Chapter 543 Chu Chu: I Want to Level Up a Bit More Before Getting Revenge
Bai Feng had no clue what Hu Yiyi was thinking—he actually detected her asking around about someone related to him, and she didn’t even bother to hide it, straight-up approaching people she thought he was on good terms with and asking. Talk about being direct—no secretive mind games here!
So, Bai Feng’s guess about her doing this was pretty much spot-on, and there was no way in hell he’d connect it to the tiger she kept dreaming about. Honestly, not only was that a huge leap in logic, but he didn’t think Hu Yiyi had enough brains to make such a jump.
Turns out—plot twist—she’s not unintelligent, just got a weird brain circuit that mostly runs on “food” and only kicks into gear when she’s full and something interesting catches her eye. That “interest” in her dreams? Yep, that’s the tiger.
“Recently, Chu Chu smoothly broke into the Refinement Stage, and now Tian Yan has also succeeded in reaching the Merging Stage. It’s about time we make a move,” Bai Feng slowly got to his feet. Honestly, he’d been preparing for this moment, but the plan was so huge it only just managed to come together today.
He stepped out of the so-called “office,” which was basically the lazy rest area, into the most familiar research institute.
“Bai Feng,” a voice immediately licked at his ears as he entered, and a figure pressed closer.
“Oh, Senior Sister Su Lan Qian, you’re here so early?”
Bai Feng chuckled, ruffling her hair. He kept noticing she was getting clingier—well, she was always somewhat clingy, but before, maybe her lingering Heart Demon was making her shy. Now? She’s just boldly sticking to him.
Arm tucked around him, her tiny face burrowed into his clothes as she mumbled, “Because I wanted to see you the moment you walked in.”
And she spoke so straightforwardly that Bai Feng felt a bit overwhelmed—what’s with this girl’s sudden boldness?
“Alright, alright, let’s get to the serious stuff first,” Bai Feng continued to pat her head. After a few seconds, she finally loosened her grip around his waist.
“All the data is here,” Su Lan Qian said, walking over to a desk where all the array schematics were meticulously laid out.
“Thanks, Senior Sister Su,” Bai Feng said, seriously studying the files. Meanwhile, she simply perched beside him, half of her body leaning on him, watching him read.
‘I really wanna hold him tighter, feel his scent all over me…’ Her little heart fluttered.
“What’s wrong?” Bai Feng asked with a side glance, noticing her leaning closer.
Su Lan Qian shyly nuzzled him again, shaking her head. “Nothing…”
‘Can’t bother him while he works… but I really wanna… mmm, just a little more patience…’
Watching her intimate gestures, Bai Feng pondered for a few seconds before gently scooping her into his arms again and continuing to stare at the array data.
Her secret little wishes temporarily sated, she finally quieted down a bit.

“By the way, are there still people taking photos near our Siku Family house lately?”
“Master, that’s not photography—that’s capturing spirit beasts. It’s the basic move in beast duel games,” came the reply.
“I know it’s a game from Tian Yan Holy Land, but those communicators are made by Tian Jian Sect. I don’t buy that the two organizations are totally transparent—they’re hiding something. Maybe Bai Xiao is using this game to target us.”
Heh, if it wasn’t for not offending the Holy Land, he’d have shut down that game across the entire city long ago. Instead, all they did was ban taking pictures near the Siku house.
“Understood,” the middle-aged man said, calming his anger. Then he asked, “How’s the culling going?”
“Most people won’t come after warning, but… some still do.”
“Then teach them a lesson, just don’t k*ll anyone. Do I need to remind you of that?”
“But, most of those are other noble young masters and misses, or disciples from Holy Land and other sects,” he explained.
The Siku Family wasn’t closed off enough to bar all visitors. Occasionally, other family members, or sect disciples on errands, would pass through—resting, buying pills, stuff like that. They couldn’t just chase everyone away—it’d offend their backers and cut off a hefty income.
“Mainly warnings then—I’ll talk to the Holy Land and other sects,” he reassured.
“Got it.” The servant nodded quickly. Then hesitated a moment, tilting his head. “Master, some of our family folks are also playing that game… Maybe you’d like to know?”
Whoa, that set the family head off like a thunderclap: “I already said no playing! d*mn it—I can’t discipline the sect disciples, but I can’t discipline your own? Tell me who’s playing that game, I’ll handle it myself!”
“Yes, sir!”
“Oh, hold on—another thing. Has the Divine Monarch done anything recently?”
“They say they sent someone, but ever since the last assassination attempt, Bai Feng has barely come out.”
The Siku Family boss frowned. “They can’t touch Bai Feng directly, so they’re not attacking his people either?”
“I asked around—they said Bai Feng’s people rarely leave the sect, and even catching ordinary disciples is pointless.”
“d*mn it,” the head slammed the table, furious at the fruitless investments. All that money spent, and what? Nada. “Forget it, you’re dismissed.”
“Yes!”

Meanwhile, at Tian Jian Sect, Chu Chu was still pushing herself to train harder and level up.
After long, grueling practice and her breakthrough into the Refinement Stage, her Celestial Eye had become even sharper. The biggest change? She no longer needed to wear an eye patch to contain her Celestial Eye’s power.
Well, she still wore it, partly because her eyes hadn’t gone back to normal—plus, Bai Feng himself made those patches and praised her for looking good in them. So, she just kept wearing it.
“Not bad, not bad. Even though you just entered the Refinement Stage, you’re already comparable to cultivators who’ve been at it for years,” Bai Feng praised, putting down his wooden sword.
“Thanks to you all,” Chu Chu panted, a bright smile spreading on her face. She’d finally caught up with Bai Feng, Bai Yu Mo, and the others after so long.
“Take a break for a bit. I’ve got something to discuss with you,” Bai Feng said casually.
“Mm,” she nodded.
A moment later, Bai Feng brought out a small plate of pastries and a string of candied hawthorns.
“Here.”
Chu Chu took the candied hawthorn, a faint blush on her cheeks: “Thank you.”
Ever since Bai Feng made her her first candied hawthorn, she’s been hooked on that flavor.
She slightly opened her mouth, nibbling the hard sugar shell gently, tasting the tart hawthorn mingled with sweet sugar—mouthful after mouthful of deliciousness.
“Bet you’ve been holding back a lot lately, huh?” Bai Feng also bit into a small round cake, teasing.
Chu Chu set down the candied hawthorn, her dark eyes flickering with a faint crimson. She nodded softly: “Since I entered the Refinement Stage, my killing intent has grown every day.”
“But at times like these, you mustn’t rush—it’s dangerous if your cultivation goes awry,” Bai Feng advised.
“Yeah,” she replied, hesitating for a few seconds, then looked up at him with a slight tilt of her head. “Can I ask you for something?”
“Sure, what’s up?”
He was used to her expressing her thoughts clearly now; he felt pleased with his progress.
“I want to improve my cultivation a bit more before I go revenge hunting…”
