Chapter 156: Even My Cat Dancing Is More Interesting Than That Brothel
“Heh heh… I did it! Hmm, Bai Feng, don’t do that… I’m not mentally prepared yet…”
Su Lan Qian suddenly snapped awake with a dazed look. She looked around her dimly lit bedroom, her sluggish brain refusing to process what was happening: “Huh?”
‘Bai Feng? Weren’t I supposed to look for Bai Feng? Am I actually dreaming right now?’
She cast a glance outside the window, where darkness reigned, then shifted her gaze to the unfamiliar bedroom layout. Her foggy mind finally managed to clear a bit.
This isn’t her bedroom!
She lowered her eyes and looked at the blanket covering her. The familiar scent on it made her swallow hard.
‘No! Don’t think about that kind of stuff!’
She swiftly stopped her dangerous thoughts.
“Oh right, wasn’t I here to help? How come I’ve been sleeping at Bai Feng’s place all day? No way, I can’t just lie around anymore.”
Although reluctant, Su Lan Qian hurriedly got out of bed, reached out, and pushed open the bedroom door.
The moment she did, she saw Bai Yu Mo carrying a tray of food walking out from the kitchen.
Bai Yu Mo froze instantly. She looked from Su Lan Qian to the bedroom behind her.
Setting down her chopsticks, her expressionless face subtly darkened with a hint of menace: “Why are you coming out of Bai Feng’s bedroom?”
“I… I… I don’t know either…” Su Lan Qian stammered, taking two steps back in fear. She felt like she was facing not Bai Feng’s little sister, but a waking giant beast.
“‘Don’t know?'”
Bai Yu Mo muttered softly. Her fists clenched involuntarily—indeed, this girl was incredibly annoying!
“What are you arguing about?”
At that moment, Bai Feng appeared, pushing the door open. He glanced first at Bai Yu Mo, still looking expressionless, then at the worried-looking Su Lan Qian, and explained: “Senior Sister Su came to help, and I saw she was too tired, so I let her rest in my room for a while.”
“Brother, I don’t think it’s very appropriate to let her sleep in your room,” Bai Yu Mo said with some dissatisfaction. “I’ve never even slept in your room!”
“You’re right. I might have overlooked that,” Bai Feng nodded without rebuttal. “I’ll build a dedicated resting chamber later.”
He then looked at Su Lan Qian. “By the way, Senior Sister Su, want to join us for a meal?”
“No, no!” Su Lan Qian hurriedly shook her head. Bai Yu Mo was too dangerous; she dared not stay for dinner. “Um, I… I’ll head back first. I’ll come help again tomorrow!”
“Hmm, Senior Sister, take care on your way,” Bai Feng nodded without trying to hold her back.
After Su Lan Qian left, he turned to Bai Yu Mo. “Alright, let’s eat too.”
“Hmm…” Bai Yu Mo kept her head lowered, eyes often drifting toward Bai Feng’s bedroom, lost in thought.
A few minutes later, as Bai Feng sat at the dining table eating, he saw Bai Yu Mo come out of the kitchen and head straight for his bedroom.
Moments later, she emerged clutching sheets and quilts, then ran out of his room.
“Brother, I remember your sheets haven’t been changed in ages. I’ll wash them for you,” she said, then vanished in a flash.
Watching this, Bai Feng slowly chewed on his meat—perhaps he picked the wrong route again?
…
On the flying boat heading toward Tian Luo City, Yu Yao leaned close with a cheeky grin. “Junior Brother, need a tour guide? Tian Luo City’s way bigger and way more fun than that tiny Xuan Guang City. Missing out on exploring would be such a tragedy!”
Bai Feng raised an eyebrow and casually responded, “If you’re paying, I’ll go.”
“Hehe, of course I am.” This time, Yu Yao didn’t seem annoyed at all—instead, her face lit up with excitement. “I’ve got the plan all set! First, we hit Zui Yue Xuan for a good meal, then we swing by Dao Xiang Fang to buy some snacks. During the day, we can browse all the shops, then come back to my courtyard to relax—eat, drink tea, and snack in style…”
“All about eating, huh? Nothing fun to do?” Bai Feng grinned, a bit skeptical.
“Are you planning to go to the brothel to listen to songs, Junior Brother?” Yu Yao tilted her head and asked.
Almost instantly, Bai Feng noticed a few people glancing his way.
He ignored the sidelong looks and shook his head. “No way.”
That place was too easy to trigger some luckiest child incident again—way too dangerous compared to that auction house.
“Fine, I’ll follow Elder Sister’s plan then,” Yu Yao said with a smile. “Besides, the brothel isn’t really that fun. Honestly, my cats dancing beats that place any day.”
Bai Feng’s curiosity instantly piqued: “If you say so, I really gotta see how your cats dance.”
He’d never seen a cat dance before, and honestly, that sounds way more entertaining than listening to tunes at a tavern.
While chatting with Yu Yao, Bai Feng also glanced at the other folks on the boat.
Several familiar faces were there—Bai Yu Mo, but also Lin Yan and Luo Chen, two luckiest children; Princess Shui Miao Miao from Eastern Continent; Su Lan Qian, who had come with Liu Meng; even Zuo Qiu was around. Plus, a bunch of direct disciples from various peaks—way more than when they last headed to Xuan Guang City.
…
“Tomorrow, we’ll reach the Northern Region. Finally, I can see you again,” Yun Shi Mei whispered softly as she sat on the flying boat, watching the rushing scenery outside.
Strictly speaking, she’d never truly met Bai Feng in person in reality.
Now, Bai Feng didn’t know her either. Should she pretend they’ve already met when they do—just to avoid scaring him? Or should she arrange a proper encounter?
If it’s a chance meeting, how can she act naturally?
Yun Shi Mei fell into deep thought.
“Yun Shi Mei?” Suddenly, Xiao Shi Jie came over, seeing her lost in thought. She chuckled and teased, “Are you thinking about your fiancé? You haven’t even met him yet, right?”
“That’s why I’m nervous,” Yun Shi Mei replied flatly, then looked at Xiao Shi Jie. “Elder Sister Xiao, what do you think I should say when I meet him?”
“Feels like you’re already falling for him just by thinking about meeting him,” Xiao Shi Jie snorted, then thought seriously. “Is your family acquainted with his? Start from there. It’ll give you lots to talk about and you won’t run out of things to say halfway.”
Yun Shi Mei nodded thoughtfully. “Thanks, Elder Sister Xiao. I think I’ve got a plan now.”
Using her father as an excuse to visit Bai Feng wouldn’t be too awkward. Yep—this is the way!
