### Chapter 247: A Pair of Silver Handcuffs
The holiday was over, and everything returned to normal.
College wasn’t nearly as hectic as senior year in high school.
Dragon Brother had plenty of time to attend classes and, during his free periods, check on the progress of his courtyard renovation.
Occasionally, he’d video call Hu Yu Ying to share updates and dream up room designs.
Every time, Hu Yu Ying would light up like a child who’s just found candy.
All because of one little phrase out of Dragon Brother’s mouth: “How should we decorate our place?”
It seemed like everything was heading in a good direction.
After the holiday, the weather also began to cool down a bit.
Back when he was selling clothes, Dragon Brother had met some people at Yidi’s and the factory in Tsdung, thanks to frequent orders; they were now quite chummy. He mentioned his plan to open three online stores, paid some deposits, and ordered a few autumn outfits of different styles.
At A University, Hu Yu Ying and Li Qing Xue were strolling around the girls’ dormitory playground, chatting about those oh-so-special topics only women talk about.
Just then, a video call interrupted their conversation.
Hu Yu Ying pulled out her phone, saw who was calling, and her beautiful eyes squinted into crescent moons: “It’s Dragon Brother.”
She clicked to answer.
Dragon Brother’s voice came through: “Ah Ying, bring that silly girl Qing Xue along; we’re heading home soon.”
Before Hu Yu Ying could say anything, Li Qing Xue piped up, full of sass: “You’re the silly one! Do you want me to step on your foot again?!”
“Ouch, hahahaha, you’re here too! You’re not silly, you’re not silly. Come over soon—I’ve got a surprise for you!”
Hearing “surprise,” well, that was all it took for Li Qing Xue to quickly forgive Dragon Brother, no matter what else.
“Fine, fine, I’ll go take a look!”
“Oh look at that face, all grins like it’s stretching to your ears…”
“Nonsense! Say that again, I dare you!” Li Qing Xue immediately shifted back to defending her pride.
“I’m scared! See you at home in a bit.”
“Okay, Dragon Brother, see you at home!”
“Ouch ouch, is it necessary to be so flirty? You’re making me blush…”
Before he could finish, Hu Yu Ying quickly hung up, raising her hand to tickle Li Qing Xue: “Not blushing at all!”
“Look at your face, you’re practically a tomato now. Not blushing, huh?”
“Yu Ying, you can’t just be shy all the time.”
Hu Yu Ying lightly touched her cheek: “It’s not like that! I only get shy in front of Dragon Brother. I want to control it, but I can’t help it!”
If Dragon Brother had heard that, he would’ve gently tapped her smooth forehead with his fingertip.
Physical attraction is just so domineering, pure, requiring no unnecessary words.
There’s a saying that goes: If you blush, you’ve already won over a whole monologue…

“Brother.”
Just stepping out of the school gate, Lin Wan Ning’s distinctive melodic voice rang out.
There was no other reason; her tone was really unique and had a nice ring to it.
“I came right away after seeing your message!” She trotted over to Dragon Brother, waving her phone in triumph.
In front of him, she really looked like the little sister who needed to rely on him, her icy beauty melting like snow, exquisite with a hint of shy attachment.
“Let’s head back first; Ah Ying and Qing Xue will be here soon.”
He had just received a notification on his phone; the delivery had arrived and was left at the supermarket at the end of the alley.
Dragon Brother loved seeing the surprised expression on Hu Yu Ying’s face. Just thinking about her wide-eyed look made him grin.
Back at the courtyard, Hu Yu Ying and Li Qing Xue hadn’t arrived yet.
“Wan Ning, go back first; I’ll just grab something.”
“Sure,” Lin Wan Ning said, using her keys to open the door.
At the supermarket, he often bought drinks and cigarettes for the workers, so he was pretty familiar with the owner now.
“Hey, I’m here to pick up a delivery.”
“Oh, Xiao Tian, here’s your stuff! Three big bags—what did you buy?”
“Just some clothes.”
He found three large black packages, alongside a smaller one.
Dragon Brother assumed the small one was extra goodies. Upon checking the order, he noticed the phone number belonged to Lin Wan Ning.
So, he took everything back home.
Once he put the items in the yard, Lin Wan Ning looked at the three large bags, utterly baffled: “Dragon Brother, what on earth did you buy?”
Seeing her surprised little face, Dragon Brother felt a wave of satisfaction: “You’ll find out soon.”
With a playful giggle, Lin Wan Ning said, “I’m going to check if Yu Ying and Qing Xue are here.”
After she left, Dragon Brother began opening the packages.
The three big bags were tailored for Hu Yu Ying, Li Qing Xue, and Lin Wan Ning’s unique fashion styles.
In the previous world, Dragon Brother had seen plenty of chic fashion combinations, and let’s just say his aesthetic was ahead of the curve for this era.
As he tore into the packages, he casually dismantled Lin Wan Ning’s too.
Outside, Lin Wan Ning had been thinking about calling Qing Xue to see where they were.
As she pulled out her phone, she saw the notification.
It showed the package had already been collected, with the message arriving just a few minutes prior.
Lin Wan Ning dashed back to the courtyard, imagining the scene of her brother surrounded by packages piled high!
Her typically elegant face showed signs of panic, and she quickly sprinted to the yard.

There she found her brother deep in thought, staring at a pair of silver handcuffs in the sunlight.
The sun reflected off the silver cuffs, casting dazzling sparkles, making them look exquisitely beautiful…
Lin Wan Ning’s heart raced, and she forced herself to appear calm as she stepped forward and snatched the silver handcuffs from Dragon Brother’s hands, hiding them behind her back.
“Brother, how could you open my package?”
Dragon Brother frowned, asking, “What do you need this for?”
Seeing her brother frown, Lin Wan Ning instinctively reached out to smooth his brows, softly explaining, “Our academy is preparing for a gala, and I’m playing a police officer. These are my props.”
“Oh.” Dragon Brother relaxed, his frown disappearing, replaced by a smile: “I’ll come cheer you on then.”
“Great!” Lin Wan Ning beamed, relieved that her brother was so easy to convince.
“By the way, what’s in that black bag?” she asked, trying to divert his attention while secretly hiding the handcuffs away.
Just then, the front door creaked open.
“Dragon Brother, where’s my surprise?” It was Qing Xue’s voice.
“Dragon Brother!” She trotted up, looking adorable standing in front of him, her eyes shining bright like twinkling stars.
Dragon Brother gently squeezed her cheek: “This is your surprise.”
“This is clothing?”
“Thirty pieces each!”
At those words, the expressions of the three little ladies displayed utter shock, fulfilling Dragon Brother’s mischievous fantasy.
Lin Wan Ning had figured out it was clothes, but thirty pieces each still left her reasonably flabbergasted…
