwardly and quickly added, “I can’t wash clothes!”
“You wish!” Yu Yao hopped off him, her once-clean outfit now sporting some bl**d splatters. “You think I’m washing your clothes after that?”
She gave a little huff and turned away, a hint of pink creeping up to her ears as she did so.
“Brother…”
At that moment, Bai Feng’s sleeve was suddenly tugged. He turned to see Bai Yu Mo looking a little scary.
She pointed behind him at Zuo Qiu, her tone icy. “Why is she here?”
“Cough, it’s a long story.” Bai Feng glanced at Chu Ning Yan, who was watching from a distance, then suggested, “Let’s go talk to Master; I have things to report too.”
“…OK.”
Bai Yu Mo nodded, her grip tightening on Bai Feng’s arm, while her other hand subtly drew her sword, ever ready to keep a close eye on the former enemy.
Moments later, they reached Chu Ning Yan’s side.
“Master.”
“Good to have you back.” Chu Ning Yan smiled, “That little girl’s identity, Liu Meng just told me about it. Now, start by telling me what you encountered in the temporary space.”
“Sure, here’s the thing…”
Bai Feng began his tale, carefully omitting any mention of the Immortal Fire because, let’s face it, anything related to immortals could definitely create a frenzy among the cultivators—better to keep it under wraps!
