Chapter 195: I Like Him, Like Sunshine Lighting Up My Heart
Before Lin Wan Ning could even figure out what was happening, Dragon Brother strode right into the private room, swinging a copper teapot like he was about to perform a magic trick.
“Drink some water first. The food’s still being prepared.”
Dragon Brother said casually, placing a disposable cup on the table and starting to pour water.
The dark red liquid spilled out, and the little ones immediately sniffed the spicy aroma of ginger.
“Brother, is this red sugar ginger water?” Lin Wan Ning asked curiously.
“Uh-huh. Drink a couple of cups now, or I’ll go burn more later,” Dragon Brother replied, having previously brought along some salespeople and construction supervisors for a meal here, boosting this place’s worker traffic in one fell swoop.
Just borrowing a spot to boil some water was enough to make the owner happy.
“Thanks, Brother Dragon,” Hu Yu Ying grinned, watching Dragon Brother pour her water and feeling warm inside.
“Don’t thank me so much, or I’ll start punching you,” Dragon Brother joked, gently tapping Hu Yu Ying on her head.
What’s there to thank? It’s all just brotherly affection.
Hu Yu Ying rubbed her head where he tapped and giggled playfully, “Got it, Brother Dragon.”
Li Qing Xue silently watched the scene, her gaze locking onto Dragon Brother’s figure like a magnet, her eyes never leaving him—no, never leaving him for a second.
She remembered everything. Even if it was just a simple misunderstanding, she couldn’t forget how he had been so attentive.
Even if it was just that simple mistaken moment, she remembered it so vividly. Her expression flickered as she clenched her small fists tightly.
She really, really wanted to ask Dragon Brother if—if maybe, someday, he’d care for her like this again.
She longed—no, desperately wanted to ask this big j*rk why he was so good to her.
Did he even realize? How could such kindness for a girl… possibly…
“Why are you just staring stupidly? Drink up! Do you think I’ve been too nice? Hahaha…” Li Qing Xue pouted, rolling her eyes, knowing full well that sooner or later she’d be the one to beat this scamp straight.
“Finish eating and then go home first. I have something to do later, so I won’t see you off,” Dragon Brother set down his chopsticks, wiped his mouth, and said casually.
“Mm, got it, Brother Dragon.”
“Study well at school. I’m leaving now.” Without warning, he reached out and gently tousled Hu Yu Ying’s long hair.
Watching Dragon Brother’s back fade into the distance, Li Qing Xue retrieved a tissue from her pocket, “You guys eat first, I’ll step out for a bit.”
Seeing the tissue in Qing Xue’s hand, both little ones didn’t ask any more questions.
Li Qing Xue stepped out of the private room, quickening her pace to catch up with Dragon Brother.
“You…”
Before she could finish her sentence, Li Qing Xue grabbed his hand. “Don’t speak!”
She pulled Dragon Brother into the corridor’s end room.
Once inside, her back was turned to him as she closed the door quietly. Dragon Brother was left a bit bewildered!
She wouldn’t let him speak, yet here she was, her face full of shame.
“Qing Xue, you…”
“Wait a moment, don’t say anything.”
Finished speaking, Li Qing Xue took a deep breath, then quickly spun around and tiptoed to kiss Dragon Brother on the lips.
Her red lips grazed him softly, eyes half-lidded and dreamy as she blinked at him while whispering, “I think I might be crazy.”
“You’re not crazy, you’re playing with me,” Dragon Brother said, stunned.
Li Qing Xue released him, turning her face away to avoid his gaze. “I just heard my roommate say that kissing between boys and girls is some wondrous thing—I wanted to try, but I didn’t know who to try it with. Turns out, it wasn’t as magical as they said.”
Hearing her words, Dragon Brother sighed. “Foolish girl. Why do you believe everything others say?”
Li Qing Xue’s eyes flickered nervously. “I-I also think I’m pretty silly.”
“Can you still guide me like before?”
Looking seriously at Dragon Brother, tears welled up in her eyes. “Help me become sensible again, you big fool.”
“Has something happened?”
Li Qing Xue shook her head. “Bad body, emotional swings are pretty intense. Don’t tell anyone, or I’ll strangle you.”
She playfully pinched his waist.
“Ow~ Easy!”
“Why didn’t you dodge?” Li Qing Xue asked curiously.
Dragon Brother chuckled, flicking her forehead. “Who do you think I’d dodge you for?”
“If you’re not feeling well, tell Brother Dragon. I’m happy to guide you slowly. And also, don’t listen to your roommate’s nonsense—they’re just kids who don’t know anything.”
He tapped her again, watching her grimace, and said with a teasing smile, “You’re so curious about everything. Foolish girl.”
“Next time you dare to tease me again, I’ll punch you!”
……
Back in the private room.
Li Qing Xue sat down again, clutching her red sugar ginger water, taking small sips.
“What did you just do?” Lin Wan Ning asked softly.
Li Qing Xue’s face was still flushed, and without waiting for her to answer, Lin Wan Ning whispered, “I went to the bathroom just now.”
Hearing this, Qing Xue’s heart tightened, and she hesitated on what to say.
Suddenly, Lin Wan Ning chuckled softly. “We can talk more another day.”
Li Qing Xue pursed her lips and nodded slightly.
On the way home.
“Qing Xue, be careful of the cars.”
Faced with Hu Yu Ying’s concern, Li Qing Xue suddenly felt at a loss.
She thought she wasn’t a good best friend, and this emotional tug-of-war made her feel like she was betraying Hu Yu Ying.
This feeling was too painful.
“What’s wrong?” Hu Yu Ying gently held Qing Xue’s hand, noticing her mood wasn’t quite right.

“Nothing.” Li Qing Xue held Hu Yu Ying’s small hand, her inner conflict still gnawing at her, and she finally asked, “Yu Ying, do you like Dragon Brother? Not just as a big brother?”
Caught off guard by the question, Hu Yu Ying was stunned, then looked at Li Qing Xue.
She didn’t know how Qing Xue had figured it out, but her heart told her she needed to be brave now.
So she nodded gently. “Yes, I don’t just see Brother Dragon as my big brother.”
Hearing Hu Yu Ying’s answer, Li Qing Xue suddenly exhaled in relief. “Sorry.”
“No need to say sorry. Because I can’t say it’s okay either,” Hu Yu Ying continued, pulling Qing Xue across the street. “Brother Dragon is great. Many people like him, and I’m just one of them. So, Qing Xue, you really don’t need to apologize.”
She turned and smiled at Qing Xue. “And you said yourself—if someone else also likes Brother Dragon, then it’s only fair competition.”
“Is that really how you think?” Qing Xue looked earnestly at Hu Yu Ying.
Hu Yu Ying nodded honestly. “I care about Brother Dragon, so I care even more if he’s happy.”
“I like him, like sunshine shining in my heart. It’s real. I truly hope Brother Dragon finds happiness because he deserves it.”
“Even if that person isn’t me, at least that sunshine once shone on me too…”
