**Chapter 133: How Can You Wrongfully Accuse Someone Like This?**
Xuan Guang City.
A handsome young man stood at the entrance of the auction house, his smile slightly frozen as he noticed more guests arriving. He quickly rushed forward to usher them inside.
Once he confirmed there were no more guests, he hastily rubbed his stiff face.
Technically, he wasn’t even an official employee of Yu Ling Long yet; he was still in training. With the recent auction, they needed a few temporary workers to help out, and since the pay was decent, he jumped at the chance.
He had thought that being in an ordinary city’s auction would be a low-key affair, but today’s buzzing atmosphere slapped him right in the face.
“Scary!”
He inwardly gasped, realizing not only were there tons of guests, but everyone’s cultivation levels were terrifyingly high.
This was just an auction house in a regular Northern Region city. What would it be like in a big city?
Not only were there powerhouses, but what about that Portable Array Disk for auction? He had never even heard of it before!
While Eastern Continent was mostly composed of islands with an oceanic vibe, making it tough for arrays to develop, the royal family claimed to be descendants of dragons, had mediocre relations with the Northern Region and Central Continent, and looked down on the Southern Region’s Monster Tribe. This commitment to self-seclusion had made Eastern Continent lag behind, except for the booming herbal medicine trade which was growing mostly due to alchemy.
But come on, this is too much!
Had the Eastern Continent closed itself off to this extent?
Meanwhile, his uncle and even his siblings seemed blind to it all, squabbling over scraps of power like it was the hottest game in town—what a joke!
At that moment, he suddenly felt that revenge wasn’t everything, or rather, that life shouldn’t be just about revenge.
Though he kind of grasped that feeling, he still hadn’t figured out what he should actually pursue.
“Fang Yue, why are you just standing there? Let’s get a move on, we’re on break!” A fellow trainee waved him over. “The auction has started! You wouldn’t believe the ‘bloodbaths’ going on inside! Goodness, their bidding prices are more than I’ll earn in a lifetime!”
Fang Yue was stunned for a second, then realized he was being called. He patted his forehead, apologetic. “Sorry, Brother Chen, I was lost in thought.”
“Were you thinking about some cute girl?” Brother Chen teased with a grin.
Fang Yue quickly shook his head. “No, just trying to wrap my head around arrays. It’s my first time dealing with this, and I’m worried I won’t learn it well.”
“Hey, who isn’t?” Brother Chen agreed vigorously. “I heard our boss has close ties with the master who made that Portable Array Disk. The array knowledge we’re learning is from him. If we do well, who knows? We might get to apprentice under him!”
“Really?” Fang Yue’s eyes widened a little.
“Everyone’s buzzing about it, and the higher-ups haven’t denied it.” Brother Chen stroked his chin, adopting a mysterious expression. “Fang, you might not know this, but…”
“Currently, the Portable Array Disk is sold only in Xuan Guang City, so it obviously has something to do with our boss, Yu Ling Long! And now, she’s teaching us about arrays like it’s the most natural thing in the world. If you think that the special product we’re supposed to make has nothing to do with that array master, well, I’m not buying it!”
Fang Yue shook his head instinctively.
“I even heard this master is Liu Meng from the Heavenly Sword Sect. When the Demon Path invaded Xuan Guang City recently, the city used the Portable Array Disk to push them back! If we’re lucky, we might just connect with the Heavenly Sword Sect!”
“Wait, seriously?” Fang Yue’s eyes were wide open now.
“Brother Chen, are you pulling the leg of a newbie again?”
Just then, a chuckling voice came from the side, and Fang Yue instinctively turned to see a skinny fellow, another trainee.
“How can you slander someone’s reputation like that?” Brother Chen glared.
“Reputation? Please! It’s all just unverified gossip. You’re just spinning tales for the clueless young ones.” The skinny guy scoffed, then turned to Fang Yue. “Fang, don’t overthink. However, Brother Chen is partially right; the master behind the Portable Array Disk is indeed acquainted with our boss, but whether we’ll actually meet him is a different story.”
“Geez, talking to you isn’t any fun,” Brother Chen huffed, pouting. “Let’s go take a break. We have more array stuff to study tomorrow!”
Fang Yue hurried to follow behind, but a new thought brewed in his mind.
He wanted to meet this array master. He wanted to become his disciple.
Not just for revenge, but to find a way forward for the Eastern Continent; they could no longer afford to stay this self-isolated!
—
“Finally arrived in the Northern Region.”
Inside a luxurious carriage, a girl with dragon horns gently pulled aside the curtains, glancing at the bustling crowd outside, her heart feeling a bit lighter.
Ever since her father passed, the royal palace had descended into chaos. The Little Princess was missing, and her siblings were squabbling over the throne like it was Black Friday. Recently, things had even escalated to intense conflicts.
Although she had no desire for the throne, as long as she was within the palace, she couldn’t escape the turmoil of power.
No matter how much she backed down, even declaring her disinterest in the throne, her siblings still wouldn’t let her off the hook.
They even suggested she marry into the Monster Tribe!
She couldn’t take it anymore and devised an excuse to escape under the pretense of studying.
“What’s wrong with everyone? Is that throne truly worth this fuss?”
The Dragon Girl leaned against her cushion, sighing. Hiding like this wasn’t a solution; she’d have to return eventually.
“Let’s just take it one step at a time.”
Having finally reached the Northern Region, it was also a chance to observe their way of life. If she could discover a way to calm the chaos in Eastern Continent, that would be the cherry on top.
With that thought, she pulled open the carriage curtains and called to the maid following behind. “Xiao Jin, please gather news about recent happenings in the Northern Region.”
“Of course, Your Highness.”
—
“The Princess from Eastern Continent wants to learn at the Heavenly Sword Sect?”
Bai Feng frowned slightly. This princess shouldn’t be a Child of Destiny, right?
He pondered for a few seconds and decided that it probably wasn’t.
This character traveling from afar with the title of princess was either a sidekick to the main character or a potential romantic interest.
So, there was no need to worry too much about it.
“Looks like things are a bit chaotic on the Eastern Continent lately. She’s probably just seeking refuge.”
Xiao Qi nodded, her eyes fixed on him in anticipation.
“Got it! Xiao Qi, you’re so reliable!”
Bai Feng smiled and reached out to ruffle her hair. She squinted with delight, basking in his affection.
