Chapter 112: Turns Out, Everything Was Predestined All Along
Gazing at his latest post on social media, Ye Liang Chen’s mouth curled into a confident smile — one that screamed “I know what I’m doing.”
Hu Yu Ying’s side was already a no-go. Only by making her experience firsthand the irresponsibility of Dragon Brother (Male) and the shackles of poverty could she finally give up and truly understand the consequences of rejecting him.
“You could have had a bright future, but you chose the wrong path,” he mused. “I tried a million times to save you from the water and fire — but nope, that was all on you, so don’t blame me now!”
Thinking about how he’d soon be dressed in a sharp suit, rocking a tie, driving a fancy car, and flaunting a luxurious watch in front of Hu Yu Ying’s stall filled him with a strange sort of satisfaction. Her shock, envy, regret, and low self-esteem… yep, that feeling was gone, just like that.
He shifted his gaze back to his phone screen.
The last time he and Li Qing Xue argued, it was his fault. He shouldn’t have said those words to her.
This time, Ye Liang Chen was genuinely trying to clear the air, to untangle the misunderstanding between them.
After knowing each other for nine years, sure, he messed up — but did Li Qing Xue really have no fault at all?
He couldn’t totally blame himself for everything.
Who can tolerate their woman mentioning another man right in front of them?
Li Qing Xue deserved at least half the blame.
Still, he was the one who lowered his noble head first.
If he wanted her to regret her choices, he had to first dissolve their misunderstanding.
And so, upon seeing Li Qing Xue’s post, he immediately whipped out his own.
No particular reason — just wanted her to know he could go to Kyoto too.
She previously said she didn’t want to date in high school, at least in college, she’d think about it.
Well, now he had done it.
Li Qing Xue should follow her own words and start dating him soon, right?
He exited the post interface.
Closing his eyes, Ye Liang Chen quietly waited for Li Qing Xue to start a chat.
Surely, when she saw his post, she’d understand what he was trying to say.
In fact, he’d been waiting for her all along!
Just as he was about to drift off, still waiting for her message, he sighed deeply, opening Li Qing Xue’s chat window.
“Why do you have to be so stubborn?” he murmured.
“Fine, I admit… I lost this round. You just wanted me to reach out first, huh? You win.”
Muttering to himself, he started typing.
“Qing Xue, I got accepted to a university in Kyoto. We might not go to the same school, but it’s not that far. We’ve known each other for so long — it’s time for lovers to finally unite!”
He pressed send.
Then continued editing: “The things before — I guess that was my fault. I was too focused on you. Let’s reconcile, like old times.”
Words said like that — but inside, Ye Liang Chen didn’t buy any of it.
He’d let Li Qing Xue temporarily have her favorites. But next time she got lost in her affection, he’d withdraw without hesitation.
Then she’d collapse in regret, realize she loved him, and chase after him furiously — a perfect revenge scenario in the making!
No choice now. The butterfly effect triggered by his rebirth had already cost him Hu Yu Ying for now.
But no worries. Thanks to his rebirth advantage, he still had other tricks up his sleeve: first, fix Li Qing Xue and Lin Wan Ning.
This time, he wouldn’t be so reckless or self-righteous.
Everything was already predestined by the heavens, he just had to follow the plan and accept it calmly.
No more trying to help the ‘hidden treasure girl’ early, only to cause a butterfly effect and lose her forever.
Ding~
His phone chimed.
Ye Liang Chen took a deep breath, calming his restless heart before reaching for his phone.
Seeing the reply, he froze.
He rubbed his eyes, then looked again.
“Done for. I think I’m hallucinating.”
“How can Qing Xue possibly call me crazy?”
He shook his head, then hurried into the bathroom, splashed cold water on his face, and after washing up, looked at his phone again.
Suddenly, clutching his chest, he took two steps back. If the bathroom weren’t so small and the wall right behind him, he might’ve actually fallen flat on his face.
“No, this can’t be happening…”
He quickly dialed Li Qing Xue’s penguin video call.
When it was instantly hung up, Ye Liang Chen’s breathing quickened. He hurriedly typed on his phone: “Qing Xue, are you trying to drive me to d*ath?”
Li Qing Xue: 【Ye Liang Chen, are you crazy? Is your brain only filled with love?】
【What did you say in the classroom before?】
【You said we’d be just friends from now on. Why are you talking weird stuff now?】
Li Qing Xue, after seeing Ye Liang Chen’s message, also felt a slight irritation rising.
What does he mean, wanting to “drive her to d*ath”?
What did she do that made him want to d*e?
Li Qing Xue involuntarily recalled how she hadn’t stopped arguing with Ye Liang Chen for half a year after senior year — unless Dragon Brother (Male) showed up, her mood would’ve been ruined early on.
Thinking about this, she unconsciously compared Ye Liang Chen with Dragon Brother (Male).
And the more she thought of Dragon Brother (Male), the more her previously gloomy mood started to shift.
Turns out, some people only bring you good emotional value.
While others, regardless of their intentions, just dump all their negativity onto you.
【Qing Xue, how could you say that? Do you know what I’ve done for you? Do you understand how much I’ve sacrificed?】
【You still don’t see clearly what’s in your heart after all these years, nine years of knowing each other, nine years of being companions. Is it really that hard to admit you love me?】
【Just admit it — isn’t bottling it all inside worse?】
Seeing Ye Liang Chen’s message, Li Qing Xue rolled her eyes helplessly.
“I used to think we were the best of friends — like a brother to me, from the bottom of my heart.”
“Maybe I gave you some false impressions. But I’m telling you now — I never liked you. Not even for a second.”
After saying that, she felt it wasn’t quite serious enough, so she added, “Not even a moment.”
Looking at the messages popping up on her phone, Ye Liang Chen smiled, tears slowly streaming from his eyes.
“So you still haven’t awakened… Haha. Fine, don’t blame me for giving you a hard smack of reality!”
“Seems like if I want you to wake up, I have to let you see how you lost me firsthand.”
“Back then, the treasure girl’s sense of crisis made you regret and wake up.”
“But now, I’ll use Lin Wan Ning to stimulate you — make you realize again that you’re in danger of losing me, and love me deeply.”
“Don’t blame me. If you don’t look elsewhere, you’ll regret it. But if you find someone else, you’ll only get hurt. Haha, so this pain — it’s what you must go through, isn’t it? Turns out, everything was predestined…”
