Chapter 364: I Don’t Trust You Guys
The two of them, hand in hand, cheerfully scampered across the campus and plopped down at the pavilion by the artificial lake, gasping for breath.
They exchanged a look and burst into synchronized laughter.
Leaning back on the pavilion’s long bench, Li Qing Xue joked, “Back in the day, I thought those little videos with perverts wouldn’t be our problem here. But now? Ye Liang Chen and Xue Shao Hua kind of look like the guys from those videos.”
Honestly, I kinda regret meeting them now,” she added softly.
Li Qing Xue took a slow, deep breath and continued, “If I hadn’t met him, I wouldn’t be like this now.”
Hu Yu Ying gently held Li Qing Xue’s hand. “Brother Long once said, everyone’s life is a mix of good and bad. We have to choose to see the bright side, because life is like the endless sky—you can always choose which way to look. So, we should cherish every moment.”
“You have no idea. Ye Liang Chen used to chase after me, even tracked me back to my rented place in Haiwan City. I was so scared back then. It was Brother Long who chose to help me. He said everyone has their purpose, and helping me? That was his reason.”
“When you’re alone, you become completely fearless…” Hu Yu Ying paused, her face flickering with memories. She still vividly recalls the moment she saw Ye Liang Chen standing at her doorstep, and how terrified she was, almost crying.
But when Brother Long protected her and took her home, her fears vanished. Her heart only felt peace: “If someone is willing to lend you their courage, what’s there to be afraid of?”
“Though Kyoto is over a thousand kilometers from our hometown, you’re not alone—you’ve got me, Wan Ning, and Brother Long with you.”
“Look at Brother Long—so capable, one punch and Ye Liang Chen saw the big ‘Ma Tai’. With him here, he’ll always have our backs.”
Li Qing Xue covered her mouth and giggled, her smile ignited by Hu Yu Ying’s mention of ‘seeing Ma Tai.’
“That’s right! You should smile more. When you smile, you really look beautiful.”
“Thanks,” Li Qing Xue said sincerely, knowing Hu Yu Ying was just caring for her feelings. Truly grateful, she leaned her head on Hu Yu Ying’s shoulder. “A Ying, you’ve really changed a lot.”
In the beginning, Hu Yu Ying was shy, kept her head down, and rarely spoke. She was always trailing behind Brother Long.
I remember once talking to her, her voice was so soft I barely heard her.
But now? Hu Yu Ying’s confidence, passion, and openness are blooming.
Once just a little girl following Brother Long around, now she can even stand her ground against him.
“Yeah, I’ve changed a lot. Each of us has,” Hu Yu Ying nodded.
Then she looked at Li Qing Xue, who still kept that same radiant confidence, lovely smile, and lively spirit.
The most precious thing is to stay true to yourself. I hope Qing Xue remains happy forever.
“Who says I’ve changed? I have too.” Li Qing Xue deliberately squeezed her arms, making her petite figure look a little bigger.
A bright smile blossomed on her face, radiating youthful beauty that’s simply mesmerizing.
Let’s go. I’ll take you back to the dorm.”
With no major classes, their schedule was pretty free. After sending Qing Xue back, Brother Long would probably come to pick her up.
“Okay then~” Yawning, she leaned lazily on Hu Yu Ying’s shoulder, her voice full of reluctance.
After Qing Xue reached her dorm, Hu Yu Ying headed toward Gate A.
It wasn’t long before she was caught off guard by a voice calling “Sister” that made her freeze.
Turning, she saw Lin Wan Ning, wearing a helmet and sitting on an electric scooter, stopping in front of her.
“Surprised, huh?” Lin Wan Ning grinned, pinching Hu Yu Ying’s cheek happily.
Hu Yu Ying nodded softly, surprised indeed.
“My brother’s school is preparing for the sports day. Today, he was patrolling the swimming hall with a whistle, so I took on the mission to pick up sister,” Lin Wan Ning explained, putting her helmet on Hu Yu Ying’s head.
“Let me take you. We’ll go get something to eat first,” Hu Yu Ying said with a smile.
“Good.”
She hopped onto the scooter, and they headed to the familiar restaurant. Sizzling rice noodles—so delicious.
After eating, they returned to the courtyard.
Hu Yu Ying just sat down when Lin Wan Ning approached from behind and gently massaged her shoulders.
“Next time, we should also take Qing Xue to eat. The rice noodles we had before were all thin, but turns out thick ones are just as good.”
“Hm,” Hu Yu Ying responded softly. She held Lin Wan Ning’s small hand as it massaged her, pulling it to her side and sitting on a nearby bench.
“Lately, Qing Xue hasn’t been in a good mood either. No major classes tomorrow, so we can all go out together then.”
Hearing this, Lin Wan Ning pouted and said, “That Ye Liang Chen is just too nasty. If I ever meet him, I definitely won’t let him go as easy as Qing Xue did!”
Hu Yu Ying thwacked her with a finger, frowning. “You, you know, Qing Xue’s known him too long. She’s always respectful and leaves him some face. But after this mess? I believe Qing Xue won’t give Ye Liang Chen any more face.”
They both worried for Qing Xue. Hu Yu Ying worried, too. But she really didn’t want similar incidents to happen again to them.
Because they didn’t need any salvation from Ye Liang Chen’s so-called redemption…
“Your sister doesn’t know, but I just found out from my brother’s words today—Ye Liang Chen had been trying to bother me for a while, even went to my music school. I just didn’t run into him,” Lin Wan Ning said softly.
Hu Yu Ying was stunned.
She had always thought Ye Liang Chen was just chasing Qing Xue, but now? That guy was truly rotten—he not only bothered Qing Xue but also wanted to target Wan Ning. How can there be such a person in this world?
If it weren’t for Brother Long always watching out for her, would Ye Liang Chen also try to bother her?
That’s not impossible. Once, he did before. Brother Long had even slapped him—after that, she and Brother Long got serious, and since then, Ye Liang Chen had never dared to bother her again.
“That Xue Shao Hua guy too—he’s no good either. Brother has dealt with them before,” Hu Yu Ying said, recalling her brother’s words.
Sighing, she remembered Brother Long once told her that Xue Shao Hua wasn’t a good classmate, and she should stay away from him.
Seeing the way Xue Shao Hua looked at her and Qing Xue, Hu Yu Ying always felt something was off.
Maybe it’s better that Qing Xue and I just move in together,” Hu Yu Ying softly suggested. “You’re all alone, and I’m a bit worried…”
