Chapter 179: Admit It, Traitor, or No One Can Help You
A week flew by in the blink of an eye.
“This weekend’s almost over; we just need to go to class for three more days, and then it’s a glorious seven-day mini vacation! So, what’s everyone planning?”
It was Huang Fei speaking. He typically wanted to invite Shen Meng Jie out to play—preferably somewhere far away where they could cultivate a little romance along the way.
Once the fun was over and the distance was too far to rush home, they could squeeze into a hotel for some… “quality time”. Heh heh heh.
But, as is often the case, the ideal scenario turned out to be a real bummer—he got rejected. Since he didn’t want to go home, he decided to ask what the others were up to instead.
“Ugh, not much planned,” Li Long Long sighed inwardly. He and Huang Fei were on the same wavelength, but their outcomes remained tragically bleak.
He couldn’t tell if it was because he wasn’t trying hard enough, but it always felt like there was an invisible wall between him and Han Xiao Jing.
They could still smile and chat when they met, and they could even go for meals in groups, but whenever he tried to ask her out alone, it was a flat-out no.
Like just now, he texted her to meet up, and she asked who else was coming. When he said it was just the two of them, she shot him down instantly. It felt like all his efforts had crashed against a soft pillow…
“Heh heh heh…”
“Heh heh heh…”
As the two lamented, a rather lewd laughter echoing into their ears piqued their curiosity.
Following the sound, they found Xu Shuai buried under his blankets, the laughter clearly emanating from his cocoon!
Huang Fei and Li Long Long exchanged glances, then slowly approached Xu Shuai’s bed before suddenly yanking the blankets away.
There lay Xu Shuai sprawled out, cradling his phone with both hands, giggling lecherously at whatever was on the screen.
Startled by the sudden exposure, he jumped up like a frightened rabbit and quickly shoved the phone out of sight.
With a flustered expression, he looked at the two, “What the heck are you doing?”
“What do you mean, what are we doing?” Huang Fei and Li Long Long spoke to Xu Shuai, but their eyes were glued to the phone he’d hastily hidden.
“Our motto in Room 147 is ‘brothers in trouble, we stand united, never abandon, never give up,’ and yet you’ve been harboring ulterior motives towards us!”
“I haven’t! Don’t make things up!” Xu Shuai retorted immediately.
“Oh really? Then what were you doing earlier? Sneaking around under your blankets playing with your phone and giggling in such a raunchy way? You still dare deny it?”
Xu Shuai glanced at Dragon Brother, “You say something fair!”
Dragon Brother got out of bed and stood beside Huang Fei and Li Long Long. “Admit it, traitor, or no one can help you.”
When this was said, Huang Fei and Li Long Long were caught off guard, staring at Dragon Brother.
Because Dragon Brother had always given them a sense of being fair and mature…
Noticing their bewildered looks, Dragon Brother raised an eyebrow, “What are you staring at me for? We should be focusing on this traitor!”
Originally hoping Dragon Brother would defend him, Xu Shuai quickly realized he had pinned his hopes on the wrong one.
Faced with three judgmental stares, Xu Shuai threw in the towel, “I said you have to promise me—pretend you don’t know or you’ll lose a good father!”
The three nodded.
Suddenly, Xu Shuai’s expression turned delightfully weird, as if he’d just unearthed a treasure.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa, you can’t be serious…”
“Shh, shh, shh!” Xu Shuai jumped up and clamped both their mouths shut with his hands.
“If you dare shove your foot in my mouth, I swear I’ll slap you into next week!” Dragon Brother glared at Xu Shuai’s advancing foot, the veins on his forehead popping.
Calming down, Xu Shuai scratched his head, “It’s like this: Wang Li Juan doesn’t want me to tell you guys, so you three must keep it a secret for me.”
Dragon Brother patted Xu Shuai on the shoulder, “I can tell Wang Li Juan is a decent girl. Treat her well, and stop thinking about all those bizarre things.”
Xu Shuai grinned, “I know my place. I never aimed too high, and Wang Li Juan was the first girl I ever touched fingers with. The fact that she agreed to go out with me feels like a win!”
Huang Fei sat back on the bed, lighting a cigarette with a forlorn expression, “Honestly, I can deal with being single, but my godson can’t beat me to it! Watching you succeed feels worse than dying!”
“But as a brother, I still wish you good luck with your confession.”
“Ah, don’t be sad. I’m not successful either, I’ll stick by you!” Li Long Long promised, slinging an arm around Huang Fei’s shoulders, both equally miserable.
“Ugh, just stop with the mushy stuff.”
Suddenly, the two turned to Dragon Brother, unable to resist asking, “Hey, are you going out?”
“Didn’t see you last weekend at all; are you heading out again?”
“Yeah, got a few things to handle.”
“Ugh—” Huang Fei and Li Long Long looked at Dragon Brother and Xu Shuai, “Busy, huh? Busy’s good!”
As Dragon Brother and Xu Shuai left, only two lonely, longing, weary souls remained in the dorm.
Once outside, Dragon Brother received a message from Li Qing Xue: “Dragon Brother, we’re coming to find you!”
“Don’t come,” Dragon Brother replied.
At A University, Li Qing Xue, tidying up in her dorm, heard her phone ping and quickly glanced over.
But upon reading Dragon Brother’s reply, she froze momentarily, then pouted like she could hang a beer bottle from her lips.
But in the next second, she couldn’t help but beam with joy.
Her momentary disappointment quickly vanished, and the pouty lips that could hold a bottle lifted into a radiant smile, radiating joy.
Based on the location Dragon Brother sent, she navigated quickly and replied, “Take the subway line 15, 5.6 km, no transfers needed, and walk 800 meters after getting off.”
Feeling pleased with herself, she got ready and headed downstairs to meet Hu Yu Ying.
Stepping out of the girls’ dorm, she spotted Hu Yu Ying already sitting in the corridor.
With a simple outfit, she sat quietly, exuding a natural charm and grace that captivated anyone who laid eyes on her.
Hu Yu Ying noticed Li Qing Xue and smiled brightly, “Qing Xue, you look beautiful today!”
“R-really?” Li Qing Xue blushed a little, nervously sweeping her hair back behind her ear. Was it really that noticeable?
Today, Li Qing Xue had traded a bratty playfulness for a more elegant, gentle demeanor.
The gesture of tucking her hair back only added to her initial love-struck allure, giving her an indescribably lovely quality.
