Chapter 123: You’re Not Seriously Craving My Body, Are You?
“So… does that mean she’s been controlled by Black Lotus?” Chu Ning Yan mused thoughtfully, casting a quick glance at Bai Feng. “But what really shocks me is that you actually managed to sweep out the demon energy inside her. Using flames to burn it from within? That’s some next-level thinking.”
And what’s even more ridiculous? Bai Feng actually pulled it off.
Bai Feng smiled awkwardly. He knew this was totally out there—who’s ever heard of someone daring to stuff spiritual fire inside their own body to burn toxins? Unless, of course, they have an attribute fire spiritual physique.
“This situation’s quite complicated, and it also involves Black Lotus. I fear I can’t make the call myself. We’ll wait until we return to the Heavenly Sword Sect, and the Sect Master will decide,” he said.
Chu Ning Yan shook her head, then turned to Zuo Qiu, reaching out and tapping her forehead. “I’ll seal your cultivation first. Before we get back to Heavenly Sword Sect, don’t leave the City Lord’s Residence. I won’t be holding back just because you’re a disciple of Refining God Sect.”
“Yes!” Zuo Qiu nodded hurriedly, relieved.
The first hurdle was cleared. Things looked much better than she’d expected—she’d worried she might be imprisoned, but now it’s just a matter of sealing her cultivation and restricting her movement.
Apparently, Bai Feng is more valued by Heavenly Sword Sect than she thought—if Bai Feng hadn’t asked for mercy, she might not even have survived.
Just then, Bai Yu Mo tugged on Bai Feng’s sleeve, leaning in and whispering slightly annoyed, “Brother, are you really planning to make her your servant? She was fighting us with swords before. Keeping her around is just asking for trouble.”
“Relax, I’m not that stupid,” Bai Feng waved dismissively. “I definitely need to observe her first. Plus, I’m not about to let this go. I need someone to take on Black Lotus, and coincidence has it that she’s had some ‘experience’ with Black Lotus before.”
“But I still don’t trust her,” Bai Yu Mo said, her brow furrowing.
Bai Feng saw her still a bit annoyed but nodded, understanding her concerns. He then reached out and gently rubbed her pouty little face. “So, after you go back, you better focus on practicing. Stop doing random stuff. The higher your cultivation, the safer I am. I’m counting on you to protect me.”
“Mm… yes, I’ll work hard on cultivation,” Bai Yu Mo replied, her mood somewhat lightened when she realized Bai Feng wasn’t planning to bring a new ‘bodyguard’ along.
Thinking it over, Bai Feng trusted her more than Zuo Qiu—after all, she’s practically family now. Bai Feng definitely trusted someone with a sister’s identity more than an outsider.
Meanwhile, Chu Ning Yan ignored the teasing from the little ones and glanced over at the divine monarch who had already retreated far away. After losing the divine monarch’s help, Xue Tu’s situation immediately became dire—his chances of victory slim to none.
She turned to everyone and announced, “Alright, the battle is mostly over. You all should go back and rest.”
…
On Central Continent.
In a dim cave, five pitch-black figures sat around a stone table.
One of them surveyed the others and said, “This is probably the most we’ve seen in hundreds of years, right?”
“Hahaha, well, who wouldn’t be mad if Black Lotus caused such a mess in Northern Region?” sneered a sinister voice. “Those holy lands aren’t happy with us now!”
“Exactly! And Black Lotus, you’re being a bit too reckless,” warned a burly shadow, eyeing the elegant black figure. “We recruit cultivators, not set off fireworks for fun!”
“Yeah, if you succeeded, fine. But wasting so many people and then losing? That’s just embarrassing,” a tiny figure chimes in, nodding. “I’m starting to doubt if you’re still fit to sit in that position.”
“Hah! You guys don’t understand my inheritor’s value,” Black Lotus scoffed. “If we succeed, it won’t just be holy lands—our rivals, even all the orthodox sects combined, wouldn’t be our match.”
“But you failed,” the first shadow said simply. “Talking about the future is pointless. It just makes you look like a spoiled clown. We’re not into righteous sects or that whole deal.”
“I propose Black Lotus fight the holy lands to punish her,” someone suggested.
“Agreed.”
“Same here.”
“No objections.”
Black Lotus half-closed her eyes, sweeping a glance over the crowd. “Ahem—anyone want to ask for my opinion?”
“They started this mess, don’t count on us cleaning up after you,” they retorted.
Tch. Fine, I’ll go mess with those holy lands,” she sighed as if giving up. “Just hope you’ll all regret it later.”
…
When the divine monarch’s people left, Xue Tu was no match for Divine Sword Peak’s peak master—especially since Chu Ning Yan had freed herself. Soon enough, he was defeated and decapitated.
With that, the great array’s construction faced no more obstacles.
However, City Lord Gu and Heavenly Sword Sect remained on high alert until the formation was fully complete. Bai Feng used this time to help revise the ‘sh*t-coded’ array inside Yu Ling Long, which had been shut down for repairs.
“Is this advertisement too small?” Yu Yao rubbed her chin, pointing out various insane or sensible ideas, clearly revealing her owner side. “And over here—I think I should display the clothes I made.”
“…The screen’s only this big, you really want to cram everything in?” Bai Feng clenched his fists, biting back a complaint. “You know what’s called ‘leaving space’—if you fill it too much, no one will bother to look.”

“Eh, I guess so,” Yu Yao scratched her cheek. “You do it yourself, little junior brother, I won’t suggest anything messy.”
“You said that half an hour ago,” Bai Feng said expressionlessly. “And since I entered Yu Ling Long, you’ve said it three times. Now this is the fourth.”
“Hahaha…” Yu Yao awkwardly chuckled. “This time I really mean it—I won’t say anything more.”
After she finished, she covered her mouth with her hand.
Bai Feng sighed, focusing once again on fixing the ‘sh*t code’ that the previous array mage left behind.
At this moment, he deeply appreciated how huge the gap is between major sects and wandering cultivators.
Major sects usually have mature, systematic frameworks. But wannabe holy lands or small to medium sects mostly rely on some mysterious array manuals or inherited techniques they got from nowhere, cobbled together without a proper system. It’s a miracle when they even manage to run.
If not for his Yin-Yang Eyes—basically a cheat—he doubted even his master, Liu Meng, could fix it.
Rebuilding was much faster than trying to fix bit by bit!
“Senior sister, next time don’t skimp on the cost—hire a professional for array construction,” Bai Feng murmured as he continued to modify.
“I actually hired a well-known array mage nearby… didn’t skimp on money,” Yu Yao whispered, then looked up at Bai Feng with a smile. “Next time, I’ll find an even more professional rebuild expert!”
Bai Feng flinched under her gaze: “What are you looking at me for?”
“And who’s more professional than little junior brother?” Yu Yao threw herself at him. “Come on, little brother, you gotta agree, right?”
“I charge a lot,” Bai Feng pushed her face away, firm. “Don’t expect me to make it easy for you to save money.”
Yu Yao waved her hand generously. “It’s fine, money isn’t a problem. If necessary, I’ll split my Yu Ling Long branch with you—half for me, half for you!”
Bai Feng stared at her for a few seconds, scratching his chin suspiciously. “Wait… are you actually craving my body?”
