“Dragon Brother, when do you think you’ll finish the renovation?” Li Qing Xue couldn’t wait to ask.
Dragon Brother promised her that once the renovations are done, he’d leave a room just for himself.

“Brother, what are these two pits for?” Lin Wan Ning looked at the large dug holes and asked curiously.

“They’re for planting trees,” Hu Yu Ying explained. “Fruit trees.”
“Once they grow, we can eat the fruit ourselves. Grocery stores outside charge a fortune,” she added.
Just the day before, Hu Yu Ying and Dragon Brother went to the market. Little Girl wanted some fruit.
The prices at the market totally scared her.
Of course, Dragon Brother bought her some. She grumbled about the cost, but when she took a bite, her smile was so sweet and lovely.

“Should I add some water?” Li Qing Xue’s question snapped Hu Yu Ying back to reality.
“Yeah.”
“Add in some frozen chicken pieces, simmer on low heat for half an hour, until the chicken falls off the bone. Then turn up the heat to reduce the sauce; that way, the sauce clings perfectly to the chicken…” Hu Yu Ying explained.
Under her guidance, Li Qing Xue and Lin Wan Ning carefully followed the steps.
They both wanted to learn cooking, but lacking tools, today they latched onto Hu Yu Ying and begged her to teach.
“Cooking really isn’t that hard, huh?” Hu Yu Ying softly smiled as she watched them.
“Anyway, making your own food gives a sense of satisfaction,” she added.
Lin Wan Ning sniffed the aroma, her face full of content. It made you want to pinch her delicate little face.
“After dinner, want to go out for a walk?”
Li Qing Xue stood up, stretched, “We haven’t showered together in a while. Let’s do it after dinner?”
“Sure,” Hu Yu Ying nodded. “There’s a bathhouse nearby. I’ve been there once. After eating, I’ll take you.”
Living here these days, they felt too embarrassed to wash properly.
The three little ones couldn’t stop chatting, and soon half an hour slipped by.
Opening the lid, the water that was once plain ingredients had become thick, fragrant broth.

“You clumsy little thing, go back and get it. We’ll wait for you at the alley,” Li Qing Xue teased.
“I’ll give you the key. I locked the big door,” Hu Yu Ying said, pulling out her keys and handing them over.
“No need. I’ve got the key in my pocket—I didn’t forget. I’ll be right back. Wait for me at the alley,” Lin Wan Ning said, jogging toward the courtyard.
“Come on, you slowpoke! We won’t wait for you,” they called after her.
Turning to Hu Yu Ying, Li Qing Xue grinned, “Let’s wait at the alley. I’ll buy you some soda.”
“No, Dragon Brother said no soda during Auntie’s period,” Hu Yu Ying replied.
“It’s okay, I won’t tell him. Drinking soda is fine—I’ve been drinking it during Auntie’s days since forever. Dragon Brother wouldn’t even know,” she said confidently.
