Villain Too Many Children of Destiny, I Choose to Lie Flat – Chapter 465

Chapter 465: I Know You’re in a Hurry, But Don’t Rush Just Yet

“Feeling like the Heavenly Sword Sect’s changed a lot.”

You Su Rong Rong inspected her surroundings, recalling that the original Heavenly Sword Sect didn’t have these metallic lanterns, and some of the pathways were covered with a peculiar kind of dirt that made them look incredibly smooth.

“Judging by the style, this was obviously done by Young Master Bai,” she mused. “Looks like Bai Gongzi isn’t letting age or youth get in the way of having a say in the sect anymore!”

Qiao Qiao was also examining everything around her, then she looked at You Su Rong Rong with a big smile. “Sister Su Rong Rong, this time you probably don’t have to worry, right?”

“Ah, I don’t think it’s that serious…” You Su Rong Rong shook her head softly, trying to downplay her worries.

But honestly, her anxiety was understandable. After all, she had lived in the Southern Region since she was a child. Now that she’s settled in the Northern Region, a sudden change of environment naturally stirred some worry about the future.

She pulled out her communicator once again to double-check the agreed meeting spot with Bai Gongzi, then hurriedly said to Qiao Qiao, “Alright, enough of that. Let’s go find Bai Gongzi quickly.”

Meanwhile, Bai Feng was staring at a blueprint, scratching his head.

It seemed the Sect Master was in some kind of mood—out of the blue, he asked Bai Feng to help rebuild the Heavenly Sword Sect. Said he was tired of the same old sect environment and wanted it to look more unique. And, surprisingly, he also thought the Array Peak’s design was pretty good, so just build it to match that style.

Designing the array formations was straightforward. He could craft a set of Spirit Power transmission arrays that wouldn’t interfere with the protective sect array. But making it stand out? That was the tricky part…

He definitely couldn’t just design it like a huge park! Although, judging by the Sect Master’s taste, perhaps he’d be satisfied with that.

“Let’s keep it simple for now. Building the roads first is undoubtedly the way to go.” Bai Feng set aside the half-drawn plans, planning to give it more thought later.

But he didn’t stop resting. Instead, he pulled out little blueprint scrolls—these were orders from the other Peak Masters of the Heavenly Sword Sect. Their requests weren’t much different from the Sect Master’s—they loved the design of the Array Peak and wanted to refurbish their own peaks to match it, all following the same standards.

Fortunately, not all Peak Masters were obsessed with trends—if they were, he really couldn’t imagine what the sect would look like.

Of course, rebuilding the mountain peaks wasn’t all smooth sailing. Many Elder Peak Masters believed that the sect should stick to tradition, maintaining a strict environment for cultivators. They only exchanged a few words or quietly complained to the Sect Master, usually led by the corporeal body cultivators who opposed the changes the loudest, insisting that cultivators should endure hardship and challenging the Sect Master frequently.

Suddenly, the door was slammed open.

A burly man with well-defined muscles and a fierce face strolled in, wearing a ‘villainous’ grin.

“Jin Peak Master,” he asked with a slightly subdued voice despite his loud voice normally, trying to show a friendly face with that savage smile. “When do you think it’ll be our turn?”

His deep, booming voice was unusually gentle now, and he tried to appear benign.

“I know you’re in a rush, Golden Peak Master,” Bai Feng replied with a calm smile. “But don’t worry. Once I finish the Dan Peak task, I’ll get around to you. No need to rush.”

“Alright, alright, I trust you with those words, Bai Feng. Don’t overexert yourself, okay? And if anyone causes trouble, just come find me for help.”

After dismissing the Golden Peak Master, Bai Feng let out a sigh.

If nothing unexpected happened, the body cultivators were still resisting rebuilding the peaks, clinging to their traditional rigorous training. Changing their stance meant something big had shifted.

This change wasn’t complicated: earlier, he helped Zuo Qiu train her Divine Body by making some ‘fitness equipment’ that was akin to magic tools. Then, perhaps annoyed by these corporeal body cultivators, the Sect Master snatched a few of these fitness devices and handed them over.

This group’s attitude shifted 180 degrees overnight—they became the biggest supporters of re-modifying the peaks, no longer insisting cultivators should endure hardship.

Most of the trouble now was caused by the Sect Master himself. As the old sect saying went: When danger is near, the Sect Master’s side is the safest place. When it’s safe, watch out, because the Sect Master might pull some stunt on you.

Just then, the door, which had been recently closed, was knocked.

“Not broken down, so it’s probably not the Corporeal Body Cultivators. The knocking is steady, not urgent. Certainly not the researchers either.” Bai Feng stood up slowly and approached the door. “Hmm, probably Qiao Qiao and the others arrived.”

He opened the door and saw You Su Rong Rong looking anxious, her eyes brightening first, then quickly shifting her gaze downward, not daring to meet his.

‘Is this still that lingering effect of her charm?’ Bai Feng thought glumly. He then stepped aside and said, “Come in.”

“Yes.”

You Su Rong Rong nodded, took a few steps forward, then glanced back at Qiao Qiao, who was standing still. She quickly reached out and pulled her into the room.

“Young Master Bai, is there something you need us for?” You Su Rong Rong, dressed in a black OL outfit, asked seriously while standing at the table.

“Y’all still have contacts with the Southern Region, right? Relax, I just need you to help with something.”

Bai Feng took out a storage bag—inside were carefully chosen ‘weapons’ he had collected from the warehouse. Every one of these weapons made him wonder what their creators had been thinking.

A slight relief washed over You Su Rong Rong. She hurriedly asked, “What do we need to do?”

“Don’t rush. First, take a look inside,” Bai Feng opened the bag and pulled out several strange-shaped items. “Since you’re more familiar with the Southern Region, I want your opinion on whether any of these can be useful.”

“What are these?”

Curious, You Su Rong Rong picked up one of the roundish objects and examined it. It had lots of array runes on it, kind of like a portable array formation, but rougher and simpler than typical portable arrays.

“The one you’re holding is a ‘bomb’ capable of exploding with the power of a Full Transformation God,” Bai Feng explained after a glance.

He remembered this bomb was created when some array mage nearly blew up his lab making a portable array formation—yet instead of reflecting on his mistake, he summarized and crafted this thing out of it.

Normally, array formations don’t cause violent explosions. When accidents happen, it’s usually a Spirit Power surge causing the array to fail. But portable arrays, made from multiple smaller array cores, can under certain circumstances cause intense explosions.

Thanks to this research, the array mage who almost blew up his laboratory managed to craft self-destruction arrays with materials at the Nascent Soul stage that could match Full Transformation in power—though the real challenge was figuring out how to throw this self-destruct device onto a Full Transformation enemy.

“Eh?”

You Su Rong Rong almost dropped the ‘bomb,’ staring at it with wide eyes. She was hesitant about whether to pick it up or put it down, frozen in place.

“Just put it on the table,” Bai Feng said, picking up the bomb from her hands and placing it back on the table. “Other items aren’t that different. Take a look and see if any are useful.”

Bai Feng transmigrated—and he has a younger sister born with Immortal Bones. He initially thought that as long as he clung tightly to his sister’s thigh, he could live a carefree life in this perilous world of cultivation. Until he woke up one day to discover that his mother was preparing to extract his sister’s Immortal Bones and implant them into him. Only then did he realize he was holding the villain script! Right at that moment, the System appeared. As long as he targeted any Child of Destiny and seized the Child of Destiny’s providence value, he could receive generous rewards. At the same time, however, if he plundered too much providence, it would draw the Child of Destiny’s wariness—or even outright hostility. Looking at the three Children of Destiny in this single city, Bai Feng decided—forget it! Whoever wants to be the villain can go ahead; there are already three Children of Destiny in this one city alone. He didn’t even dare imagine how many Children of Destiny might exist across the entire world. So, when the sects were recruiting disciples, he avoided that sect full of Children of Destiny. He also steered clear of those professions they frequented. Every day, he would just draw some ecchi arts, listen to music, and do whatever he felt like. Many years later, Tianji Tower had the opportunity to interview some Children of Destiny who were close to Bai Feng, asking them for their thoughts on him: Child of Destiny A: “No one understands Bai Feng better than I do. He’s nothing like the rumours that claim he coveted the Immortal Bones out of selfishness. On the contrary, he has no interest in Immortal Bones and has secretly been protecting his sister all this time.” Child of Destiny B: “Many people call me a Child of Destiny, someone fated by the heavens. But in my opinion, Brother Bai is the true favored son of heaven. He’s warmhearted and upright, walking the path of immortality with an ordinary body.” Meanwhile, Bai Feng, who was watching this interview, slowly tapped out a ‘?’ They’re slandering me! And you bunch of Children of Destiny—stay away from me!
