As the troop transport slowly rolled in, T University was about to embark on a two-week military training adventure.
Honestly, Kyoto’s weather was hotter than Bay City, and just standing there, sweat was pouring out like a waterfall. And this was before any actual training had started!

“Report, Instructor, I, I want to eat some!” Dragon Brother’s mouth twitched as he looked at Huang Fei beside him. “You run so fast, you can’t even hold out for a bit? Did you run with your mouth?”
“I’m a sprinter; it’s all about explosive power!” Huang Fei retorted, sticking his tongue out defensively.
Seeing Dragon Brother and Huang Fei whispering, the instructor chuckled and nodded, “Alright, just the two of you. Anyone else?”
Once the two dorm mates raised their hands, Li Long Long and Xu Shuai couldn’t resist doing the same.
It was like a chain reaction, and soon several others were raising their hands as well.
The instructor then started naming names, but this time, it was all girls who got picked.
Each girl who was called out barely looked able to stand, their faces flushed red.
The selected girls stood in a row, while the boys who also raised hands lined up opposite them.
After a little showdown, everyone was commanded to sit cross-legged on the ground by the instructor.
A slice of watermelon was placed between them.
“Countdown is over; whoever grabs the watermelon first gets it,” the instructor announced, starting the countdown.
Most of the girls were called because they were too weak, while the boys had willingly raised their hands just for the watermelon.
At the sound of the countdown, everyone was suddenly laser-focused.
On such a hot day, with all that sweat, nobody could resist the temptation of taking a bite out of that chilled, juicy watermelon.
“Three, two, one, go!”
As soon as the instructor finished counting, the watermelon was snatched up at lightning speed by the boys.
The refreshing coolness and the dry throats got them chomping down without hesitation.
Seeing the girls who didn’t manage to grab a watermelon gulping in envy, Dragon Brother split his watermelon in half. “Here, have some.”
“Th-thank you.” Han Xiao Jing looked up, her little face beaming with appreciation, and didn’t refuse; she was hot and thirsty.
Li Long Long, munching on his watermelon, paused as he stared in disbelief at the messy sight of his own piece.
In that moment, he felt his romantic hopes rapidly deflating.

Han Xiao Jing nibbled at her watermelon, watching Dragon Brother savoring his. Sweat rolled down her cheek, dripping onto her neck.

“Game’s over! You all, step out and run a lap around the field. Everyone else can take a break!”
“Hahahaha…” Dragon Brother doubled over laughing amidst his friends’ glaring looks.
Who in their right mind would pass up on the chance to eat free watermelon? The instructor wasn’t just that nice on the first day of military training!
Hiding in the shade, Dragon Brother sat down and started fanning himself with his cap.
“Hey, Dragon Brother, here’s a drink for you.”
Han Xiao Jing handed him a bottle of ice-cold beverage.
“Thanks.”

Dragon Brother pointed to the ones still running their lap. “I’m going to buy my three little buddies something to drink.”
She snorted at his words, “Three little buddies?”
After Dragon Brother left, Han Xiao Jing made her way to her little group.
“What were you all talking about? Why did he leave?”
“He said he’s going to buy drinks for his three little buddies,” Han Xiao Jing explained.
“Little buddies?” Shen Meng Jie chuckled, curiously looking at Dragon Brother’s receding figure.
“Little Jing, don’t tell me you fell for him just because of half a watermelon?” others chimed in teasingly.
Sometimes, girls can be way more playful than boys!
“N-no! You guys are just being ridiculous!”
“That Dragon Brother is actually pretty handsome. If you’re not interested, we won’t hold back!” Shen Meng Jie joked.
“Unreserved? Bring it on!”
Han Xiao Jing said that, but her shy response only made her friends laugh even more.

After retrieving his phone, Dragon Brother glanced at his messages and opened up the app.
Seeing a photo from Hu Yu Ying in her training gear, he smiled relaxedly.
“Hey, Huang, help me take a photo.”
“I’ve told you countless times, don’t call me Huang, call me A Fei!” Huang Fei grumbled, because “Old Huang” just sounded off.
Taking Dragon Brother’s phone, he started snapping pictures.
“Are you being a bit too serious?”
Looking at the camera, Dragon Brother had his cap on, straightened his collar, and stood up straight. Huang Fei commented.
“Then what should I do?”
“Relax a bit. Just act natural, like how you usually are. It’ll look better that way.”
After thinking it over, Dragon Brother took off his cap and carelessly tossed his sweaty hair back while loosening a couple of buttons on his shirt.
With the sunlight shining upon him, he looked effortlessly charming and laid-back.
With his collar slightly open and an alluring Adam’s apple, he was undeniably eye-catching.
“Whoa, with looks like that, you’re going to end up friendless!” Huang Fei had to admit, the way Dragon Brother carried himself was genuinely magnetic.
Even a guy like him found Dragon Brother’s rebellious charm kind of sexy.
Taking back his phone, Dragon Brother sent his photo to Hu Yu Ying.
Then he zoomed in on Hu Yu Ying’s training photo, which was clearly taken by someone else. The little girl seemed a bit shy, clutching her oversized military uniform.
Her slightly flushed cheeks and sweet smile were both innocent and undeniably charming.
After a few glances, he saved the photo on his phone.
