Chapter 203: “Those Deliciously Frisky Snacks”
“Senior Brother Bai, what are you up to?” Shui Miao Miao asked curiously as she tiptoed over.
“Junior Sister Shui? What brings you here?” Bai Feng turned with a smile, teasing, “You didn’t forget today was your day off, did you?”
“No! I swear I didn’t!” Shui Miao Miao shook her head hurriedly. “I just suddenly had some free time and got bored, so I thought I’d come over and do some more training.”
Bai Feng was slightly surprised—usually Shui Miao Miao was the kind to slack off easily. Who knew after a few days of training she’d become so committed?
But he still shook his head. “Your enthusiasm isn’t bad, but too much of a good thing can be bad. Rest when you need to rest. If you’re that bored, how about helping me sample some desserts?”
“Okay!” Shui Miao Miao nodded obediently and waited patiently beside him as she watched the cake bake.
A few minutes later, Bai Feng extinguished the flames. He pulled out a tiny metal basin from the oven, looking at the puffed-up batter inside with satisfaction. “Looks like I nailed the heat control.”
Next, he pulled out another treat—something that looked like a small, golden steamed bun, but hollow inside.
“Let’s head inside,” Bai Feng said, carrying the baked goodies into the house.
By then, Su Lan Qian had already tidied up the table and added another dollop of cream onto a plate.
“Eh? Senior Sister Su is here too?” Shui Miao Miao’s heart suddenly thumped a bit faster. She instinctively hid most of herself behind Bai Feng, stretching out a hand to greet Su Lan Qian.
“Hello, Junior Sister Shui,” Su Lan Qian only glanced at her briefly before quickly looking away.
’She seems a bit difficult to get along with,’ Shui Miao Miao mused. But wait—why was Su Lan Qian here?
Oh right, Bai Feng was also Liu Meng’s disciple. If so, they probably got along pretty well.
And she’d heard weird rumors about Su Lan Qian—stuff like she spent a ton of money just to buy Bai Feng’s close-fitting clothes, and her house was full of Bai Feng’s used belongings. If those rumors were true, then their relationship wasn’t so simple.
Even worse, maybe Su Lan Qian snuck into her bed at night, holding Bai Feng’s personal garments, cheeks flushed red…
No! Shui Miao Miao smacked her own head. Those were just rumors—fictional stories. Senior Sister Su wouldn’t do such things!
Su Lan Qian tilted her head, seeming confused by Shui Miao Miao’s odd behavior.
Bai Feng, as usual, was unfazed. He brought out the turntable for the whipped cream and waved to Shui Miao Miao and Su Lan Qian. “Come on, I’ll teach you how to make cake. Shui Miao Miao, help me whip the puffs.”
“Yeah!”
“Alright!”
Bai Feng took out the piping nozzle for the cream-filled puffs and showed Shui Miao Miao, “Puffs are easy. Just put the cream into this little bag, then stick the metal tip into the puff, and slowly squeeze the cream inside.”
“Oh…” Shui Miao Miao nodded, thinking it sounded pretty simple.
“I’ll demonstrate first.”
Bai Feng grabbed the bag and started filling it with cream, then picked up a hollow bun-shaped puff shell, jabbing the tip into it.
“Very simple—you just squeeze the cream inside. Be careful not to squeeze too much.”
He removed the piping tip, and through the hollow, she could vaguely see the filled cream inside.
“Now, Shui Miao Miao, your turn.”
At this point, Shui Miao Miao froze as Bai Feng worked on his puff. Her face flushed a little, and she lowered her head.
She hesitated and said shyly, “Um, I… I don’t think I can do that, huh?”
“Huh?” Bai Feng looked puzzled.
“Injection of… white…” she suddenly realized, then hurriedly waved her hands. “No, no! I didn’t say anything! I’m just going to make puffs!”
She snatched the bag from Bai Feng, then poked it into the puff shells one by one, filling them all with cream.
Lowering her head, she seemed eager to hide her embarrassment behind the busywork.
Bai Feng: “…”
He couldn’t help but think—Junior Sister Shui Miao, maybe you’re not quite as serious as you look?
’Forget it, maybe her imagination is just that vivid,’ he reasoned. No big deal.
He chose to make puffs because he thought, hey, cream is perfect for puffs—delicious and easy to eat. Plus, they just happened to be making a few while baking the cake.
“Senior Sister Su, I’ll show you how to make the cake,” Bai Feng turned to teach Su Lan Qian as Shui Miao Miao’s minor chaos subsided.
……
Shui Miao Miao picked up a puff she had filled herself, eyeing it nervously—kind of not wanting to eat it.
Meanwhile, Bai Feng came over, took a small puff, and popped it into his mouth. “Mmm, tastes good. Junior Sister Shui, try one.”
Under Bai Feng’s recommendation, she finally took a cautious bite.
The puff’s exterior was chewy, and the cream inside melted smoothly in her mouth, sweet and rich.
“Delicious.”
She chewed slowly, then glanced again at the half-eaten puff, and her hand instinctively squeezed it again, as if trying to confirm its flavor.

Watching the cream slowly ooze out of the puff, she hurriedly looked away and stuffed the remaining ones into her mouth.
’So sly, these little snacks,’ she thought.
After finishing the puffs, she suddenly remembered her purpose here.
Quickly, she looked at Bai Feng and said, “Oh! Senior Brother Bai, I have something for you!”
“Huh? What is it?”
“Here!” Shui Miao Miao pulled out a small blue sphere about the size of a pigeon egg from her storage bag. “Some folks from Eastern Continent call this a Water Dragon Pearl.”
Bai Feng took the sphere, inspecting it, and it kinda looked like a semi-transparent crystal stone, soft to the touch, with an oddly pleasant feel.
“It’s made from a special spirit ore from Eastern Continent,” she explained. “As long as you inject spirit power, it can change shape. When I was little, I loved lying on it to sleep.”
Bai Feng suddenly became interested. He tried pouring spirit power into it, and quickly, the sphere in his hand expanded and reshaped into the form he imagined—a somewhat rough sword.
He touched the sword’s blade. It felt just like water—super weird.
Then, he changed it into other shapes. Shui Miao Miao stared in surprise, probably because her usual thinking didn’t include turning the pearl into a bed or anything like that.
She looked at Bai Feng’s stick-shaped transformation and quietly looked away, suddenly thinking of all the unspeakable things.
Senior Brother Bai wouldn’t misunderstand, right?
Thinking that, she hurriedly changed the subject: “It’s mostly used as a bed to rest on. Senior Brother Bai, you should try it!”
Hearing this, Bai Feng stopped playing and turned his water sword into a big water bed.
He sat on it and felt it for a while, then asked Shui Miao Miao, “So, Junior Sister Shui, why are you giving me this gift?”
“It’s because you’ve been teaching me sword techniques all this time, so I wanted to thank you.” Shui Miao Miao breathed a little easier, feeling shy.
“Well, it’s because you helped me test the Array. I can’t just let you work for free,” Bai Feng said with a smile. “But since you gave me a gift, I have to give one back too.”
