Chapter 283: Little Jiu: I’m Not Clean Anymore!!
Bai Feng yawned widely, feeling a little exhausted.
Looks like helping Chu Chu fend off her negative emotions drained quite a bit of his energy.
‘Time to hit the hay early tonight,’ he thought, yawning again.
Meanwhile, Bai Yu Mo strolled over carrying some dishes, eyeing Bai Feng with curiosity.
“Brother, did Master call you to train again today?” she asked, setting down the plate.
“Yeah, I went to training, but it wasn’t too intense today. Mostly I helped Chu Chu with her eyes this afternoon, so I guess that was a bit tiring,” Bai Feng said with a shrug.
Bai Yu Mo’s eyes widened in surprise.
“Wow, brother! Did you find a cure for her eyes?”
“Yep, just gotta wait a few days to see how it works,” Bai Feng nodded, picking up chopsticks to grab a piece of meat.
“Your cooking’s getting better and better lately.”
“Yeah, I’ve been reading some new cookbooks,” Bai Yu Mo said with a shy smile, then hurried to the kitchen, tossing out a fresh dish and a bowl of porridge.
“This, and also this—eating too much meat gets kinda dull, so I asked my senior sister at Spirit Beast Peak to help me get some seafood from the East Sea. Want to try?”
“Definitely! I’ll give it a good taste.”
Bai Feng watched silently as Bai Yu Mo placed a plate of sea fish, oysters, and a bowl of abalone in front of him.
He quietly glanced at her.
Seeing he hadn’t touched his chopsticks, Bai Yu Mo looked puzzled.
“What’s wrong? Don’t like it?”
“No, it’s just… I’m curious why all these are seafood,” Bai Feng said, shaking his head, suspecting it was just a coincidence.
‘How did Bai Yu Mo become so brave? She can’t beat normal difficulty, and now she wants to challenge the hard mode?’
“Senior sister said these seafood are popular, so I bought some,” Bai Yu Mo explained, not noticing anything odd.
Bai Feng nodded without much explanation.
He started with the sea fish, lifting a piece to his mouth.
“Mmm, pretty good. Next time, if there’s crab, I’d like to try that too.”
“Crabs? Got it,” Bai Yu Mo nodded, then picked up a piece of fish, slowly bringing it to Bai Feng’s lips.
“Brother, try this.”
Her movements looked graceful and natural, but a close observer might notice her eyes flickering, and her ears flushing slightly.
Bai Feng saw through her forced calm—she was still shy. It was an improvement from her previous flustered, red-faced state.
“Hmm, tasty,” Bai Feng nodded after eating the fish.
Bai Yu Mo seemed encouraged; she grabbed another piece of meat and stretched it toward Bai Feng’s mouth.
“Then try this one.”
“Okay, stop feeding me all the time—you should eat too,” Bai Feng said, picking up a piece of fish and holding it near her mouth.
This time, Bai Yu Mo didn’t shy away. Instead, she opened her mouth eagerly and ate it.
She chewed carefully, but inside, she kept encouraging herself—she had already done such things with Bai Feng, so now being a couple was totally normal. No need to be shy!
After a few bites, she secretly looked at Bai Feng and whispered, “Brother… um… when it’s just us two, can I call you by your name?”
“Sure,” Bai Feng replied. “But I actually quite like you calling me ‘Brother.’ If you could call me that once in a while, I’d be really happy.”
“Then… I’ll just call you whatever I think of,” Bai Yu Mo lowered her head shyly. “Um, I’ll call you… Bai Feng first…”
“Mm, I’m here.”
“… Bai Feng.” Bai Yu Mo looked up at him slowly, then continued softly.
“Mm.”
“Bai Feng.”
“…”
Isn’t that enough?
A faint blush spread across Bai Yu Mo’s satisfied face. She subtly moved closer to Bai Feng, leaning on him.
“Bai Feng…”
“What’s wrong?” Bai Feng gently brushed her hair behind her ear, side-glancing at her blushing face and bright, excited eyes fixed on him.
“Just… calling you by a different name makes things feel a bit… different,” she suddenly felt impulsive and threw her arms around him.
Bai Feng rubbed her head.
“Alright, dinner’s not over yet!”
But she didn’t loosen her hold. Instead, she muffled a soft plea, “Can I hold you a little longer…?”
“Mm…” Bai Feng looked at her for a few seconds. “Wow, this is the first time after growing up that you’re actually cuddling me like this!”
Although Bai Yu Mo hadn’t always listened to him before, she always had a bunch of excuses or reasons for her actions. But today, being so straightforward was a rare sight.
“Uh… I guess it’s not really ‘cuddling,’ right?” Bai Yu Mo lowered her head slightly, whispering softly.
“No, I don’t dislike it at all. Honestly, I quite like it when you’re clingy,” Bai Feng chuckled, shaking his head. “Feel free to do it whenever you want.”
“Mm…” she whispered faintly, lowering her head. “Maybe I’ll give you a massage later.”
“Sure.”
——
Morning.
Bai Feng slowly opened his eyes, noticing Bai Yu Mo sleeping in his arms. He reached out and gently stroked her head.
“Hmm…”
Bai Yu Mo seemed to wake from her sleep too. She looked at Bai Feng with a slightly blushing face.
Thinking about how she’d let go of her inhibitions last night and spoiled Bai Feng shamelessly, her face warmed up even more.
“I… I’ll go prepare breakfast,” she quickly sat up, changed clothes, and rushed out of the bedroom.
Bai Feng chuckled softly, then sat up gradually.
Come to think of it, there seemed to be a fox still sleeping in his bedroom.
‘Let’s see if Little Jiu’s awake yet.’
He got dressed and walked out of Bai Yu Mo’s room.
A few minutes later, he opened the door to his own bedroom and saw several fluffy tails sticking out from under the quilt, while Little Jiu, the fox spirit, was still curled up inside, sleeping.
“Wow, this guy really loves to sleep,” Bai Feng muttered.
He decided to lift the quilt and call Little Jiu to wake up, but as he reached out, he froze—his hand changed direction mid-motion at the sight of those furry tails.
Little Jiu had been sleeping here all afternoon and night. He figured—he might as well collect some rent or something.
So, he took off his shoes and crawled onto the bed, wrapping his arms around that big, fluffy tail.
Gotta admit—Little Jiu’s tail was incredibly soft. He couldn’t help but imagine how comfortable it’d be to sleep with it wrapped around him.
But before long, a muffled sound came from inside the quilt.
“Umm uhh uhh!”
Suddenly, a fox head popped out of the quilt. She looked at Bai Feng, who was playing with her tail while lying on the bed. Then she glanced around at the unfamiliar surroundings, and a big question mark appeared in her mind:
Where am I? Why am I lying here with Bai Feng? I’m not clean anymore!!
