Chapter 286: Turns Out You Boys Are All the Same
Looking at Dragon Brother, Shen Meng Jie felt a twinge of discomfort rising within her.
Ever since Hu Yu Ying and the others came to find Dragon Brother, Shen Meng Jie had kept an eye on him.
After some subtle snooping, she learned that Dragon Brother hadn’t returned to the dorm over the weekend, and for reasons she couldn’t quite place, it made her feel quite annoyed.
So when she finally saw him, she couldn’t help but poke fun at him.
“Meng Jie,” Huang Fei came up to Shen Meng Jie’s side, immediately picking up on the teasing tone in her voice and casting an apologetic glance at Dragon Brother.
Just as Shen Meng Jie said, she really could be a bit petty…
And it felt a bit unfair to Old Ao.
“Meng Jie, Old Ao spent the weekend with his girlfriend. You should give him a break,” Huang Fei whispered, trying to explain to her.
Upon hearing this, Shen Meng Jie looked at Dragon Brother with a cold huff and rolled her eyes before marching into the classroom.
“What’s up with that?” Dragon Brother was as puzzled as ever about what Shen Meng Jie was on about.
“Old Ao, Meng Jie has a bit of a temper. I hope, as brothers, you can tolerate her a little,” Huang Fei shrugged, not really knowing what else to say.
True, Shen Meng Jie hadn’t outright accepted his pursuit for a year, but at least she seemed to be thinking it over.
Like they say, feelings don’t follow logic. He knew this wasn’t fair to Old Ao, but he planned to clear up any misunderstanding between them.
Dragon Brother clapped Huang Fei on the shoulder. “Don’t worry about it. I really didn’t take it to heart.”
There was no relationship between him and Shen Meng Jie; how he viewed her had no effect on her view of him.
Honestly, he could tell Shen Meng Jie was more prideful than most, probably due to her upbringing, so he truly didn’t mind it—there were better things to think about, like how to sneakily take advantage of Little Girl while making her happy in the process.
These last two nights, having just dived into the meaty stuff, he initially managed to restrain himself for a bit. But once Little Girl started glistening and her cheeks turned a rosy red, seeing her charms bursting out like that drove him wild…
He hadn’t really paid enough attention to Little Girl’s feelings.
That was a shortcoming for him as a boyfriend.
Plus, he needed to plan a proper confession for Little Girl to make it up to her.
After all, he clumsily took advantage of her without any word from her, but he had to give something back.
Thinking this, Dragon Brother amusingly glanced at the still guilt-ridden Huang Fei and said, “Relax, I’m not that petty.”
Once they reached the classroom and found their seats, Huang Fei eagerly dashed over to the seat next to Shen Meng Jie.
While the things circulating on the campus forum had been deleted, it couldn’t be denied they still impacted Shen Meng Jie quite a bit.
“Honestly, I think Shen Meng Jie might be overreacting,” Li Long Long said, watching Huang Fei’s back with a sigh. “Let’s say, worst-case scenario, Old Ao has helped her, and she’s still like this…”
“Yeah, we’re buddies after all, so today I’m definitely going to roast Shen Meng Jie a bit,” Xu Shuai chimed in.
Dragon Brother chuckled at Xu Shuai. “Good luck! Aren’t you afraid Wang Li Juan will knock you upside the head?”
Hearing this, Xu Shuai straightened up and argued earnestly, “What’s different about that? For my brothers, I’d take a kn*fe for them!”
“You’d take a kn*fe for who? Yourself or your brother? Let’s clarify this first.”
A little joke hit just the right spot.
Thanks to Dragon Brother, Xu Shuai had gotten plenty of emotional support and motivation from being with Wang Li Juan.
Xu Shuai still wanted to stand by Dragon Brother’s side.
Meanwhile, Huang Fei found his spot next to Shen Meng Jie.
There might’ve been an empty seat in between them, but that didn’t stop them from chatting.
Seeing Shen Meng Jie resting her cheek on her hand and chewing gum absentmindedly, Huang Fei hesitated for a moment before saying softly, “Meng Jie, honestly, Old Ao’s a pretty great guy…”
Before he could finish, Shen Meng Jie cut in, “I know.”
This left Huang Fei momentarily speechless, unsure of what to say next.
He had intended to mention some of Old Ao’s good qualities to reduce Shen Meng Jie’s bias against him.
But her abrupt “I know Dragon Brother’s great” completely derailed Huang Fei’s train of thought.
“He’s great, but I’m a bit petty,” Shen Meng Jie chuckled softly, and if one listened closely, they could detect a tinge of self-deprecation in her teasing.
However, Huang Fei was too caught up in Shen Meng Jie’s charming smile to notice. He instinctively said, “When we have some time, we should hang out. Old Ao is my brother; I really want to smooth things over…”
Shen Meng Jie glanced up at Huang Fei, a hint of amusement glimmering in her eyes. “Sure.”
“Wait, so you agree?”
“Mm-hmm.” Shen Meng Jie nodded, “Why not?”
“Awesome!” Huang Fei secretly pumped his fist. On one side was his brother, and on the other was the girl he liked; he was torn in the middle, which wasn’t easy!
Especially since his brother’s worries created a rift between him and the girl he’d like!
Now that there was a chance to smooth things over, he was all in!
“Did you just say that Dragon Brother didn’t return to the dorm for two days because he was staying with his girlfriend?”
Shen Meng Jie asked casually, curiosity laced with a hint of gossip.
“Ah, this whole thing was actually discovered first by Xu Shuai,” Huang Fei said.
“Xu Shuai?” Shen Meng Jie was surprised.
She knew Xu Shuai, and to put it bluntly, she could easily run circles around him.
Who would’ve thought he would have such skills?
“Surprised?” Huang Fei couldn’t help but feel delighted seeing Shen Meng Jie’s surprised expression and how willing she was to talk with him.
After all, shared topics could lead to greater opportunities.
He immediately began recounting how Xu Shuai had noticed Dragon Brother’s strange behavior.
When Huang Fei got to the part where Dragon Brother nearly collapsed, he couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
Meanwhile, he completely missed the fact that Shen Meng Jie’s expression was darkening.
Casting a glance over her shoulder at the oblivious Dragon Brother, she scoffed, “Sure enough, you men are all the same—lecherous, shameless big pigs…”
With that, she ignored Huang Fei.
This left Huang Fei dumbfounded. What just happened? They were fine just a minute ago!
Plus, Dragon Brother was with his girlfriend—what did that have to do with him? He was just a pure, top-quality virgin!
Even now, Huang Fei still felt like he’d been hit by a completely random disaster…
