Chapter 551: Who Knew There Would Be Unexpected Gains
White Feng pondered for a moment and suddenly had an idea: “System, absorb the Divine Consciousness fragments of the Immortal.”
[Ding! Absorption successful…]
[Ding! Locating the main body of the Immortal’s Divine Consciousness…]
[Ding! Location marked. Mission issued — eliminate the Divine Consciousness.]
White Feng stared at the endless pop-ups from the system, feeling a bit surprised—who would have thought there’d be an unexpected surprise this time?
Apparently, his guess was right—the Divine Consciousness fragment was secretly placed there by the Divine Monarch’s folks. No wonder this Divine Monarch, created by multiple Immortals, had such deep foundation. It’s no wonder he could spar with the Holy Land for so long.
“Bai Feng!”
Suddenly, Chu Chu’s exclamation pulled him back from his thoughts. He looked down at the Celestial Eye in his hand but found it no longer shining brightly. Instead, it gradually dimmed until it turned dull gray, like a stone.
Could this bit of Divine Consciousness still keep the Celestial Eye in its original state after being pulled out?
White Feng’s mind raced, and then suddenly he remembered—when exactly was this Divine Consciousness fragment transplanted into the Celestial Eye? Also, where did the technology to transplant the Celestial Eye and the people come from?
If his guess was correct, the Divine Monarch’s people probably had their eyes set on Chu Chu and Bai Yu Mo right from the start, since they both possess Celestial Eyes and Celestial Bones.
He stopped pondering, resealed the jade box, and said, “Although this might sound like a joke straight from the Underworld, do you want a perfect-fit spiritual tool?”
Though Chu Chu had regrown her Celestial Eye, the two eyes were not identical now. Chu Chu’s Celestial Eye affected others’ emotions, while the one in the jade box was used to peer into others’ innermost thoughts.
Chu Chu thought for a few seconds. Clearly, her eyes couldn’t be transplanted anymore, and she saw that Bai Feng wasn’t very interested in the Celestial Eyes either. She nodded:
“Hmm, thanks for the trouble.”
“Alright, let’s head back first. I happen to have a few people I can find to help manage the Siku Family.”
……
“Well, everything’s sorted. Some spiritual items I won’t need have been separated out, ready to sell,” Yun Yue Yao popped out of her ring, reaching out and grabbing Bai Feng’s arm. “So, dear, don’t I deserve a reward?”
“Thanks for the trouble. What do you want?” Bai Feng rubbed her head with a smile.
“Let me think… give me a loving kiss~” she said, tilting her head slightly.
“Wait until we get back,” Bai Feng replied. There are still others here, elders even. He really lacked the nerve.
Suddenly, a figure appeared before him.
“Missed it by a hair’s breadth, but luckily I saw the Holy Land’s people chasing after the fleeing Divine Monarch on the way. I stepped in to help, so it wasn’t a wasted trip,” says this person as he looks at his daughter and Bai Feng’s intimate moment, then at Bai Yu Mo, Chu Chu, and others beside Bai Feng. He strokes his chin. “Looks like the rumors weren’t lies after all!”
“Uncle Yun.” Bai Feng greeted somewhat awkwardly.
Yun Yue Yao hurriedly ran to Bai Feng, blocking them, and tightly hugged him. Then she turned to Yun Shū and said, “Remember what we agreed on? Don’t interfere in Bai Feng and my affairs.”
“How come your arms are quick to go astray? I’m your old man!” Yun Shū said with mild annoyance, then looked up at Bai Feng. He’d heard some things about Bai Feng before, so he…was still pretty angry. But, what could he do when his daughter kept trying to push her relationship? Writing multiple letters telling him to stay out of it?
“You…”
Before he could finish, Yun Yue Yao interrupted, “Bai Feng treats me well; I know my place. You don’t need to go on about useless stuff.”
“…“ Yun Shū was at a loss for words. Maybe he shouldn’t have come here.
His own carefully nurtured little bok choy, taken over by this guy? Though he had talked about an engagement before with Bai Feng’s father, but… dammit! #%&*@!
“Forget it, I won’t say more.” Yun Shū shook his head helplessly. “Do you have plans for the Siku Family from now on? As an experienced person, I suggest…”
He gestured around his neck, indicating that these enemies, who’ve already made enemies for life, didn’t need to be kept around.
“We have our plans,” Yun Yue Yao nodded. She beat him to it: “Host a feast, execute the traitors, and declare them as our loyal hounds.”
“That’s a pretty good plan,” Yun Shū pondered for a few seconds, apparently thinking about his old friend’s daughter. This way, their status was legitimate, and the internal conflict within the Siku Family transformed from an outside-in invasion to a family feud. It would also make things easier for the not-involved members—less hatred, fewer complications.
After a moment’s thought, his gaze fell on Yun Yue Yao, who kept staring at him deeply. It felt a bit uncomfortable. Was it just worry she’d get bullied? That’s why she said a few nasty words through the communicator? Or maybe she’s just that possessive? He could tell his daughter’s nature—if Bai Feng treated her badly, she wouldn’t protect him like this. He nodded and said, “Alright, I won’t disturb you anymore. If you encounter any trouble, just look for this elder.”
“Thanks, Uncle Yun. Safe travels.” Bai Feng waved goodbye.
After Uncle Yun left, he looked down at Yun Yue Yao, still holding onto him: “You’re so insistent, isn’t Uncle Yun going to be sad?”
