Villain Too Many Children of Destiny, I Choose to Lie Flat – Chapter 282

Chapter 282: You’re Not Good at Doing Nothing

Chu Chu, ever the little curious kitten, looked around with a puzzled expression but didn’t hesitate for long. She swiftly reached for the long sword at her waist only to find her hand was so dainty that it barely wrapped around the hilt—and her whole Golden Core cultivation was mysteriously vanished!

Suddenly, it hit her—a flash of enlightenment. She quickly scanned her surroundings, especially that battered old wooden shack. Even after all these years, she still remembered this place like it was yesterday.

“Why am I back here? And why do I feel…smaller?” she wondered, eyes wide as a saucer.

But hey, no time to ponder the universe’s cruel jokes. She knew deep down that overthinking was a luxury she couldn’t afford right now.

But what could she possibly do?

Just then, a clear voice sliced the air, “Chu Chu.”

White Feng, who had been quietly observing, spoke softly, “I need you to help me carry some of this pressure. Can you do that?”

“Absolutely!” she nodded vigorously—probably a little too vigorously—“What do you need me to do?”

“Calm your mind. Don’t let negative emotions sway you.”

Though a bit confused, Chu Chu nodded again, her tiny face determined. “Okay, I’m ready.”

Suddenly, a tidal wave of negative emotions surged towards her, crashing like relentless waves against her consciousness.

In her mind’s eye, she saw her parents, Grandma Lü, Xiao Lan—and then, horrifyingly, saw them all falling before his eyes. Her hands clenched tightly into fists, rage boiling fiercely.

But she quickly tamped down her fury.

‘Calm down. Don’t let these feelings mess with you. You can do this.’

She closed her eyes, crushing her emotional turmoil under her mental boot.

Meanwhile, White Feng, freed from a part of his own burden, finally had enough strength to do more than just dodge the bl**d-colored shadow. He couldn’t bring himself to crush it yet, but at least it wouldn’t slash him into ribbons.

After a while, he glanced at the seemingly unaffected bl**d-shadow. His brows furrowed slightly.

He could sense its aura weakening—just a tiny bit. How long would it take to wipe this thing out entirely?

Then, suddenly, he sensed something—without warning, he punched the bl**d-shadow away and whipped his head around to Chu Chu.

She had restored her original size, and her negative emotions were rapidly diminishing.

“Ah-ha,” White Feng realized, “these feelings are all coming from her. She’s actually absorbing her own negative emotions—like a spiritual vacuum cleaner.”

“Chu Chu, I’ll release some more negative emotions now. If you feel overwhelmed, just tell me.”

She opened her eyes, nodded, and a confident smile curled on her lips. “Got it! Leave it to me!”

Soon, a fresh wave of negative emotions washed over her again. But this time, with her prior experience, she handled it like a pro.

‘This is what it’s all about…’ she thought.

She ‘saw’ herself fleeing on Xiao Lan’s back, pursued by some band of chasers. In the distant village gate, a few villagers lay dead—victims of giving her a single cup of water and paying the price. To this day, she still felt a mix of remorse and fury.

Memories flooded her—anger, fear, despair. She pressed them down one by one, swallowing each negative feeling like a bitter pill, until finally, she had absorbed and digested everything.

“Are you okay now?” White Feng asked softly.

Chu Chu exhaled slowly, as if blowing away a storm inside her. Then she smiled at him, all confidence. “Yeah, I’ve got this!”

And then, almost like on cue, she remembered the red figure. She hurriedly asked, “And what about that red guy?”

“Over there,” White Feng pointed at the bound bl**d-shadow. Now freed from negative emotional influence, the shadow was no match for them—though killing it was another story. That thing was tough as hell, and all he could do was keep it restrained.

Chu Chu rose slowly and approached the bl**d-shadow with measured steps. “Let me handle this.”

“Just a heads-up,” White Feng warned, “it’s not like those negative feelings. It’s more…serious. Better to wear it down slowly.”

“Nope,” she shook her head. “I’ll face whatever comes.”

She squatted, reaching out her hand toward the bl**d-shadow.

One moment later, she blinked and found herself suddenly lying on a freezing metalbed, a little girl chattering beside her.

Her fists clenched, trembling with a mix of fear and rage. Even though she was prepared, seeing this scene still made her shiver—like a needle digging into her heart, igniting a fierce desire for vengeance.

“Are you okay?” White Feng’s brow was full of concern.

He saw the bl**d-shadow dissolve into red mist swirling around Chu Chu, yet it showed no signs of vanishing.

Her body trembled uncontrollably. He quickly pressed a hand on her shoulder, trying to tug the red mist away from her.

But she suddenly spoke, voice trembling but firm: “Don’t… trust me…”

He stared at her strained smile, then nodded after a moment of silence. “If you can’t hold on, tell me.”

She nodded painfully and whispered, “If possible…hold me?”

“Of course,” he said softly, wrapping her in his arms. Gently, he patted her back. “Don’t worry—I’m right here.”

A little more at ease, Chu Chu wore a faint smile and felt the warmth of White Feng, battling her inner storm of negative feelings.

She nearly lost control at the start—almost consumed by her wrath and desire for killing—until her mind was suddenly flooded with White Feng’s voice: *Don’t let negative emotions influence you. You’re not good at doing nothing.*

In that moment, her rationality snapped back into place. She steadied herself amidst the storm. Even if her eyes were gouged out, she remained calm inside.

That didn’t mean she was emotionless. Far from it. Her heart was brimming with fury—yet, strangely, it didn’t cloud her judgment. She strained to keep her temper in check, anger bubbling but her mind clear.

With White Feng by her side, her last little flicker of unease vanished. The red mist gradually dissipated, and as it faded, her surroundings started to fragment at the edges.

Soon enough, they returned to reality.

“It seems like everything’s fine now,” White Feng exhaled in relief, pulling his hand away from Chu Chu’s face and asking kindly, “How do you feel?”

Chu Chu ‘saw’ his withdrawing hand with a slight reluctance, but she didn’t show it. Quickly, she answered, “Much lighter.”

“What about your eyes?” he asked.

She reached to touch her eyelids, then hesitated—was it just her perception? But her eyes did feel way more comfortable. She nodded. “Yeah, much better now.”

“Good,” White Feng nodded. “Go ahead and rest for a bit. Come back tomorrow for me to slather some ointment. Seven days straight, then we’ll see how it goes.”

“Got it,” she agreed, feeling a little more hopeful about tomorrow.

Bai Feng transmigrated—and he has a younger sister born with Immortal Bones. He initially thought that as long as he clung tightly to his sister’s thigh, he could live a carefree life in this perilous world of cultivation. Until he woke up one day to discover that his mother was preparing to extract his sister’s Immortal Bones and implant them into him. Only then did he realize he was holding the villain script! Right at that moment, the System appeared. As long as he targeted any Child of Destiny and seized the Child of Destiny’s providence value, he could receive generous rewards. At the same time, however, if he plundered too much providence, it would draw the Child of Destiny’s wariness—or even outright hostility. Looking at the three Children of Destiny in this single city, Bai Feng decided—forget it! Whoever wants to be the villain can go ahead; there are already three Children of Destiny in this one city alone. He didn’t even dare imagine how many Children of Destiny might exist across the entire world. So, when the sects were recruiting disciples, he avoided that sect full of Children of Destiny. He also steered clear of those professions they frequented. Every day, he would just draw some ecchi arts, listen to music, and do whatever he felt like. Many years later, Tianji Tower had the opportunity to interview some Children of Destiny who were close to Bai Feng, asking them for their thoughts on him: Child of Destiny A: “No one understands Bai Feng better than I do. He’s nothing like the rumours that claim he coveted the Immortal Bones out of selfishness. On the contrary, he has no interest in Immortal Bones and has secretly been protecting his sister all this time.” Child of Destiny B: “Many people call me a Child of Destiny, someone fated by the heavens. But in my opinion, Brother Bai is the true favored son of heaven. He’s warmhearted and upright, walking the path of immortality with an ordinary body.” Meanwhile, Bai Feng, who was watching this interview, slowly tapped out a ‘?’ They’re slandering me! And you bunch of Children of Destiny—stay away from me!
