Teaching the Female Lead to Be Thick-Skinned, Not Shameless – Chapter 1

# Chapter 1: Feels Like Anyone Can Mess with Them

Staying up all night reading novels resulted in one fateful day when I closed my eyes and suddenly realized I had become a Brainless Evil Male Supporting Character!

And not just any villain, but the kind who, when his body is found, is still clutching a half-eaten, moldy fried dough stick.

Those familiar with urban literature know that only a wicked male supporting character can stir up trouble to push the plot along between the male and female protagonists.

Once I fully absorbed the memories of this world, a wry smile crept onto my mouth, because looking at the surrounding group of high schoolers in uniforms, that smile quickly turned sour!

“Isn’t this a bit rushed?”

Before crossing over, I was a skinny orphan in a welfare home, frequently bullied, and vowed never to let anyone push me around again, hence the name Dragon Brother—it sounds cool, powerful, and mighty!

But I have no clue when my majestic name turned into a joke.

I’ll never forget that day I introduced myself and the shocked looks from everyone, as if I had played a gigantic prank on them.

Only after some explanation from my coworkers did I discover that my ‘name’ had become a viral internet meme, thanks to a popular new novel.

Confused, I went home after work and searched for that novel.

In the story, Dragon Brother is a senior in high school, but is a rebellious bad student, fighting and brawling like it’s a daily routine, embodying arrogance!

Fine, it’s just a story; I gritted my teeth and kept reading.

But the more I read, the more infuriating it got.

I really wanted to poke the author’s nose and ask if they wrote it intentionally or if they were just clumsy!

What’s with the crooked smile garbage? Is there really someone this stupid?

As the wicked male supporting character, I was supposed to stir trouble to propel the storyline. This meant bullying and tormenting the female protagonist to make her miserable while ultimately leading to the male protagonist’s appearance, like a warm ray of sunlight saving her from the darkness.

At this point, I could still tolerate the story!

But then things took a turn for the worse!

As it turns out, I didn’t even realize when Dragon Brother unintentionally fell for the female protagonist while bullying her!

What the heck?! You can’t tell me anyone could write such a rushed plot without suffering a massive brain freeze for at least ten years!

And after seeing her with the male protagonist, he gets jealous and decides to go all out on trying to snatch her away!

Not only does he come for the male protagonist, but he doubles down on mercilessly torturing the female protagonist.

To fill up word count, the author threw in the plotlines of White Moonlight Female Supporting Character 2 and Childhood Friend Female Supporting Character 3!

And then it got really explosive—thanks to hating the male protagonist, Dragon Brother swore to take away every girl he liked!

So, there he was, relentlessly tormenting the female protagonist while also harassing the second female lead and trying to toy with the third!

His tactics included threats, bribes, coercion, and even drugging!

In the end, none of it worked, and he inadvertently became the male protagonist’s wingman!

Ultimately, this despicable villain met his demise, gripping a half-eaten, moldy fried dough stick, dead on the street.

After pulling an all-nighter to finish this ending, my heart was in turmoil.

I couldn’t comprehend how such a brainless plot could exist.

At the story’s end, I wildly questioned the author, and then woke up to find myself sitting in a classroom!

If memory serves, before the class bell rings, the female protagonist will transfer into this class.

Feeling an intense survival urge, I shot up from my seat.

This sudden movement made every student in the room turn to stare at me.

No time to explain.

Just thinking about the original plot, where I’d end up dying in the streets, gripping a moldy fried dough stick, made attending this class impossible!

I’d better drop out—stay as far away from the male and female protagonists as possible.

By the time I dashed to the school gate, I discovered it was tightly shut, and a barbed wire fence surrounded the walls.

Testing the height of the gate, I made a running leap, only to be pinned down by a couple of security guards!

“Hey, it’s you again! You think you can sneak over the wall and out the gate? Do you take us for air?”

“Let me go! I want to drop out!” I struggled.

“Drop out? Ha! Looks like you just want to skip class! If you slip past, it’s a personal failure for us!”

Despite being fit, against five security guards, I predictably got escorted back to class.

Ding ding ding…

As the class bell rang, I fixated on the classroom door.

One second, two seconds, three seconds, then a middle-aged woman strode in.

The expression on her face and her piercing gaze said it all—she was the Homeroom Teacher!

After entering, she lightly tapped the desk to grab everyone’s attention.

Then coolly announced, “We have a new member joining our class today; let’s give a warm welcome.”

Then she waved someone in from outside, “Hu Yu Ying, please come in.”

Upon hearing that name, despair flooded my heart!

Then I paused and quickly snapped back to reality.

Wait a second, I just crossed over! All the drama about me bullying and tormenting the female protagonist hasn’t even begun yet—what am I worried about?

As long as I don’t follow the plot and bully her, I can change my tragic fate of ending up dead with a moldy dough stick!

Thinking this, I let out a sigh of relief!

Feeling enlightened, I relaxed completely!

As the Homeroom Teacher finished her announcement, a slender figure walked in at the classroom door.

The girl was thin, wearing a faded school uniform, her pale face giving off a rather unhealthy coldness, looking very timid overall.

She took a shy glance at her classmates, then quickly lowered her head, her long eyelashes quivering slightly.

But after adjusting her breathing, she slightly bent at the waist and quietly said, “Hello everyone, I’m Hu Yu Ying, and I’ve transferred from Second High.”

As she said this, her pale skin flushed with a subtle pink from nerves, giving off an almost endearing vibe.

“Her voice is sweet and soft, perfectly matching her pure, shy face that turns red at the slightest moment. No wonder she gets bullied.”

The moment I laid eyes on Hu Yu Ying, I instinctively judged her.

She seems far too easy to mess with—feels like anyone could toy with her!
