Chapter 31: A Little Slightly Naughty Pic Shock
“Brother Luo, don’t you think you look kinda like a dog?”
Facing Bai Feng with a serious expression, he bluntly asked. Luo Chen didn’t get mad at first; he just furrowed his brow and asked, a bit annoyed, “I’m just thanking you kindly. Why are you insulting me like this?”
“Sorry, I wasn’t insulting you,” Bai Feng shook his head earnestly. “Brother Luo, look back at your recent years. Haven’t you noticed anything weird?”
He wasn’t worried about provoking the Enemy of Destiny’s puppy lovers—so long as they didn’t get aggressive toward the senior sister or junior sister of their sect, he’d probably just get a few scoldings, easy peasy lemon squeezy.
And they wouldn’t be waking him up with insults either—those guys have their own logic and worldview. How could a simple insult break their will or wake them up from their delusions? If it did, how could so many puppy lovers still exist in the world?
Luo Chen clearly saw that Bai Feng was not mocking or ridiculing him; yet, the more he understood this, the more furious and afraid he felt—as if his inner self was being stabbed and scrutinized, or that his already pitiful pride was being torn off like a shamed cloth, exposing nothing underneath.
He weakly tried to explain, or perhaps defend himself: “It’s my responsibility as the senior brother of Purple Cloud Peak.”
But Bai Feng wasn’t stopping—he kept pushing: “I’ve never seen other peak’s senior brothers as humble as you… not like a senior brother, more like a servant, a dog being called and commanded.”
Silence fell over Luo Chen. Under such humiliation, growing up in the sect, he wanted to retort but couldn’t find the right words.
His upbringing also made him reluctant to strike back even when humiliated—plus, he could sense Bai Feng wasn’t truly malicious.
After finishing his rant, Bai Feng heaved a sigh of relief, feeling refreshed. He waved his hand and said, “Forget it, pretend I never said anything. If someone from Purple Cloud Peak asks about you, just say you were given away. That’s it.”
But Luo Chen, despite the ‘insult,’ stubbornly shook his head: “No, that’s not right. I promised my junior sister I’d do this properly.”
Bai Feng was utterly defeated. How could he be so whipped? He outright called Luo Chen a dog—you’d think he’d have some backbone!
Is it because he’s a woman? Already seen too little of them.
If that’s the case, then don’t blame him for going ‘hard’ on him.
So Bai Feng reached into his storage bag and pulled out the book Bai Yu Yao had given him: “Alright then, I’ll accept the necklace, but I don’t want it. I’m delegating you to deal with it. The book is your reward—make sure no one’s watching while you read it. It’s pretty interesting.”
Hey, for a young disciple raised in the sect, you probably haven’t seen a naughty picture, right? Here’s a tiny shock pic to blow your mind—then just obediently fall into ruin before it!
Even if Luo Chen throws the book away after reading its contents, in this conservative world, Bai Feng would definitely think he was insulting him.
Maybe in the future, he’ll give him the cold shoulder, keep his distance.
Even if his hatred level rises, and the system registers it as a blow to the Child of Destiny’s luck, that’s fine—so long as it’s disgusting enough!
Anyway, Luo Chen this month is already feeling repulsed by this doomed puppy lover. Especially since he refuses to listen, it’s utterly disgusting!
He can’t even enjoy his meals properly!
Luo Chen didn’t know there was a big trap waiting for him ahead. After accepting a book cover stamped with “Spring and Autumn,” he hesitated and said, “Is this okay?”
“Anything’s fine,” Bai Feng replied casually. “Gifting’s your thing, but how you handle the gift is my business. That’s it—see you.”
Without waiting for Luo Chen’s reply, he shut the door and left.
Luo Chen opened his mouth but saw the door already closed. He could only slump his shoulders, looking downcast, and head back to Purple Cloud Peak.
“Big Bro? Who was just here?” Bai Yu Mo came out of the kitchen with a curious look, holding her meal.
“That was Brother Luo Chen… ahem, I mean Brother Luo,” Bai Feng cleared his throat. “He came to thank you for helping deliver the pills last time.”
“It’s been about a month since then, right?” Bai Yu Mo looked a bit confused. “And I remember explicitly refusing him back then.”
“Who knows—they might’ve been played again by his junior brothers or sisters.”
Bai Yu Mo nodded thoughtfully. “Yeah, yesterday at lunch, I had a weird feeling—those from Purple Cloud Peak don’t see Luo Chen as a person at all.”
“Forget about them. Maybe Brother Luo is actually happy about this,” Bai Feng, already disgusted early in the morning, bluntly said. “No more talking—let’s eat.”
After finishing his meal, he still had to rush his manuscript!
Array formations are just too expensive, and he had to work harder.
Fortunately, his upgraded Photo-resin Stone was now capable of mass production. Selling these high-end items for a bit more money isn’t unreasonable, right?
…
Luo Chen had no idea how he got back to Purple Cloud Peak. Only after returning did he remember—the necklace was still in his storage bag, untouched.
How should he explain himself to his junior sister?
He entered his room. After Bai Feng’s tirade, his mind was a mess, even somewhat overwhelmed.
If an ordinary disciple said this, Luo Chen might not care much.
But it was Bai Feng—Array genius, recognized senior brother of Bai Yu Mo. In Luo Chen’s heart, Bai Feng was on the same level as him, making it hard to simply ignore.
“Was I wrong?”
He pondered but couldn’t figure it out.
“Am I just caring for my junior sister, why is that wrong?”
He couldn’t understand.
But he wasn’t someone who liked to overthink, so if he couldn’t figure it out, he wouldn’t dwell on it.
His thoughts still tangled, he naturally had no desire to practice. So he took out the book Bai Feng gave him.
He originally thought it was a novel or a play, but as he flipped open the first page, his face instantly reddened.
“How… how can the women in this book be so shameless! How scandalous! This is just…”
He quickly closed the book; his face was as red as a ripe peach.
As an honest disciple raised in the sect, he’d never seen anything so provocative. The moment he saw the book, he decided to burn it.
But thinking it was a gift from Bai Feng, he hesitated.
Though Bai Feng was blunt and straightforward, he wouldn’t give him such a boring book—could he have delivered the wrong one?
Or was there some deeper meaning behind it?
Despite the bad reputation Bai Feng had outside, as the senior brother of Purple Cloud Peak, Luo Chen didn’t buy all the rumors—especially not the rumored laziness or arrogance.
When communicating with disciples from Green Bamboo Peak, he was clearly told that Bai Feng was not only talented but also very diligent—a month’s time to learn and master a large number of array formations.
Such hardworking, earnest pursuit of the Way—how could someone like that keep such a book? Bai Feng definitely wanted to tell him something through it.
In Luo Chen’s narrow view, entertainment seemed nonexistent. He lacked any concrete concept of it; in his mind, entertainment was the pastime of lazy disciples. Hardworking disciples like him and Bai Feng wouldn’t mix with entertainment activities at all.
Thinking this way, Luo Chen regained his focus and carefully began to read the “Spring and Autumn” again.
