Suddenly, a tiny figure shot out like a startled squirrel from the Heavenly Sword Sect’s campsite—almost teleporting—straight at Bai Feng and *bodyslammed* him. She buried her head in Bai Feng’s chest, clinging with just enough strength to make sure he knew she was relieved.
“Little junior brother!!” she squeaked, voice squeaky as a newbie puppy.
She squeeeeze-hugged Bai Feng like a koala, mumbling with tears in her voice: “I knew you’d be fine!”
Bai Feng ruffled her hair with a gentle smile. “Senior sister, you know my strength. What could possibly happen to me?”
Yao Yao stared up at him, whispering conspiratorially: “It’s that Tian Yan guy’s fault… he said some scary stuff…”
She tilted her head, speaking softer: “Said there’s some terrifying thing in the Secret Realm, and you even fought with some beast he controlled or something.”
“Hmm…” Meanwhile, Yun Yue Yao, standing nearby, kept sizing up Yao Yao—who was a little shorter than her—before casually touching her chin and looking up at Bai Feng with a smirk. “You really do have a thing for lolicons, huh?”
Bai Feng: “…”
Yao Yao caught Yun Yue Yao staring, blinked a little, and looked surprisingly familiar. “Hmm? You… you’re the one she fought in the tournament, right?”

Then she spotted Yun Yue Yao’s ample chest, her eyes immediately narrowing. She lowered her gaze to her own, annoyed, and turned away—dammit, she lost!
Meanwhile, a nearby Nine-Tailed Fox yawned—despite being a forever-single little fox, it could sense the hostility and felt utterly bored. No fun. If it were in its prime, it’d be hunting wild chickens, not getting involved in this petty drama.

“Planning to eat cat food?” Bai Feng teased, rubbing her two more times before putting her down and pulling out a handful of kibble. Xiao Xue’s eyes lit up; she bent her head and gobbled it up happily.
“Don’t worry, there’s plenty,” Bai Feng said, smiling as he ruffled her head again. Xiao Xue nodded gratefully, making a happy meow, then continued munching.
The Nine-Tails Fox, instinctively licking its lips, also wanted some. Bai Feng had given it two packs of fox food earlier, but it still found everyone else’s dishes much more tempting.
Plus, those two little packs were gone quick—what to do after eating?
“Meow~~” Xiao Xue lifted her head, licking Bai Feng’s finger.
“Finished?” Bai Feng reached for more cat food. “Relax, still got lots. Take your time.”
Since Xiao Xue had awakened her Golden Core, she could talk now—but honestly, Bai Feng felt she preferred her usual meows over speaking human words. Maybe he liked her that way, too.
Just then, Bai Feng felt a gentle nudge on his back—he turned to see Nine-Tails sitting obediently on the ground: “Meow~”
“?”
A fox pretending to be a cat? That’s weird. Bai Feng peeked at Xiao Xue eating her food and instantly understood.
A sly smile appeared on his face. “Want some fox food?”
“Mmhm!” The Nine-Tails nodded furiously, then suddenly paused—oh wait, did it forget something? It quickly added: “Meow~~”
“…… You don’t need to imitate Xiao Xue, just act normal.”
Bai Feng grinned slightly, thinking that a fox trying to sound like a cat was even stranger than hearing Xiao Xue speak human words.
“Okay…” The Nine-Tails nodded, hesitated a moment, then stepped closer and gently rubbed Bai Feng’s leg with its head.
“Alright, I’ll give you some fox food. But…” Bai Feng pulled out a handful of it, eyeing the fox with a mischievous grin.
The Nine-Tails froze—looked at the food, then at Bai Feng’s sneaky smile, and in a moment of determination, turned around and—wiggled its tail.
“Fine, here,” Bai Feng said, placing the bowl of fox food before it. Then he reached out and rubbed its tail as it happily ate.
He really wanted to fatten Xiao Jiu into a cute little pillow.
After Xiao Jiu finished her meal, she kept glancing at the overflowing bowl of fox food and suddenly felt that a little acting cute for Bai Feng—maybe letting him pet her tail—wasn’t such a bad deal.
Just a little whimper, a few purrs, and she’d get delicious fox food. Totally worth it.
While Bai Feng was busy caressing Xiao Jiu’s tail, Zuo Qiu strolled over slowly.
