### Chapter 260: What on Earth, It’s You Again!
Before long, hurried footsteps echoed from behind.
Dragon Brother turned around for a quick glance, then waved his hand at the figures rushing over.
The first to arrive was Huang Fei.

Just a moment ago, she was all humble and seeking advice, and now she’s throwing around eye-rolls like they’re confetti.
Han Xiao Jing first glanced at Dragon Brother in gratitude, then hurried to Shen Meng Jie’s side, looking a bit hurt and accusatory: “How come you’ve been ignoring my calls?”
Shen Meng Jie swayed slightly to stand up: “Sorry, I wasn’t feeling too fab today, just wanted to sneak away for a bit—didn’t mean to worry you all.”
Han Xiao Jing and the newly arrived Wang Li Juan and Zhang Meng Meng quickly rushed over to support her.
All three exchanged knowing glances. They were well aware of the real reason for her being down in the dumps.
“Thanks.” As Han Xiao Jing passed Dragon Brother, she mustered up the courage to speak up.
Dragon Brother waved his hand and chuckled: “Just happened to run into you all.”
As he spoke, a strong whiff of alcohol, mixed with his warm breath, wafted over to her face, and suddenly, Han Xiao Jing felt her cheeks igniting. She lowered her head, avoiding Dragon Brother’s gaze.
Meanwhile, Huang Fei stared at a tipsy Shen Meng Jie. Usually, her captivating eyes sparkled with intelligence; now, they were glazed over from the booze, and her fair complexion had taken on a rosy hue he’d never seen before. This was a new side of Shen Meng Jie!
In the past, she’d always been so confident, fiery, and beautiful, but now she resembled a wilting rose…
Actually, when Huang Fei came across those comments and screenshots on the school forum, he felt a bit rattled.
But now, seeing Shen Meng Jie in this state, for some reason, his previously softened heart instinctively wanted to protect her, and he grew resolute again.

“Juan, take it easy on the way back,” Xu Shuai said, glancing at Dragon Brother and then at Wang Li Juan and the others, instructing them softly.
“Got it! You all should head back earlier too.”
“Sure, I’ll text you when I get back.”
Once the four left,
Huang Fei and Xu Shuai moved closer to Dragon Brother and asked softly,
“Don’t ask just yet.”
Dragon Brother handed Huang Fei a beer from his pocket and wandered off to the side, taking advantage of the night to relieve himself: “If you’d come any later, my bladder would’ve exploded!”
After finishing up, Dragon Brother felt like a weight had been lifted.
Before Huang Fei could inquire further, Dragon Brother began to explain what had happened bit by bit.
“I was almost at the dormitory when I overheard some people talking. Putting Shen Meng Jie’s words together, I thought she believed I was behind it, so I rushed over here…”

Dragon Brother looked at Huang Fei seriously: “Liking a girl like Shen Meng Jie isn’t going to be easy.”
While he had no clue about her past, he could tell from their earlier chat that her current attitude had a lot to do with her family background.
From the last incident and this one, it was clear that Huang Fei genuinely cared for Shen Meng Jie, and one could leave it at that without needing to say more.
Huang Fei stared at the beer can in his hand, paused for a moment in silence, then popped it open: “I know, I know everything, but I just can’t control myself…”
“When I saw those things on the school forum and couldn’t find Shen Meng Jie, I kept thinking, ‘Once I find her, can I stop liking her?’…”
“But when I finally found her and saw her drunken face full of sadness, my heart kept telling me, ‘You need to protect her! Don’t let her get hurt again!’”
As he said this, Huang Fei took a huge gulp of beer and then bitterly laughed: “What a shame, here I am, calling myself the top of the Love Four Kings, and I’m still the biggest fool around!”
Dragon Brother and Xu Shuai patted him on the shoulder.

“Where’s Li Long Long?” Dragon Brother changed the subject; the current topic felt way too heavy.
Xu Shuai followed up: “That guy’s been getting cozy with a senior lately; he’s out watching a movie today.”
Dragon Brother frowned slightly.
Xu Shuai twisted his head in annoyance and smacked his own mouth.
Both of them coughed awkwardly and glanced at Huang Fei.
Only to find Huang Fei looking like he was about to burst into tears or laughter as he downed all the beer in the can.
“Hey, A Fei, let’s head back,” Dragon Brother suggested.
“Yeah, it’s getting chilly; the evening breeze is no joke!”
Just a short while after returning to the dormitory,
Li Long Long burst in with his phone, looking in a hurry.
He glanced at Huang Fei, who was sitting on the bed smoking, and then at Xu Shuai and Dragon Brother.
With a dry swallow, he could tell that today’s atmosphere in the dorm was a little off, even for him, who usually acted without a brain.
What he was about to say got swallowed back down.
Moving beside Dragon Brother and Xu Shuai, he quietly asked, “What’s going on?”
“Nothing much for now,” Xu Shuai answered quietly. “Old Huang’s feeling a bit rough today; let’s not talk about it.”
Li Long Long nodded silently as he unlocked his phone.
“What are you doing? We’re not gaming today,” Dragon Brother remarked.
“Just checking if there are any decent single senior girls around…”
“You really are quite the thinker!” Dragon Brother couldn’t help but give him a thumbs up.
“It’s only right… without readers like you who are so perceptive, I wouldn’t have the energy to stay up all night for nothing!”
