Chapter 117: A Woven Bag
A stiff smile froze on Li Qing Xue’s face as she nonchalantly said, “But I think it looks more like a little bunny, you know?”
Hearing that, plus that semi-smile on Li Qing Xue’s face, Dragon Brother (Male) seemed to realize something: “You don’t say, it really does look like one.”
After saying that, he bit down, and there was a brief moment of silence in the air.
Li Qing Xue looked at him expectantly, eager to hear his opinion.

He then pulled the bunny-shaped cookie out of his mouth.

He took a deep breath, kept his expression steady, and tucked the cookie into his pocket.
Somehow, a jar of cookies got mixed in with something strange—great.
Now Dragon Brother (Male) lost interest in eating; God forbid a stray piece of that weird stuff cracking his teeth—such a disaster would not be worth it.
He finished the remaining fruit and drinks, then sprawled on the grass, feeling pretty content: “Alright, all clear now.”
“Yeah yeah.” Li Qing Xue propped her chin with one hand; even though she ate less, seeing Dragon Brother (Male) chow down so fiercely cheered her up.
Suddenly, from not too far away, familiar voices drifted over.

And saw two figures on the main road—one slim, one chubby—chatting away.
“Quan, don’t you still believe me? I was just drunk yesterday and forgot. Do you really think Brother Chen is that kind of person?”

If that beast Dragon Brother (Male)—rancid scoundrel that he is—hadn’t conned him out of three hundred yuan, he wouldn’t be losing face in front of Gao Quan now.
And Gao Quan himself, for not answering his calls yesterday, had basically signaled he had no money. Now he’s coming back, asking for it. Ridiculous… sigh.

“Bye, be careful riding your bike.” Dragon Brother (Male) waved his hand, leaving first.
“Okay, see you,” Li Qing Xue softly said, watching his retreating figure.
Then she suddenly remembered something, quietly took out her phone, and snapped a picture of Dragon Brother (Male) from behind.
The sunset’s glow cast a warm orange over the horizon, flooding the ground. The boy’s back radiated spirit and an untamed vibe.
Looking at the photo on her phone, Li Qing Xue was satisfied and turned around, riding along the road bathed in warm orange light.
When she reached her apartment building, Dragon Brother (Male) didn’t stop; passing the vegetable market, he kept walking. Then, in a familiar alley, his pace slowed.
He reached the door, took a deep breath, then exhaled heavily.
He knocked on the door.
No response.
He looked inside through the crack, saw the tricycle, and noticed that the piled-up goods on the tricycle had been tidied up.
“Are they out?”
Dragon Brother (Male) withdrew his gaze and sat on a stone beside the door.
After a long while, the sky darkened further. He got up and moved toward the eastern side of the alley.
Hu Yu Ying had walked this path with him before, passing a train track—you remember that, right?
He climbed onto the train platform and headed toward the main gate on the other side.
Dragon Brother (Male)’s steps didn’t stop. He didn’t even know where to go now, so he thought, better walk around.
Maybe, just maybe, he’d bump into Little Girl (Female).
Night fell, and the city’s lights started to glow with residual heat, illuminating the dark world in a riot of colors.
It was noisy, but full of the scent of fireworks.
“City management is coming!”
Someone shouted.
Dragon Brother (Male) looked over.
And saw many vendors scattering in all directions.
Some were riding tricycles, others on electric bikes, and some—dragging woven bags and panting—were rushing away…
