Chapter 506 bl**d Snake: Bai Feng Should Be Joining the Demon Path as a Divine Monarch
In a dim and silent basement, bustling footsteps echoed, gradually slowing to a halt in front of a specially crafted cell. Inside was the bl**d Snake, the guy who’d been suppressed by the joint efforts of all the sacred lands’ leaders and the Sect Master of the Heavenly Sword Sect himself.
Considering this person was a high-level Divine Monarch, and probably knew quite a bit about them, they didn’t instantly cut her down. Instead, they just threw her in prison for the moment.
“Alright, do I need to hide my eyes or something?” Bai Feng spun around and asked Ling Feng. He was also curious about the Demon Energy on the Child of Destiny, so he nodded in agreement when Ling Feng requested for a look.
“No need, it’s not exactly a secret anymore,” Ling Feng said breezily, with a carefree smile. “Plus, with Young Master Bai watching over me, I feel more at ease.”
“Got it. Just ask away,” Bai Feng nodded, “But this girl’s got a pretty tough mouth, so you might not get much out of her.”
Also, this bl**d Snake was quite foul-mouthed. Yesterday, Ling Feng just wanted to ask about Black Lotus, but she kept spouting vulgarities. So, he dragged Chu Chu over and directly used her for Celestial Eye training. Since Chu Chu was in the Merging Stage, they didn’t have to worry about her bursting apart from the influence of the Celestial Eye—she could handle high-intensity experiments and training at will.
Today she’s been a bit more obedient, at least not swearing when they came in.
Seeing the bloodstained, disheveled bl**d Snake, Ling Feng took off the chains on his right arm. Demon Qi seeped out from his body, causing bl**d Snake to lift her head and look up at him.
“So, that thing’s on you? No wonder they couldn’t find it even after tearing apart the Western Region,” she glanced at him and looked away again. She’d heard there was a magic cultivator, covered in demon energy, leading monsters to fight against bl**d Snake Clan and the Divine Monarch. But she was busy with her own stuff at the time and paid no mind—missed out on such a treasure.
“What is it?” Ling Feng pressed, eager to know.
“What do you think it is? It’s exactly what you’re thinking,” bl**d Snake said lazily. “Too bad. If I’d been more curious back then and pulled you over, maybe I wouldn’t be in this mess now.”
Faced with her seemingly pointless reply, Ling Feng wanted to punch her.
But he guessed she wouldn’t cooperate, maybe wouldn’t even bother paying attention to him. Just a few words from her already exceeded his expectations.
“You’d better explain more, or you’ll be in trouble soon,” Bai Feng suddenly said from beside them.
bl**d Snake looked up at Bai Feng, recalling how cruel he’d been yesterday, playing with a blindfolded girl’s emotions as if it was a game. She’d felt like she wasn’t even herself anymore. Fear flickered across her eyes—d*mn it, this guy should be joining the Demon Path! How the hell did he manage to sneak into the righteous sect?
But on the other hand, she still held her dignity as a Merging Stage powerhouse. She wasn’t willing to just surrender.
After a few moments of hesitation, she resolutely lifted her head and said, “It’s a remnant of an Immortal corpse. But this remnant is even more special—it’s not part of an Immortal’s body but a natal magic treasure made from an Immortal’s own bl**d. Now, it seems the consciousness inside the treasure has faded over the ages, and its power has been drained more than those of other Immortal remnants.”
“Hmm, I hope you’re not deliberately lying or hiding anything,” Bai Feng nodded.
Ling Feng, standing nearby, looked more confused—just what was she saying? He’d always thought that a Merging Stage expert would have some sense of pride, even if only a token resistance.
He also admired Bai Feng even more: no wonder he was Young Master Bai. He could manage even a bl**d Snake in the Merging Stage so obediently.
After getting the info he wanted, Bai Feng and Ling Feng left the underground prison.
bl**d Snake stared furiously after them, vowing silently—if she ever escaped, she’d give these people a good lesson!
Just then, Bai Feng suddenly turned around. She quickly bowed her head, pretending she hadn’t seen anything.
……
On the way back, Ling Feng kept pondering the info bl**d Snake had given him. Before, he’d guessed many things—like the possibility of a celestial artifact used by Immortals, or something similar. But he never expected that the old bell on him was actually an Immortal’s remnant.
After a moment of thought, he looked at Bai Feng, who’d been silent all along, and couldn’t help but ask, “Young Master Bai, do you think I should forcibly remove the Old Bell from my body?”
“Why remove it? And it’s already deeply bound to you; it’s not so easy to take off,” Bai Feng shook his head. “Moreover, you’ve endured demon energy’s corrosion and tamed it—just keep heading down the path you want.”
“Got it. Thanks for the clarification, Young Master Bai.” Ling Feng nodded. Suddenly, he thought of something and hurriedly asked, “By the way, Young Master Bai, I want to stay in the Southern Region for a while. What do you think?”
Bai Feng cast him a sidelong glance—what’s this Child of Destiny about? Is this really something worth bothering him with?
“Just decide for yourself,” he said, patting Ling Feng’s shoulder. “With your talent, you can shine anywhere. No need to be tied down to a place.”
With that, he waved and left. He was worried that if he stayed longer, he’d have to double as a psychological counselor—he had little confidence in throwing out inspiring quotes.
Ling Feng watched Bai Feng’s departing figure, feeling a bit touched. It seemed he’d underestimated Bai Feng’s reputation among Stone and the others.
Since that’s the case, he definitely couldn’t afford to disappoint Young Master Bai. After the Southern Region war, he’d gained some understanding of the world’s current state. In the future, conflicts with the Divine Monarch would happen repeatedly, and he’d become the sharp blade piercing the Divine Monarch’s chest, clearing the path for Bai Feng.
This gave him a new resolve. He quickly turned and headed toward the territory of some Monster Tribes.
……
“The architecture and layout of the Southern Region are quite different from the Northern Region,” Bai Feng said as he walked along a street, looking up and taking in his surroundings. Though this was one of the bigger cities in the Southern Region, it still carried an aura of nature—lots of trees preserved within the city, some monsters hadn’t chosen to become human, and he even saw a few living in tree hollows.
“Brother, where are we heading next?” Bai Yu Mo asked curiously, walking beside him and observing her surroundings carefully.
“Just wandering around. It’s a break after all,” Bai Feng replied casually, checking the mini-map from his system.
Maybe it was because the Child of Destiny had gone back to seclusion after the Southern Region war to digest the gains, today few of them were hanging around the city—either leaving or staying in their caves. So he took the chance to come out walking, buy some gifts for Yu Yao and others to bring back.
