Chapter 349: Just a Little Trouble or Better Yet, Join the Party
Li Qing Xue woke up and immediately realized everyone was missing.
Hu Yu Ying was probably rushing home to find Dragon Brother, but where in the world had Lin Wan Ning gone?
After scarfing down the breakfast left on the table, Li Qing Xue dialed Lin Wan Ning’s number.
When she answered, Lin Wan Ning simply said she had some school stuff to take care of, it was all sorted out, and she’d be back soon.
Li Qing Xue tidied up a bit and headed out to check out of the room.
About ten minutes later…
She spotted Lin Wan Ning walking toward her, tall and graceful, with porcelain-white skin—impossible to miss in a crowd.
“Wan Ning, waking up and finding you gone made me think you’d been stolen,” Li Qing Xue handed her a drink with a grin.
But right after she said that, she froze.
Because she saw Lin Wan Ning’s eyes were rimmed red, like she’d just finished crying.
No longer feeling like joking around, Li Qing Xue quickly took her hand.
“What’s wrong? Did someone bully you?”
Lin Wan Ning shook her head.
“No one bullied me.”
“That’s a lie. No one bullied you, so why are you crying? Your eyes are all red.”
“It’s not because I was bullied,” Lin Wan Ning’s voice wavered with tears.
“I’m happy. Truly happy. My heart’s just so full of excitement…”
She truly hadn’t expected Hu Yu Ying to forgive her and even try to accept her.
In her mind, the things she did weren’t worth sympathy.
But surprisingly, Hu Yu Ying told her to call her sister.
Her own family was alive, yet in her heart, it felt like they were dead.
Some people she’d only known for a few months already treated her like family—she was overwhelmed.
Li Qing Xue didn’t understand what was happening but kept softly comforting her.
Lin Wan Ning, besides Hu Yu Ying, was probably the strongest girl she’d ever met. But now she was crying like a leaky faucet.
Sniffling, Lin Wan Ning grabbed the drink Li Qing Xue was holding and gulped down a couple of big sips, then continued sniffling.
All this stuff was making Li Qing Xue laugh and cry at the same time.
At least from her gestures, Wan Ning didn’t seem like she’d been bullied.
“Alright, stop crying. You look terrible when you cry,” Li Qing Xue gently soothed her.
“I know, but I just can’t help it,” Lin Wan Ning wiped her tears and forced herself to stop crying.
Even with all her effort, her face twitched a little as tears threatened to spill again.
Li Qing Xue stayed with her, patiently waiting until her emotions settled, then gently hugged her.
“I’m okay now, thank you,” Lin Wan Ning took a deep breath, her mood noticeably brighter.
“You really gave me a scare just now.”
Suddenly bursting into tears—what a mess!
“Can I ask what happened?”
Looking at Li Qing Xue’s curious little face, Lin Wan Ning chuckled.
Sniffling, she said, “I’m not telling.”
“You, Lin Wan Ning, just worried me to d*ath, and now you won’t tell me? Are we even best friends?”
Li Qing Xue refused to give up.
Seeing her mood lighten, she was secretly happy for her.
But what should she do about Wan Ning and Dragon Brother?
Sigh~
She sighed inwardly. Sometimes, knowing too much was seriously annoying.
It was probably best to call Dragon Brother out for a serious chat.
A good kick in his face, making him lick the ground—yeah, that’d teach him to respect Hu Yu Ying better.
Either way, things were getting tricky. Might as well join the chaos.
If she was going to become a woman, she might as well enjoy the happiness Hu Yu Ying and Lin Wan Ning talked about.
The thought made her a little excited.
Once Lin Wan Ning calmed down and saw Li Qing Xue still spacing out, she nudged her head.
“What are you thinking?”
“Nothing!” Li Qing Xue grinned slyly.
Looking at her silly Wan Ning, she thought—man, she still didn’t realize she’d already caught her secret.
So stupid.
Seeing the smile on Li Qing Xue’s face, Lin Wan Ning frowned slightly.
This cunningly cute Li Qing Xue’s smile probably wasn’t good news.
“You’re so vicious with that smile. What evil plan are you brewing now?”
Li Qing Xue deliberately kept her cards close to her chest.
“Just wait a little while, you’ll find out soon enough.”
Once she defeated Dragon Brother and tasted his own medicine, she’d persuade him to be a good guy. No more messing around!
Ding-dong~
Her phone buzzed.
Li Qing Xue looked at it and her cheerful expression instantly faded.
“What’s wrong?”
Seeing her suddenly grim, Lin Wan Ning asked softly.
Li Qing Xue put her phone in front of her.
“Look—it’s Ye Liang Chen.”
On the screen was a friend request from Ye Liang Chen:
“Qing Xue, you know I’m just a knight protecting my princess. In this world, only I am truly devoted to you. Don’t be sad, don’t be upset. For that kind of person, it’s not worth it!”
“Honestly, I’ve never understood why Ye Liang Chen keeps pestering us,” Lin Wan Ning admitted.
She truly couldn’t make sense of it.
“He thinks we’re already Dragon Brother’s people, yet he keeps trying to get close—what’s his deal? Maybe he’s got some weird obsession?”
She had declined him several times right in front of him, but he just kept acting superior—what’s up with this guy’s head?
“You ask me, I don’t know either. He wasn’t like this before. Now… I don’t really know what to say…”

Especially knowing the photos Ye Liang Chen holds are all fake made her distrust him even more.
She wanted to ignore him, but he kept pestering her with messages.
Recalling their good times over the past nine years, she felt bitter.
Better not to think about him at all.
Li Qing Xue thought Ye Liang Chen was probably the least qualified to talk about past feelings—he was the one who initiated their supposed friendship, gradually eroding nine years of their relationship.
He claimed he wanted to save her, Hu Yu Ying, and Lin Wan Ning.
But all he really did was insult and mock them, using Shen Meng Jie to sh**t fake photos and get closer.
Did he think she didn’t see his little schemes?
It was just about clinging to her—her body, her life.
She used to focus only on studying, convinced every stage of life was her own responsibility, and was naive about love.
But once she truly liked someone, that naive love turned real and made her happy.
It wasn’t about grand gestures or saying pretty words—it was about actually doing something.
Dragon Brother’s actions weren’t pretentious; he just genuinely wished the best for the three of them.
She could feel it deep down and was helplessly falling for it.
But Ye Liang Chen’s actions were just talk—what right did he think he had to be the one?
