Chapter 199: No Matter What Dragon Brother Thinks, That’s Our Business
“Oh heavens! Can you hear my desperate plea?”
“Please, I pray sincerely—let me save her! I just can’t bear to see them being deceived.”
“Oh heavens! If you can hear my call, please just give me a sign.”
Hearing the voice, the three little ones blinked in surprise—they found this voice oddly familiar.
They looked up and over to the source of the sound.
There was a guy, turned away from them, madly shaking his head in the sunlight. His wet hair was flying everywhere, water droplets splashing around him like a mini indoor fountain.
Then he turned to face them, hands buried in his damp hair, slowly tilting his head up. As he did, his fingers gently swept his hair back, finally styling a slick back hairstyle worthy of a drama hero.
Seeing this guy’s self-assured face, three pairs of eyes flickered with a mix of disgust and annoyance.
Ye Liang Chen glanced at Hu Yu Ying and the other two and faintly smiled, just a tiny curve at the corners of his mouth.
Immediately, he spread his arms toward the sky: “Oh heavens! Did you finally hear my call?”
As he spoke, his arms slowly wrapped around himself in a pretending-to-be-embracing stance.
“Qing Xue, what a coincidence!”
Having finished, Ye Liang Chen reopened his eyes that were previously closed, revealing a bitter smile on his face. He jogged slightly toward Hu Yu Ying and the others.
While running, he shook his head dramatically, basking in the sunlight with a face full of devotion, like he was on stage, freely enjoying himself—completely oblivious to the world.
“Ye Liang Chen, what are you doing here?” Li Qing Xue asked outright, trembling a bit. She was terrified he was stalking them again—way too terrifying!
If that was the case, she might have to call Uncle Policeman immediately. Even though they’d known each other for years, she couldn’t accept being stalked.
Hearing her, Ye Liang Chen’s eyes filled with sadness. “Qing Xue, how can you think so poorly of me?”
“My school’s nearby, I just wanted to take a bath during the break…”
He sighed bitterly: “And I never expected to run into you guys here. Looks like heaven is truly listening to my earnest prayers.”
He looked at Li Qing Xue, his gaze slowly drifting to Hu Yu Ying, then to Lin Wan Ning.
“I know you’re pretty mad at me right now, but have you ever considered why I know your names?”
He turned to Hu Yu Ying first: “Remember when we first met? Can you still recall my expression back then?”
Then he looked at Lin Wan Ning: “Remember our first encounter? Do you recall why I called out your name during the first two days of your school, even though no one knew me, and I even talked about your childhood?”
At this, the bitterness at the corner of Ye Liang Chen’s mouth deepened, his face sad as if carrying a heavy load of loneliness.
Hu Yu Ying wasn’t exactly keen on the guy who used to stalk and threaten her. But think carefully—Ye Liang Chen had once told stories about his family background in a high school cafeteria after transferring, during a time he constantly behaved like he was very familiar with her…
Compared to Hu Yu Ying, Lin Wan Ning was more straightforward. Sure, shortly after school started, Ye Liang Chen called her by name and mentioned she had lived in the countryside as a kid. But then he tried to touch her leg, so she just left.
Seeing Hu Yu Ying and Li Qing Xue lost in brief thought, Ye Liang Chen’s smile grew more unrestrained.
“Do you remember I said I wanted to save you?”
“This isn’t just talk or some empty rumor—it’s genuinely what I want.”
“But…,” he suddenly looked lonely again, a bitter expression darkening his face, “you’ve all been deceived. You don’t believe in me.”
“Can you give me a chance to explain?”
Tears welled up in Ye Liang Chen’s eyes as he spoke.
The three little ones shook their heads, surprised that he was crying.
Li Qing Xue said, “You said you wanted to save us, but then you made me control my grades, made me repeat the year, forced me to give up the college entrance exam. If that’s what you call ‘saving’ us, then forget it—I like my life as it is now.”
Hu Yu Ying retorted, “You stalked me, threatened me, and kept bad-mouthing Dragon Brother. You always say my life shouldn’t be like this. Honestly, you’re totally wrong—I love my current life. I really don’t need your so-called salvation.”
Lin Wan Ning also chimed in: “Yeah, I don’t think I need someone who just met me to come and save me, especially not someone who just decided I need saving after a single encounter. And I have no idea what you think you’re saving me from.”
The one who should save her— isn’t him. Long Aotian never claimed to be helping her. He said whatever he wanted, careless if others listened.
Thinking about that, Lin Wan Ning’s eyes sparkled with curiosity. She asked with interest, “Can you just answer me directly about one thing?”
Initially, hearing this, Ye Liang Chen clutched his chest, showing a pained expression. But when Lin Wan Ning spoke, his eyes lit up instantly.
He asked, “What?”
“I want to know—what exactly is this ‘salvation’ of yours? Is it a simple salvation, or are you actually after our bodies?”
Ye Liang Chen hesitated: “I… of course, I mean it as simple salvation.”
The three little ones looked at each other, then simultaneously said, “Then listen up. We’re doing fine. We don’t need saving. So, please, don’t come near us again.”

After they finished, the three turned to walk away.
Ye Liang Chen froze in place for a moment, then hurried forward to block their way.
“No, wait—you probably didn’t understand what I was trying to say. I mean, it’s Heaven that arranged for me to save you. Only I can lead you onto the path you want.”
“I know it’s hard to accept, but this is the truth.”
His voice sped up: “I know you’re still fooled by Dragon Brother’s appearance, and maybe you’re biased against me.”
“That’s because you don’t truly know what Dragon Brother is like. He’s evil, and I’m a person with a heart of justice.”
“Everything he’s done is just to toy with you three. Wake up, will ya?”
He looked at Hu Yu Ying: “The reason Dragon Brother treats you well is just to manipulate your kindness, then take advantage of Li Qing Xue and Lin Wan Ning. He’s not a good guy.”
“I told you before—Dragon Brother is a playboy. Once he’s tired of you, he’ll go after someone else. Just look around—Li Qing Xue and Lin Wan Ning. Am I wrong?”
“Can you accept three of you serving Dragon Brother together?”
“Don’t you see? Wake up, please.”
Then with a heartbroken look, he cast a sad gaze at Li Qing Xue and Lin Wan Ning: “Dragon Brother already has Hu Yu Ying, yet he still tries to mess with you. Can’t you see what a scuzzy guy he is?”
“Can’t you tell that Dragon Brother is just plotting with filthy intentions, even though he already has Hu Yu Ying?”
Hearing this, Li Qing Xue and Lin Wan Ning instinctively looked toward Hu Yu Ying.
Her eyes flashed with anger and she coldly told Ye Liang Chen: “That’s our business, not yours. And I won’t let you badmouth Dragon Brother anymore.”
“You don’t understand anything. You just want to impose your disgusting ideas on us. We can sense what kind of person Dragon Brother is—without you telling us.”
“And even if Dragon Brother had some ideas, they’re our business, not yours.”
“Ugh, that hurts!” Ye Liang Chen clutched his chest, staggering back a few steps. His face was incredulous and deeply sad as he looked at Hu Yu Ying—he hadn’t expected her to say something so shameless.
