Chapter 287: Her Gentle Touch Made Me Greedy
“You guys, men are just like magnets for pretty women.”
“I’m not, I swear! Wait, Meng Jie—wait for me!”
After class, Shen Meng Jie did a classic ‘no look back, stride out’ move.
Huang Fei called out helplessly, shaking his head.
“Did you mess with her again?” Li Long Long teased with a grin.
“That woman’s heart is like a sea mine—gotta get used to it,” Xu Shuai patted his shoulder comfortingly.
This kind of thing happens all the time—been on him and Wang Li Juan too.
Huang Fei sighed. Who said otherwise? Things were fine before…
But he still hadn’t forgotten the promise he made to Shen Meng Jie. He turned to Long Brother with a proposal: “Next time we have free time, let’s all hang out.”
“I’m in,” said Ye Liang Chen, glancing at Shen Meng Jie’s disappearing figure. “Meng Jie’s got a lot going on inside her heart. We gotta learn to understand her slowly—chasing blindly won’t work.”
“You’re way too goal-oriented. Maybe start with friendship first,” Ye Liang Chen added.
Shen Meng Jie’s not that kind of girl who’s clueless—she sees through people easily, especially men’s little games…
But hey, remember when she came to the dorms on Friday looking for Huang Fei? That’s probably a good start…
“Hmm, I totally agree with Old Brother,” Xu Shuai nodded vigorously.
He and Wang Li Juan also started out just trying to make friends. Once they found some common ground, things developed naturally.
As for Huang Fei and Li Long Long—just as Old Brother said, their intentions were way too strong from the start.
No wonder—they’re both pretty capable. Huang Fei’s rich, a classic little rich kid with real capital.
Li Long Long’s handsome, and taller than Old Brother—those are his advantages.
But in the end, Li Long Long hadn’t even started chasing Han Xiao Jing before giving up. Not exactly a win.
Huang Fei admitted honestly, it wasn’t a total loss, but it wasn’t great either.
“I know, I’ve been changing lately,” Huang Fei lamented. “Meng Jie actually does talk more to me now, but sometimes… it’s just… inexplicable. Can you guys understand what I mean?”
Huang Fei was annoyed at himself—sometimes, things seemed fine, yet there was always some vague barrier between them.
“Old Brother already told you—pursuing girls like Meng Jie is exhausting. You didn’t listen…” Li Long Long pulled out his phone. “See? Even my senior cares. She asked if I’d finished class, checking in on me.”
“So, what do you do for dates? What’s the routine?” Old Brother suddenly looked at Xu Shuai and Li Long Long.
They both froze, then burst out laughing.
“Oh wow, what could possibly make Old Brother hard to handle?” They joked, but shared their experiences based on real stuff.
“I took my senior to the movies first. Once my family gave me allowance, I cleaned myself up, took her out for a fancy meal, then shopped around to see if we clicked.”
“Same here,” Xu Shuai nodded. “Remember when I took Wang Li Juan out? We saw a movie, ate dinner, shopped, bought bubble tea, then took a walk in the park to confess.”
Xu Shuai’s face was pure joy when describing this. To him, it was the most romantic thing he’d ever done.
“So cheesy,” Old Brother shook his head. Dinner, shopping, movies—these have become clichés. He wasn’t satisfied with just those for his Little Girl.
He’d done all that before, back in high school, with her. All the romantic “couple stuff” he knew.
“Don’t worry, Old Brother, I’m a bit clumsy practically, but my theory is perfect. I’ll think of the most romantic confession ever,” Huang Fei declared.
He’d fantasized about how she’d feel once he actually had a girlfriend. Now that he did, he was determined to make her feel special.
Old Brother didn’t refuse. The more minds, the more ideas—nothing’s impossible, only unfinished. He wanted his plan to be perfect.
In his heart, he believed that Little Girl was worth everything best—nothing else mattered, because she was just that worth it.
He shook his head quickly, NOT daring to think bad about her—just thinking about her made his heart race. He wanted to see her immediately, hold her, smell her sweet scent.
Otherwise, he’d feel so anxious—this strange feeling, like missing a part of himself.
Her gentle touch made him greedy…
…
Meanwhile, at T University’s gate.
Xue Shao Hua crossed his arms, eyes closed, deep breath in and out.
Today, the moment he saw Hu Yu Ying, he noticed her change.
Once, she was innocent and pure. Today, she radiated seduction—soft and enchanting. No doubt, she had been ‘treated’—probably by someone who enjoyed spoiling her.
His mood was a bit sour and repressive; if it weren’t for Ye Liang Chen, maybe he could just listen quietly and stay out of it.
He let out a breath, suppressing the annoyance inside. Then he confidently flipped his hair and deliberately showed off his earring on his left ear.
With that earring, he finally outspiked Ye Liang Chen in style. More importantly, he drew Shen Meng Jie’s attention.
Tonight, he came to T University to try his luck. Maybe he’d run into Shen Meng Jie and have some meaningful chat.
He planned to vent some frustration to Shen Meng Jie, hoping to earn her admiration.
After all, he was the first to catch her eye…
“What are you doing here?” he asked, eyes narrowing.
Suddenly, his gaze froze.
Because he saw Ye Liang Chen’s earrings—both ears pierced.
“Are you copying me?” Shao Hua asked sharply.
“Copy you? Haha, I’ve wanted to get earrings ages ago. Just beat you to it!” Ye Liang Chen confidently swung his hair. “Honestly, do I even need to copy you?”
He approached Shao Hua, hands in pockets, face-to-face, then sneered: “All your style is just like mine. Do I say anything about that?”
“And one more thing—remember, Shen Meng Jie is my crucial chess piece to beat Dragon Brother. She’s not someone you can just brush aside…”
