Chapter 310: What’s Up With These Two Little Dragon Girls?
White Feng sat comfortably in the flying boat headed to Eastern Continent, not bothering to hide the fact that he was holding the immortal’s arm. Instead, he announced it openly to Master and Sect Master. He didn’t specify that it was an immortal’s arm, only saying that the Divine Monarch was searching for something related to immortals.
This matter quickly drew the Sect Master’s attention, and he decided to personally take charge. However, since the Sect Master was worried about certain people noticing, he kept a low profile, sneaking around and hiding his whereabouts. Only White Feng and Chu Ning Yan knew about this.
Meanwhile, the Holy Land folks were still hanging around in Eastern Continent, not leaving yet. You could say Eastern Continent was pretty safe right now—a key reason why White Feng dared to go there. If the Central Continent Holy Land hadn’t been restraining the Divine Monarch, he wouldn’t risk an outing, even with the Sect Master’s protection. Too many unexpected surprises could happen otherwise.
He hoped Zuo Qiu would hurry up and grow some backbone, k*ll the Divine Monarch, Black Lotus, and the others.
Why did he go personally? Well, he had more ways to deal with immortals, especially since that immortal’s arm might be hiding some demon energy. When it came to fighting demon energy and immortals, he might even be better than the Sect Master. Better safe than sorry—so he decided to tag along.
“Haaah… how long are we staying in Eastern Continent?” Little Jiu, curled up on White Feng’s lap, yawned uncontrollably.
“Depends on the situation. But if the Southern Region’s monster tribe is determined to meet you, it doesn’t matter how long you stay,” White Feng casually reached over and stroked her tail. “Either way, we’ll see how things go.”
“Darn it, I should’ve just hidden my Nine-Tails Fox identity from the start,” Little Jiu muttered softly. Luckily, she met White Feng and Yun Yue Yao, or the monsters from Southern Region wouldn’t be so courteous.
White Feng made no reply; he gently stroked Little Jiu while glancing at the others on the flying boat.
This mission was special, so not many people came along. Besides his teacher Chu Ning Yan, Bai Yu Mo, and Yun Yue Yao, only Tian Yan was present.
On the way to Eastern Continent, some monsters hoping to see Little Jiu had stayed in Xuan Guang City, refusing to leave for days.
“When are we setting off to Heavenly Sword Sect again?” someone asked the others inside, but was ignored.
“Those pastries made by Yu Ling Long are surprisingly good. Who would’ve thought that a simple potato could be turned into such an art piece?” one sitting at the table remarked, a plate of potato chips and a bubbling fruit juice beside it.
“And this cake’s pretty good too—soft and sticky, way better than tough dried meat,” another added, holding a plate of cake and savoring each bite.
Behind them, someone wielded a wooden sword, chopping fruit on the wall repeatedly, earning points constantly: “d*mn it! Just learned swordsmanship for a few years? Who do you think you are? Just you wait, I’ll surpass you on the leaderboard soon!”
If you looked at the sofa, you’d see a petite girl in a frilly black dress with lace-trimmed stockings adorned with roses, curled on the cushions, fingers instinctively scrolling through the Image Retainer.
The first guy kept his eyes on the most reliable and composed lady — she was staring intently at the Image Retainer, but it seemed she’d disassembled it. She kept mumbling: “It’s made with Array formations… but what techniques did they use? And so many of them—how does Yu Ling Long do it? Do they have hundreds of Array Masters working day and night?”
He couldn’t take it anymore and walked up to her to ask, “Sister Su, how long do we have to stay here?”
She looked up at him, sighed, and replied, “Honestly, it’s been a bit long.”
Suddenly, everyone “shushed” as the women on the sofa stopped chatting. The petite girl was still fiddling with the Image Retainer, but a pair of fox ears now sprouted on her head. Only the fruit-slicing girl kept her focus, swording away.
Just when hope bloomed in the man’s heart, Su turned and asked everyone, “I want to go investigate again. Once I’m done, we’ll leave. Who wants to come?”
His hope was immediately dashed; last time, she’d said the same thing.
“I!” The girl on the sofa immediately put down her retainer and raised her hand.
But Su shook her head. “Qiao Qiao, stay here.”
“Why?” she asked, puzzled.
“You can go, but don’t borrow money,” Su said bluntly.
Qiao Qiao went silent. In the end, she could only watch helplessly as Su led the others out of the room.
She turned to stare at the empty room; besides the girl still chopping fruit, it was as empty as her wallet. A thought suddenly crossed her mind: “Maybe I should get a part-time job… Nah, screw that—better yet, I’ll gather intel!”
Apparently, Yu Ling Long was recruiting people with decent pay, and it was a gold mine for earning money and spying—killing two birds with one stone. Su sister probably wouldn’t be leaving anytime soon. She couldn’t survive the meantime living clueless and broke, right?
With that resolve, she quickly stashed the Image Retainer into her pocket and hurried out.
……
“Finally arrived in Eastern Continent,” White Feng sighed, lowering Little Jiu’s tail. He had used the Retainer to send a message to Shui Miao Miao before arriving, so they weren’t stopped at Qing Shui City.
Getting off the flying boat, White Feng saw Shui Miao Miao standing not far away, right beside Shui Xi Yu, who stood confidently, no longer bothering to hide her identity.
In his mind, he muttered, “Looks like Shui Xi Yu doesn’t need to pretend anymore.”
“Senior Brother Bai, I missed you so much!” Shui Miao Miao stretched her arms, seemingly wanting to pounce, but hesitated when she remembered all the onlookers, awkwardly pulling back her hands.
“Junior Sister Shui, long time no see,” White Feng greeted with a smile.
At that moment, Shui Xi Yu approached, looking excited but also a tad nervous. She carefully called out, “Teacher.”
White Feng turned to her, a faint smile on his face. “This should be the first time we meet in person, huh?”
Seeing their teacher not angry, Shui Xi Yu felt a little relieved and nodded with a smile. “Yeah, I’ve been waiting for this day for a long time.”
“Oh? Master’s here too…” Shui Miao Miao finally noticed Chu Ning Yan standing behind White Feng and hurriedly greeted her shyly.
“Don’t be nervous. I’m just here to support you guys, no need to pay me too much mind,” Chu Ning Yan chuckled.
“How dare you!” Shui Miao Miao giggled awkwardly and quickly turned to White Feng. “We’ll chat more later—I’ve prepared some food to welcome you all.”
She led everyone towards the City Lord’s Manor.
Meanwhile, behind White Feng, Yun Yue Yao stroked her chin, observing Shui Miao Miao and Shui Xi Yu. These two little dragon girls—what’s their story? Why do they seem to have a “not-so-friendly” attitude towards her husband?
