Chapter 347: I’m Not Forgiving You
As soon as she blurted out the words “big sister,” Lin Wan Ning lifted her gaze and looked at Hu Yu Ying.
Within a split second, her emotional breakdown hit full force, and she couldn’t hold it in anymore. She threw herself into Hu Yu Ying’s arms and started crying her eyes out.
Hu Yu Ying didn’t stop her; she simply let Lin Wan Ning sob into her embrace.
Her eyes, however, drifted outside through the window, watching the yard.
She didn’t comfort Lin Wan Ning, just waited until the tears subsided, then gently took her by the hand and led her out of the room.
Outside the room, Dragon Brother (which, by the way, sounds way cooler in Chinese) crouched on the ground. When he saw the two come out, he immediately stood up and strode over.
Lin Wan Ning’s face was plastered with fresh tear stains, and Hu Yu Ying’s eyes were rimmed red.
“Ah Ying.”
“Don’t come over for now.”
That one sentence made Dragon Brother halt.
“So, what do you plan to do now?”
“Lin Wan Ning’s body is already yours. What’s your next move?”
Lin Wan Ning didn’t want to mess things up further between them, so she sniffed and said softly, “I don’t care.” Everything was her choice from the start — she had no intentions of making anyone responsible for her.
“I didn’t ask if you’re my sister or if I’m yours.”
The first time Lin Wan Ning saw Hu Yu Ying fierce, she was instantly afraid to speak again.
Hu Yu Ying, usually gentle and kind, suddenly turned serious, her aura suddenly towering and oppressive.
“A girl risking everything, giving you her innocence, without asking for anything in return. What are you planning to do?” That was Hu Yu Ying giving Dragon Brother his last chance. Her tone was sharp, and she meant business.
“I said I want to marry you and bring you home as my wife,” Dragon Brother finally turned his gaze from Lin Wan Ning to Hu Yu Ying.
Honestly, Lin Wan Ning didn’t have much opinion about that answer. If she hadn’t barged in herself, it probably would’ve ended up like this anyway.
And besides, her brother took all the blame that should’ve belonged to him — wasn’t that a kind of protection for herself?
She was content. Truly content. At least she was willingly happy, and she left a spot in her brother’s heart…
When Hu Yu Ying heard his answer, her already reddened eyes shimmered with more moisture, but she still bit her lip and said, “If you marry me, you have to listen to me from now on.”
“And now, I’m setting a rule — you’re my man, I’m your woman. In this house, you don’t get to do anything without my permission.”
Then she looked at Lin Wan Ning. “Did you hear that?”
Lin Wan Ning wasn’t stupid; in fact, her brain was pretty sharp.
Hu Yu Ying’s words implied she’s the real lady of the house, and she’d only be playing second fiddle.
But so what?
Everything she did was supposedly worthy of ridicule.
Her brother took all the blame, protecting her, shouldering all the responsibility.
What Hu Yu Ying was doing with her declaration of dominance and setting rules was rightfully hers — because she was the one at fault from the start.
Nodding subtly, she answered, “I heard you. You’re my sister. I will listen to you.”
“I’m hungry.”
Lin Wan Ning hurriedly said, “I’ll go buy breakfast.”
“Go, that bad guy,” Hu Yu Ying didn’t look at Dragon Brother, but the sarcasm in her tone was clear as day.
Meanwhile, Dragon Brother hurriedly got up and went out to buy breakfast.
With his departure, Hu Yu Ying suddenly looked like her strength had been drained away in an instant.
Lin Wan Ning saw this and stepped forward, offering her body as a leaning post. “Sorry.”
Hu Yu Ying shook her head. Everything was already done. What’s the use of apologizing now? “Show me the video.”
Lin Wan Ning hesitated for a moment but finally clicked play and handed the phone to Hu Yu Ying.
Watching the clips on the screen, Hu Yu Ying closed her eyes. “You even used handcuffs. Were you planning to steal my man all along?”
“No,” Lin Wan Ning lowered her eyes and whispered, “I never meant to steal your man.”
“Honestly, you probably won’t believe it, but I just wanted to borrow a seed from my brother, then leave.”
“Don’t blame him; you saw what happened. It’s me who was seducing him.”
Her words were sincere; she was almost ready to give up everything — her studies, her music she loved, everything…
Her aunt delayed her, she even considered giving up everything — but at that time, Dragon Brother had been constantly by her side, caring, giving warmth, and willing to forsake everything because of her.
Yet now she wanted to leave — alone.
“Is it worth it?” Hu Yu Ying softly asked.
Lin Wan Ning smiled slightly, lips pressed together. “It’s worth it.”
“There are two times I was the happiest in my life.”
“The first was as a kid, at my grandparents’ house.”
“The second was when I met my brother and all of you; when I met him, I liked him instantly. Amid everyone teasing me, he stood unwaveringly in front of me.”
“Getting to know you and Qing Xue: bathing together, talking late at night, watching small videos, cooking and eating together — it suddenly felt like home.”
“I want to hold onto that happiness. Greedy to keep a piece of my own joy. So, everything I did was worth it.”
Completely giving her innocence to him, showing she genuinely believed in this man, even if her love was… shameful.
Hu Yu Ying listened to Lin Wan Ning say “suddenly felt like home,” her heart tangled with complexity. She had experienced that feeling too — being together in a small courtyard, around a table, talking, chatting — just that sense of family.
From a woman’s perspective, she empathized with Lin Wan Ning.
But from another angle, she thought her feelings weren’t worth sympathy.
“You just heard Dragon Brother say he’ll marry me and take me home,” he declared without hesitation, zero doubt.
“I don’t want any title,” Lin Wan Ning knew how important she was to Dragon Brother. From the very beginning, she never intended to compete with Hu Yu Ying.
“So, what should you call me now?”
“Big sister, oh, big sister,” Lin Wan Ning softly embraced Hu Yu Ying.
“I still haven’t forgiven you,”
“Then punish me — I accept whatever punishment big sister gives.”
The next second, Lin Wan Ning froze, her entire body abruptly numb.
Seeing Hu Yu Ying’s hand roaming over her cute little chest, her body suddenly felt strange.
As Hu Yu Ying’s mischievous hand moved downward.
Lin Wan Ning trembled uncontrollably: “Big sister…”
“You said I could punish you however I wanted.”
Lin Wan Ning pressed her lips tight and nodded softly.
“You’re surprisingly sensitive, huh?”
Lin Wan Ning closed her eyes, her cool little face constantly nuzzling and kissing Hu Yu Ying’s neck. “Wasn’t that just your intention, making me listen outside earlier?”
Feeling Lin Wan Ning’s lips and kisses on her neck, Hu Yu Ying couldn’t help but turn her neck, “I thought I’d be furious, but in truth, I stayed calmer than I expected. I’ve even decided how to punish you.”
“I don’t know what’s happened to me. Maybe when I saw you for the first time, a strange sense of kinship just rose in my heart…”
Lin Wan Ning bit gently on Hu Yu Ying’s earlobe: “I felt it too — that closeness. Instinctively, I want to get close to you and Qing Xue. I thought only I felt this way…”
