**Chapter 479: I Just Added More Training Time, After All, I’m Not Some Celestial Demon**
When it comes to competitive games that two people can enjoy, the most representative one has to be the fighting game.
However, most of the fighting games Bai Feng had played before didn’t quite stack up in this world. The characters’ combat abilities were a tad weak—after all, you can’t have a bunch of cultivators just swinging their fists at each other, can you?
But fortunately, he had stumbled upon some videos of a certain mobile game featuring ninjas, and he thought he could borrow a few ideas from that.
And so, a demo for an all-supermodel character martial arts game was born.
“So, this is what you call a competitive game?”
Little Jiu sat cross-legged in human form in front of a big screen, which displayed several familiar characters, even if they were animated.
“That’s right. You can think of it as a competition between disciples of the sect,” Bai Feng nodded. “Feel free to get familiar with it first.”
Little Jiu pressed her finger on the ‘game controller’ and selected a character named Lin Huo Huo. She tilted her head and glanced at Bai Feng, “Haven’t I seen this person in the sect?”
“Yep, the character is based on Lin Yan,” Bai Feng said, not holding back.
Little Jiu looked at the other characters and asked with some confusion, “Why am I not in it? And neither is Yun Yue Yao?”
“Oh, I just didn’t want to see you guys getting hurt in the game, so I left you out.”
Bai Feng explained casually.
Actually, he initially planned to include them but couldn’t bear the thought of Bai Yu Mo and the others taking hits in the game, so he deleted them.
But upon hearing this, Little Jiu suddenly got defensive: “I warn you, I’m not your property!”
Bai Feng: “?”
Where did that come from? The only reason he didn’t add Little Jiu was that he felt bad watching her get punched around… that soft fur and fluffy tail were just too hard to resist!
“Alright, hurry up and pick a character to get familiar with, will you?”
Under Bai Feng’s nagging, Little Jiu refocused on the game and chose the strongest character in reality—the Sect Master of the Heavenly Sword Sect.
“This character seems a bit hard to play! I suggest you pick one of these body cultivators; they’re easy and straightforward.”
“No way, those are too ugly!” Little Jiu glanced at a character with muscles bulging out and a ‘fierce look,’ immediately wrinkling her nose, “Plus, who am I? I’m the ultimate player revered by fans as the greatest in the gaming realm! No character is too difficult for me!”
“Since you’re so stubborn, then how about you fight a bot to get familiar with the game?”
Bai Feng didn’t press further and let her experience the treacherous nature of the game.
“Ha, a mere bot? I’ll defeat it in three moves!”
Little Jiu said disdainfully, then dived into the game, facing off against an opponent—a woman shrouded in black mist.
“Who is she? Is there such a person in real life?” Little Jiu asked Bai Feng during the countdown.
“That’s the Divine Monarch Black Lotus.”
Bai Feng replied flatly. By the way, the training dummies and default bots in the game were all Black Lotus.
Before that, he had been conflicted over whether to choose Black Lotus or Demon Woman for the training dummy, but he ultimately thought Black Lotus was a bit more annoying and thus she was chosen.
“Oh, that’s Black Lotus? Watch me take her down in no time!”
A few minutes later, Little Jiu stared at the gray screen, turning to Bai Feng with a blank expression: “Why is she so strong? Am I not playing as the Sect Master of the Heavenly Sword Sect? Why am I getting utterly trounced?!”
“The game needs to balance itself, otherwise, what’s the point? And is it possible you might just be a bit… bad?”
“I don’t believe it! I’m changing characters; it must be this character’s fault!”
Little Jiu didn’t hesitate this time and selected a brawny body cultivator. She needed to pummel Black Lotus into the ground with those massive fists to relieve her pent-up frustration!
This time, thanks to the body cultivator’s easy controls, she managed to knock Black Lotus down, and her confidence soared.
“Ha! I knew it wasn’t my fault!” Little Jiu proudly raised her little face, “What’s next? Bring it on!”
“Since you’re all warmed up, how about a matchup with me?”
Little Jiu nodded eagerly, “Sure, but don’t you dare whine if you lose!”
“How about we make it a bit more interesting? If you win, there’s a reward; if you lose, there’s a punishment. What do you think?”
“What kind of punishment?” Little Jiu immediately got suspicious. After so many losses, she had finally learned not to fall for Bai Feng’s traps that easily.
“It’s simple, like letting me touch your tail for a few minutes. If I lose, you can command me however you like,” Bai Feng said with a sly smile.
Little Jiu paused to think. If it was just that, maybe it was doable; losing would just mean losing her tail for a pet, but if she won…
She glanced up at Bai Feng and couldn’t help but grin mischievously.
She’d definitely get back at him for all the injustices she had suffered during this time!
“Bring it on! I won’t lose!”
Little Jiu, having only played one round, was bursting with unexpected confidence.
She selected the body cultivator that defeated the bot Black Lotus to fight, while Bai Feng chose a swordsman based on Luo Chen.
As the battle started, Little Jiu activated her body cultivator’s protective spirit power and charged at Bai Feng, but he dodged effortlessly, countering with a flying sword that sent her reeling. Little Jiu watched in disbelief as her character soared into the air, and before she could even finish a counterattack, she was launched skyward again.
Finally, when Little Jiu was on her last legs, Bai Feng unleashed a decisive move, knocking her character down, and a graceful swordsman appeared on the screen with the words: “There’s no such thing as loyalty or betrayal; I just understand a bit of human nature now.”
Staring at the screen, Little Jiu’s face turned a shade of red as she turned to Bai Feng, her cheeks flushing deeper, “You’re bullying me!”
“Loser pays up, so hand over the tail.” Bai Feng stretched out his hand, not concerned about her pouting.
She puffed up her cheeks but, in the end, begrudgingly wiggled her bottom and extended her tail toward him.
Bai Feng comfortably stroked her tail and asked, “Want to go again?”
“…No way!”
Little Jiu turned her head away. She wasn’t foolish; their skill levels were completely different. Unless she enjoyed being beaten, she wouldn’t agree to another match.
“How about I teach you how to play? Once you learn, we can face off again.”
Little Jiu’s ears perked up, and she slowly turned her head back, “But you can’t keep any secrets.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll teach you everything I know, but…”
Little Jiu suddenly got cautious again: “What are you up to now? You’re already holding my tail!”
“Relax, it’s nothing tail-related. It’s just to increase your training time,” Bai Feng said with a grin. “After all, I’m not some celestial demon.”
“…You might as well keep holding my tail!”
