Chapter 285: I’ve Found Someone I Need to Care for Forever
“Slag, slag, slag, Old Ao, you’re not right, slag…”
The first to notice that Dragon Brother wasn’t quite himself was Xu Shuai.
A string of “slags,” each more dramatic than the last, clearly indicated he’d uncovered something truly shocking.
His exaggerated reactions made Huang Fei and Li Long Long also turn their attention to Dragon Brother, who had just returned to the dorm.
But neither of them immediately caught on where exactly he was acting strange.
Dragon Brother chuckled as he looked at Xu Shuai: “What’s wrong with me?”
As soon as that came out, Huang Fei and Li Long Long also gazed at Xu Shuai, wanting to hear him explain just what was so off about Old Ao.
“You look exhausted!”
That line instantly quieted the entire dorm.
Seeing Xu Shuai’s stunned expression, it was obvious he hadn’t guessed incorrectly.
“What’s going on?” Huang Fei probed, giving Dragon Brother a gentle punch on the shoulder.
It was a solid punch—no different from usual, maybe even feeling a bit sturdier.
“It’s different, really different,” Xu Shuai affirmed confidently.
“Wow, just tell us already, what’s different?” Li Long Long couldn’t handle the cryptic hints anymore.
Before speaking, Xu Shuai sniffed the air: “First of all, Old Ao’s scent has changed—didn’t you guys notice?”
Hearing this, Huang Fei and Li Long Long sniffed the air around Dragon Brother, then suddenly their eyes lit up—the smell was indeed different.
It was a faint fragrance, not so heavy as perfume, but more pleasant.
A scent like shampoo, but mixed with a refreshing aroma they couldn’t quite name.
Seeing their reactions, Xu Shuai grinned with pride and continued: “Second, don’t you guys feel that today Old Ao has a faint sense of fatigue?”
“Like he’s been drained of a lot of essence and spirit in an instant. Think about how Old Ao usually looks?”
Xu Shuai’s tone was full of confidence because, not long ago, after actually dating Wang Li Juan, he had experienced the same state.
Having a woman or not—it made a real difference.
That’s why Xu Shuai was quick to notice.
Old Ao used to come back late, but always with a full expression, walking with precision, looking sharp.
But today, his eyes held a hint of joy mixed with tiredness, and his steps weren’t as crisp.
All these clues pointed to one thing—Old Ao had definitely stayed up late these past two days.
And only prolonged close contact could have caused that faint, lingering scent on him.
Staying up late, intimate contact—if there was nothing going on, Xu Shuai wouldn’t believe it for a second.
“Well, I have to say, I’ve also got someone I need to care for forever now,” Dragon Brother suddenly said, calmly.
Why hide such a thing?
Is Little Girl ashamed of showing herself?
Of course not. So why not just admit it openly?
‘Caring for someone forever’—such words carry a heavy weight.
But when Dragon Brother says it, it sounds so convincing.
Nothing fancy, just because Dragon Brother himself is incredibly reliable.
For a moment, Huang Fei and the others also became curious about what the “Little Girl” in Old Ao’s words actually looked like.
They’d guessed before, but Dragon Brother’s answer was always “Little Girl.”
“Show us the photos—let’s recognize your sister-in-law.”
“Want to see?” Dragon Brother paused dramatically.
“Yeah yeah, we really want to know who’s got Old Ao saying he’d care for her forever.”
“Let’s hear you call her ‘Godfather’ first.”
“Whoa, our dorm 147 has never played around—Old Ao, if you say that, you’re not treating us like brothers at all. ‘Godfather’? Show us already.”
Seeing how straightforward they were, Dragon Brother didn’t keep them waiting: “Alright.”
He walked over to his bed, dug into his backpack, and pulled out a couple of photos he’d taken of Little Girl during a trip to A University.
Ever since he got them back, Dragon Brother had kept them very carefully.
He took out two pictures.
One was of him and Little Girl with their backs turned and fingers intertwined.
The other was of them both turning to look behind them, faces showing.
As soon as they saw the photos, Huang Fei slapped his thigh: “Slag, I guessed right! I knew it was this girl—her eyes when she looked at Old Ao were so tender.”
“I thought at the time, if some girl’s eyes are all about me, I’d be crazy to chase her.”
“Careful—you better not crease my photo,” Dragon Brother warned.
He kept his photos in pristine condition—no way was he letting these guys get excited and bulge the corners.
“Got it, got it. Just one photo got you so nervous,” Li Long Long teased.
That was the very first photo—his and Little Girl’s first shot together, holding hands. It was extremely precious in Dragon Brother’s heart.
He was usually generous about these things, but in this matter, Dragon Brother was quite possessive.
Before they could continue staring, he snatched the photos back himself: “You’ve looked long enough.”
“That’s not enough—you just took them out and you say that?” Li Long Long protested.
“Come on, we’re heading to the class soon. If we don’t find seats early, we’ll be sitting right under your nose,” Dragon Brother said as he packed up, shifting the conversation away from his photos toward the classroom—trying to appear nonchalant.
At the classroom door.
Shen Meng Jie chewed gum, leaning against the railing.
Her gaze crossed Huang Fei and the others, settling on Dragon Brother.
She stretched out, casually blowing a bubble, and asked nonchalantly: “Oh, look who’s back from the busy world…”
