**Chapter 516: Bai Feng Discovers That Luo Qianqian Is a Bit Different**
“I can’t shake the feeling that I forgot something.”
Bai Feng rested his chin on one hand, deep in thought. After a moment, he suddenly remembered that he had completely forgotten about analyzing the Immortal’s Divine Consciousness with the system!
“What’s up with this system? It used to give me reminders, but now it’s as silent as a monk!”
He promptly opened the system and found a new line of text at the top of the interface:
【Organizing and analyzing the Immortal information…】
“?”
A big question mark seemed to float over Bai Feng’s head. What’s the deal with this system? Does it really take this long to organize and analyze information about Immortals?
Just then, perhaps by coincidence or because the system noticed Bai Feng was looking at it, a new pop-up window appeared.
【Ding! Insufficient information, organization failed. Please collect more Immortal items, and the currently organized information can be viewed in the new ‘Library’ section.】
“……”
Bai Feng stared at the system’s new pop-up. With so many contradictions, he couldn’t help but feel a bubbling frustration inside—like he had way too many things he wanted to say but couldn’t!
After a moment of internal struggle, he decided to check the newly added feature in the system. After all, it had been organizing for so long that it must have something interesting…or at least something better than this failure.
He clicked on the new library feature, and in the blink of an eye, he found himself transported to a mysterious space.
He took a good look around—everything was pitch black, just like the system’s trial space. It wasn’t an actual place but rather his Divine Consciousness entering this space, and he could leave any time he wanted. This felt oddly similar to a trial space.
While he pondered why the library was so dark, two torches suddenly lit up in front of him. As the darkness retreated, he saw the hard stone floor beneath his feet and massive bookshelves on either side.
But there weren’t many books on the shelves; most of them were empty.
“So, it really is a library…”
Bai Feng muttered to himself, then reached out to grab a book from the shelf. It was a cultivation technique for snake demons.
He put that one back and grabbed another book, which turned out to be “Tian Yan Sword Technique” by Yun Yue Yao.
“So this is how it’s organized.”
Suddenly, it all made sense. No wonder it took so long; extracting these techniques from the fragmented Divine Consciousness of the Immortals was no easy task!
He returned the “Tian Yan Sword Technique” to its place and took a few steps forward to grab a new book, flipping through it quickly.
A few minutes later, Bai Feng had skimmed most of the books and categorized the shelves into three sections—Techniques, History, and Autobiographies.
The Techniques section was self-explanatory and held all kinds of cultivation techniques from the Immortals. The History section contained various events from the Immortal Era, but it was seriously incomplete, with most books having only a few lines of text and vast empty spaces after that.
However, compared to the autobiographies of the Immortals, the History section looked practically intact. It’s either time had eroded the remaining Divine Consciousness, or the preserved information was never complete to begin with. In any case, aside from Fairy Tian Yan, the autobiographies of other Immortals were a mash-up of confusion.
Even the best autobiography from Fairy Tian Yan wasn’t much better—it was riddled with riddles that left readers scratching their heads.
“We were right, we must protect her and patiently wait… for what exactly?”
Bai Feng rubbed his forehead. He previously thought Fairy Tian Yan’s penchant for riddles was due to her poor grasp of language, but now it seemed like it was just her style!
Could she not just say things more clearly? If she had been a little more straightforward, the truth might have been revealed sooner, and this whole situation could have been resolved!
With the intention of finding more information, he flipped through a few more pages and stumbled upon a confession from Fairy Tian Yan:
“Is it hard to understand what I’m saying? I’m just telling them what I see! Why do they all think I’m purposely speaking in riddles?!”
“…”
What a clueless Immortal!
Bai Feng couldn’t help but roll his eyes—did she not realize she was speaking in riddles?
He turned to a few more pages, then suddenly paused. This page wasn’t choppy like the others; it was almost completely intact.
And the content wasn’t complex either. It explained how she sealed half of her power in the Tian Yan Sword, waiting for a fateful person, and how she had cut a part of her Divine Consciousness and stored it in a storage ring for her pet Nine-Tailed Fox to keep until that fateful person arrived.
But that wasn’t the most important part. There was a segment that left him deep in thought—“Hello future descendant, I know you have a lot of questions. But perhaps due to the vast stretch of time, or my severe injuries, I cannot predict what you want to ask. However, I can guess what you’re most concerned about: the disappearance of the Immortal Realm is temporary, and it’s not due to external enemies. But don’t let your guard down! Immortals are more terrifying than any foreign enemy, and even dead Immortals are a threat. I need you to stop them. This is our pact and your destiny.”
Perhaps due to the numerous critiques from other Immortals, this page was much easier to understand, free from all the riddle nonsense.
“This must be Fairy Tian Yan’s Divine Consciousness speaking to the wielder of the Tian Yan Sword.”
He wasn’t surprised; when facing the Divine Monarch, he had already guessed that the disappearance of the Immortal Realm was likely related to these Immortals.
Wait a minute, did the system trick me again? It absorbs information but doesn’t at least spit out the message left by Fairy Tian Yan!
“Forget it.”
He shook his head and didn’t press the issue further. Knowing this in advance wouldn’t change anything and was just a matter of satisfying his curiosity.
But his curiosity about what kind of system he had kept growing. Which Immortal created it? And why target the Child of Destiny?
After a moment of pondering, he decided to give up on the deep thinking—he still didn’t have enough information to make any deductions.
“Time to make a game instead.”
Lately, Little Jiu had been urging him, so it was about time to finish the full version.
As he went to check on the game’s progress, he bumped into Luo Qianqian, who had just returned from completing a task.
“Eh?”
Bai Feng paused. He felt like Luo Qianqian was subtly different from before, but he couldn’t quite put his finger on what it was.
He opened the system again but found that Luo Qianqian wasn’t the Child of Destiny nor a disguising Demon Woman.
After pondering for a few seconds, he decided not to dismiss his gut feeling. Instead, he prepared to investigate what Luo Qianqian had been up to.
His suspicion wasn’t baseless—the Array Peak had a privilege: unlike the other peaks, they didn’t have a fixed schedule for executing tasks every month. So it was pretty strange for Luo Qianqian, a disciple who had never participated in tasks before, to suddenly go out on one!
‘Maybe I’m overthinking this.’
Bai Feng smiled and waved at a startled Luo Qianqian, making sure he didn’t give away any signs of his suspicion.
A few minutes later, after checking on Luo Qianqian’s information, he began to read slowly.
“The task location checks out.”
Bai Feng read the task information, which involved dealing with a ‘River God’ demanding sacrifices of boys and girls, which turned out to be a mudfish that had cultivated into a spirit.
But why did Luo Qianqian take on this task?
He furrowed his brow, continuing to look into her background—at least on the surface, everything seemed fine, nothing made up or phony.
Am I just being overly sensitive?
After a few seconds of thought, Bai Feng decided to call for backup: “Tian Yan, come out for a moment— I need your help!”
