Chapter 335: He Doesn’t Care How I Like It
<divclass="tt-title">“Wait, I got a ‘I’m-Too-Shy’ set here.”</divclass="tt-title">“No, I totally don’t want that!”
Gotta admit, Lin Wan Ning really knows her tricks—especially that wild front split ride-on-shoulder move, as if just to prove she’s got the endurance of a champion.
It wasn’t until evening that Dragon Brother finally emerged from the room.
Heading toward the Pedestrian Street.
Whether it’s T University students or music conservatory folks, by the end of their classes, everyone heads here: some lovebirds, some just out for a meal and shopping, and others just wandering aimlessly.
“Don’t come any closer, it’s just the three of us out for a stroll,” Wang Li Juan hung up her phone, looking pretty happy but still pretending she’s exhausted in front of Shen Meng Jie and Han Xiao Jing.
“Just cut it, you. Look at that smile on your face—it’s practically shouting ‘Mommy’s so happy!’” Shen Meng Jie teased with a laugh.
Han Xiao Jing, true to her name, just silently watched the two banter, calm and composed.
When it comes to looks, Han Xiao Jing and Shen Meng Jie could totally blow Wang Li Juan out of the water—no exaggeration.
But Wang Li Juan was the first to get a boyfriend, and that guy really cared about her.
Girl’s eyes are just too astute when it comes to men.
“Sometimes, it’s not about how good looking the other person is. If you’re having fun during the time you spend with them, half the battle’s won. You’re just too picky,” Shen Meng Jie said dismissively.
“No way,” Han Xiao Jing retorted, “I’m really not that picky.”
Just that the first person who caught her interest now has a girlfriend. It’s the silent thought she kept to herself.
“Is it that you just don’t like the classmates?” Shen Meng Jie leaned on Han Xiao Jing’s shoulder and teased again.
Knowing Shen Meng Jie was joking at her expense, Han Xiao Jing rolled her eyes: “If I had even half the green-tea girl charm, I’d be single too!”
Making fun of herself, she turned the teasing back at Meng Jie.
“Bad girls are hard to handle,” Shen Meng Jie shrugged off the teasing easily, retorting with her own banter.
Faced with Shen Meng Jie’s words, Han Xiao Jing could only helplessly accept she lost.
The three kept chatting and joking, catching the attention of a few college dudes.
Some even boldly approached them, trying to be their penguins.
They all giggled, then hurriedly walked away.
“Hey, should we buy some milk tea and head back?” Wang Li Juan suggested.
Everyone nodded: “Sure.”
Then their eyes shifted to Shen Meng Jie, who was staring blankly ahead. Curious, they asked, “What are you looking at?”
Startled out of her trance, Shen Meng Jie said, “Nothing…”
“Just saying, let’s go get some milk tea and then head back, okay?”
After a brief hesitation, Shen Meng Jie said, “You all go ahead. I’ve got something to take care of. I’ll catch up later.”
With that, she headed off to the right, turned back halfway to remind them, “Go home early and take it slow.”
Wang Li Juan and Han Xiao Jing watched her figure disappear, exchanged glances, then headed towards the milk tea shop.
……
Lin Wan Ning had successfully wasted her entire afternoon again.
Dragon Brother watched her antics, unable to help but crack a bitter smile.
Clumsy, playful, and obsessed with playing around—he reasoned that she did all this so he’d never forget her, because only she could give him such memories.
Seeing this silly woman, Dragon Brother ruffled her hair and then went behind her to tease her again before heading out to buy some food, which he planned to pack and bring back for her.
Seeing him walk into the hotel, Shen Meng Jie’s eyes flickered with suspicion.
She’d just caught a glimpse of his silhouette and felt it was familiar. Following him, she confirmed her guess. When he pushed open the hotel’s glass door, that side profile told Shen Meng Jie—it was Dragon Brother.
Back in the room, watching Wan Ning still lazing on the bed, panicked and tossing around stubbornly refusing to get up, Dragon Brother gave her a gentle smack on her b*tt.
Wan Ning yelped, clutching her behind, giving him a resentful look: “Bad boy! I’ve been so sweet today trying to please you, and you… you still hit my b*tt.”
Thinking back to how she did that full split, her shoulders on his, she sighed and took a deep breath: “First, get dressed and eat something.”
Sitting on the bench, he looked at the marks she left on her thigh and reached out: “Leg.”
Wan Ning obediently lifted her leg onto his hand: “Play all you want, I swear you won’t get bored of this leg for a whole year.”
Dragon Brother exhaled deeply: “Can’t you be a little more reserved?”
“We’re already like this, plus you just had your fun. Why hold back?”
As she wiped the marks off her leg, she said softly, “Wan Ning, don’t you feel this is a kind of irresponsibility to you?”
“Nope,” Wan Ning carefully fed him food with her chopsticks, then passed it to his mouth, “Brother, don’t overthink. I’ve never been a burden to you.”
“The person I trust, even if I spend my whole life in secret, I wouldn’t regret it. So, big bro, don’t think too much. The happiness in the moment is what matters.”
Suddenly, she looked at Dragon Brother with a smile, “Isn’t my stubbornness kind of… charming?”
She fed him another piece of food: “If I’m really a burden or a drag, I wouldn’t mind at all—if one day that day comes, I’ll just let you go.”
“But not now, never…”
Her tone was sincere, mixed with a hint of pleading.
Hearing this, Dragon Brother forced a bitter smile and covered his face: “I’m really a trash man.”
Ever since Wan Ning offered her honest heart, both her hands open, right in front of him, Dragon Brother understood he’d gained another tie—a connection he didn’t want to admit but one that seemed to stir genuine feelings for her.
“Big brother’s not a bad guy, Wan Ning’s just a troublemaker.”
She’s willing to shoulder all the bad parts, because her big bro is so good. The only flaw—she’s too soft-hearted.
But it’s okay, Wan Ning promised she’d protect him.
“It’s already late. I’ll take you back,” she said, eyeing the sky through the window. It’s gotten cold, and the night is especially long now.
It’s only a little past seven—the sky darkened completely. She nodded: “Okay.”
She tidied up her makeshift bed, looking at the ripped silk strips—best to buy more later. This was the third strip he tore up; he seems to really enjoy tearing silk. Does it feel that good? Maybe she doesn’t quite get it, but if he likes it, she’s fine with it…
“Ugh~ It’s so cold outside. I’ll need to wear warm clothes at night from now on.”
Finishing, she looked at Dragon Brother. “Brother, I want some fruit tea. Buy me one, okay?”
“Sure.”
