Chapter 221: “It’s my first time doing something like this.”
“Err, Teacher, I haven’t quite decided on what to do yet. Can I keep this for now?”
In the end, Fang Yue didn’t choose which question to ask.
“Sure, no need to stress. These things do require some serious thought,” Bai Feng said with a smile. “Alright, let’s continue our lesson. Today I’ll introduce you to some array formations used in the Image Retainer.”
Fang Yue immediately perked up, earnestly focusing on studying.
But maybe because she stayed up all night working on her scheme, her energy was running low.
And she kept feeling that Bai Feng was emitting a faint, almost undetectable fragrance—kinda like grilled meat, with a dash of herbal scent, making her mouth water uncontrollably.
Gurgle~~
She hurriedly covered her stomach with her hand, cheeks flushing with embarrassment—wait, she was already in the Golden Core stage, so why was she still hungry?
With these two awkward facts stacking up, she found it impossible to focus on class. Her sluggish brain was clogged with thoughts of BBQ.
At this point, Bai Feng noticed her unusually listless state and stopped. “Fang Yue, you look exhausted. Didn’t you rest properly last night?”
“Just pulled an all-nighter, it’s fine! I can handle it, Teacher!” Fang Yue quickly lifted her head, fighting back the saliva threatening to dribble out.
“If you’re tired, just rest well. I’m not asking you to finish learning everything in a few days.” Bai Feng shook his head, guessing it was probably her late-night scheme work again. “Go get some good sleep, and I’ll come back to teach you this afternoon.”
Seeing her still wanting to say more, he pressed on with a firmer tone. “Listen, you’re in no shape to learn anything right now. If you feel bad about it, just go take a nap now and come back refreshed this afternoon.”
“…Understood.”
Fang Yue could only nod, rubbing her hungry tummy, then quickly left the classroom.
As she exited, her stomach made another loud protest.
She froze for a moment, then hurriedly increased her pace, fleeing the scene as fast as she could.
“Huh?”
Bai Feng had just thought he might have imagined it, but it was clear now—Fang Yue’s stomach was growling. Yet, she was already in the Golden Core stage, so how come she was hungry?
Could it be that even a Golden Core cultivator still got hunger pangs?
Suddenly, Bai Feng recalled that Shui Miao Miao had brought ingredients earlier to cook. He raised his arm to sniff the air, but didn’t notice any particular smell. He then sniffed more carefully, finally catching a faint hint of meat—barely noticeable.
‘Is it the Dragon Clan’s feed being overbearing, or are their noses just THAT sharp?’ he pondered silently.
Looks like after making some Dragon Clan feed, he’d better change clothes.
Meanwhile, Fang Yue had returned to her own room.
And as she distanced herself from Bai Feng, her hunger slowly eased.
A puzzled look appeared on her face. “What’s wrong with me?”
No, wait—thinking carefully, it all started with her smelling her teacher’s scent.
Did Teacher do something? Why does it smell so good?
The second she thought of Bai Feng’s scent, her mouth started watering again.
“Calm down!”
She hurriedly slapped her cheeks with her hands, but despite that, a tiny voice in her mind kept suggesting she used this “issue” in some way.
“No way! I can’t possibly use such a precious problem for something so pointless,” she told herself, swallowing her saliva.
She got up from her bed, planning to buy some food to fill her stomach.
Half an hour later, Fang Yue sat in a restaurant and put down her chopsticks. She realized… she wasn’t actually hungry. No matter how much meat she ate, her hunger wouldn’t go away. Just thinking about Bai Feng’s scent made her drool uncontrollably.
‘What exactly is that smell on the Teacher?’
She couldn’t help but ponder.
……
Meanwhile, Bai Feng, alone in the classroom, decided to find a place to rest and change into fresh clothes.
Not long after he left…
A voice suddenly sounded from behind him:
“Bai Feng? Weren’t you supposed to go to class formation magic today?”
He spun around to see Chu Chu, blindfolded and carrying some fruits and vegetables, walking in.
“My student pulled an all-nighter last night. I told him to catch some rest,” Bai Feng said, glancing at her veggies with a smile. “Went shopping? Not your usual style.”
“No, I asked Yu Ling Long’s employee to buy these for me. Since you helped me a lot, I wanted to do something in return,” Chu Chu said, a bit awkward. “I overheard from Yu Mo that you seem to really like gourmet food, so I thought I’d learn a few dishes. But honestly, the ones I made so far aren’t very tasty.”
“No need to push yourself,” Bai Feng waved her off, then teased, “Besides, my hobbies aren’t just about tasting delicious food. Anything that’s relaxing and makes me comfortable, I like.”
“Really?” Chu Chu nodded thoughtfully. “Then, can I invite you to my room?”
“Huh?”
A few minutes later.
“Bai Feng, does this feel comfortable?”
“Yeah, pretty good.”
“This is also my first time doing something like this, so I’m still not very skilled. If it’s uncomfortable, please tell me.”
“Mm…”
“Alright, then I’ll go a bit deeper now.”
In Chu Chu’s room, Bai Feng was lying on the bed, while Chu Chu sat beside him, leaning over to gently clean his ears with an ear-cleaning tool.
Honestly, at the Golden Core stage, there shouldn’t be much ear wax, but Bai Feng had never tried having someone outside his family do it, so he was curious and wanted to try.
To avoid making things awkward for Chu Chu, he even controlled the secretion in his ears a tad to produce a tiny amount of earwax.
A few minutes later, Chu Chu looked at the small amount of earwax and suddenly remembered that cultivators at the Golden Core stage rarely excrete much afterward. Her cheeks flushed slightly with embarrassment.
“Chu Chu, sometimes the point of something isn’t just the result, but the process,” Bai Feng slowly sat up from the bed, smiling at her. “Thanks, that actually was quite relaxing.”
Seeing Bai Feng actually enjoying it, Chu Chu sighed in relief and smiled. “If you like it, then that’s perfect.”
“Oh, by the way, the pills I gave you should be running out soon. Is your body feeling better?”
“Yeah, much better now,” Chu Chu nodded. “Even my long-dormant cultivation base seems to be loosening up a bit.”
“That’s good.”
But Bai Feng also knew her weakness was caused by multiple factors—most notably, her foundation was damaged when she ripped out her Celestial Eye, and the journey fatigue only worsened her condition. Pills alone couldn’t fully heal it.
He was curious about how she’d do if she practiced the Forging Divine Magic. Yet, since Chu Chu was unlike Bai Yu Mo, and they hadn’t known each other long enough, he wasn’t going to pull out the divine technique so soon—even if she was her sister.
